Listen to this episode HERE Matriarchy, if you couldn't already tell, is a very inspiring, intriguing, and critical topic that is incredibly important to me and all that I do. So, today on the show, we're going to talk about it! Dr. Jessica Spring Weappa has a PHD in matriarchal studies, presented at the first Matriarch Rising Festival, and is my guest on the podcast today to blow all our minds on exploring matriarchy! Can you imagine a society where mothers are centered, where the highest currency of all is a mother's love? A culture with no rape, no domestic violence, no fear of death, and where relationships aren't based in top down hierarchy? This is matriarchy and this rich conversation is full of concepts that are quite honestly very challenging for us living in our current patriarchal capitalist society. Jessica touches on gifting economies, nature as nourishment, and the spiritual commonalities that appear across the planet within matriarchal societies. Jessica has devoted her life's work to not only studying these concepts but also finding ways in which we can plug back into and rewild ourselves into centering mothers. She stresses the importance of creativity and imagination as key ingredients to creating matriarchy because none of us have been modeled what it is! We all must do the deep internal work and deprogramming to break the spell of patriarchy and find comfort, rather than fear in centering women and mothers. And of course, you know what I have to say next - if you want to dip your toe in, or dive headfirst, then you simply must come to my women only life changing gorgeous and sacred gathering, Matriarch Rising Festival. It will change your life, it will blast your heart open, and you will return home renewed and full of deep aliveness. Go to matriarchrisingfestival.com and grab your ticket, and I'll see you in June! Here's what you'll hear in this episode: ✨How Jessica couldn't look away from the questions she had about mothering today and what the future of mothering holds ✨Her own journey of domestic violence and being a single mother ✨Understanding matriarchy, through critiquing patriarchy ✨How insignificant fathers are within matriarchal societies that is sometimes unknown who a child's father is ✨Why our society has a knee jerk reaction of fear towards matriarchy ✨How capitalism is a perversion of a gift giving economy ✨How our current economy is dependent on the free labor of mothers ✨How our court system is rooted in matricide and takes no consideration of human development ✨How care ethics should be based off mother/child imprinting and how this informs Jessica's research and work ✨How essential creativity, and imagination is required for creating matriarchy in our modern lives ⭐ Matriarch Rising Festival: Get your tickets NOW! - https://www.matriarchrisingfestival.com ⭐ Don't miss the MatriBirth Midwifery Institute, Enrollment opens May 20th!!
