Amber Alekhamis is a qualified naturopathic herbalist (BHSc), certified in iridology and flower essences. Her work and life revolve around being in reverie with nature and advocating for us as people to be in a reciprocal relationship with the earth. She continues to try to always be a proponent for traditional practices of Naturopathy and to be guided by the light of nature. Amber lives in the Northern Rivers of NSW with her husband, where she runs her small business known as From The Eartha.During this episode, Amber shares how an upbringing steeped in the philosophy of nature connection alongside a childhood living on the wild islands off the coast of Western Australia heavily influenced her belief systems and the way that she practices and connects with herbal medicine today. Amber's passionate about keeping alive the traditions and constitutional approaches of early naturopathic founders- focussing on the whole person, rather than reducing someone to their symptoms. She uses herbal oils as a way of deepening her connection to herbal medicine, but also as a beautifully gentle introduction to using herbs for those that are new to plant medicine. Helping her clients experience the potency and effectiveness of plants in a way that asks them to slow down and use all their senses. Today's subject matter is so slippery and mysterious that even my guest, Dr Maya Ward, finds it hard to describe, though she's swimming in it. It concerns the aliveness of rivers and the rivers inside us; the nature of reality and realms invisible yet objectively real. It's about catching the whispers and shouts of the world with pen and paper. It's shamanic, ecstatic and emphatically esoteric. It's bloody wild – and I suggest bringing your passport because the places this convo will take you are far out. But also, deep within. If you love all things complex, paradoxical and perspective-shifting, I dedicate this episode to you

Today, we're diving into the profound connection between human potential and the natural world. Whether you're a city dweller longing for greenery or a nature enthusiast seeking deeper insights, this episode will inspire you to harness the transformative power of nature. Have you ever noticed how a walk in the park or time spent at the beach seems to clear your mind and energize your spirit? It's not just in your head—science backs this up. Research shows that spending time in nature can enhance creativity, reduce stress, and improve cognitive function. A study from Stanford University found that walking in natural environments can decrease negative thinking patterns and boost overall mental well-being. Meanwhile, Japanese forest bathing, or “Shinrin-yoku,” has been linked to reduced cortisol levels and a stronger immune system. It's clear that nature isn't just a backdrop; it's a catalyst for unlocking our full potential. Ready to experience the benefits of nature for yourself? Here are five simple ways to integrate the natural world into your life: Start Small: Take a 10-minute walk outside daily, even if it's just around your neighborhood. Green Your Space: Add plants to your home or office for a touch of nature's calming presence. Digital Detox Outdoors: Leave your devices behind and focus on your surroundings during outdoor activities. Explore Local Parks: Find a nearby park or trail and make it your go-to spot for reflection and relaxation. Try Earthing: Walk barefoot on grass, sand, or soil to reconnect with the earth's energy. Nature is more than a place; it's a partner in our journey toward self-discovery and growth. When we reconnect with the natural world, we rediscover ourselves. So, whether you're climbing mountains or simply enjoying a sunset, remember: nature is your ally in unlocking your limitless potential. Don't forget to subscribe, leave a review, and share this episode with someone who needs a little nature in their life. Thank you for tuning in. Love and peace always, Amber xoxo
In this episode of the Crazy Wisdom Podcast, host Stewart Alsop is joined by Reya Manna, founder of the Song Keepers School, for an inspiring conversation that traverses spirituality, the power of the human voice, psychedelics, ancient creation myths, and the cultural significance of storytelling and singing. Reya shares her journey from being discouraged from pursuing a life centered around singing to discovering its deeper healing potential during South American plant medicine ceremonies. The discussion touches on the sacred role of sound in protection and healing, the pitfalls of artificial intelligence's detachment from soul and embodiment, and the importance of nurturing authentic self-expression amidst modern distractions like social media. This rich dialogue emphasizes the profound wisdom carried through connection to nature, the divine feminine, and practices of deep listening, which Reya also integrates into her Song Keepers School. If you're seeking to reconnect with your voice and align with ancient healing traditions, you can learn more about Reya's work and upcoming programs at www.reyamanna.com. The vibration of our own voice can ground us, heal emotional wounds, and serve as a tool for blessing and transformation when used with intentionality and love. This deeper understanding of the voice's role in healing can reframe how we view self-expression and creativity.Rediscovering Ancestral Wisdom and Connection to Nature: The conversation highlights how many of us have become disconnected from ancestral practices and the natural world. Reya explains how nature holds wisdom in its patterns and sounds, serving as a "library" of memory and guidance. Through offerings, prayers, and song, individuals can rekindle a relationship with the earth that restores a sense of belonging and purpose.Singing as a Transmission of Love and Sacred Intentions: In contrast to the commodification of music in modern society, Reya describes how the act of singing has traditionally been used by shamans and healers to convey love, protection, and blessings. By building a practice of singing from the heart, individuals can access their authentic voice and align with their higher purpose, amplifying their energy field and positively impacting others.Navigating the Modern Landscape of Technology and AI with Discernment: Stewart and Reya discuss the rise of artificial intelligence and its impact on creativity and self-awareness. They reflect on how AI can replicate but cannot embody the soulful essence of human expression. This prompts a reminder to foster resilience against digital distractions by grounding ourselves in embodied experiences and genuine human connection. The Interplay Between Spirituality, Desire, and Social Conditioning: The discussion delves into the Gnostic myths and the idea that true desires originate from the "high heart" and guide us toward our soul's blueprint. However, lower desires—amplified by social media and consumerism—can entrap us in illusions. Recognizing this distinction can help individuals reclaim their agency and align with their authentic spiritual path. The Divine Feminine and Sacred Balance in Creation: Reya brings attention to the erasure of the divine feminine in many spiritual narratives and emphasizes the importance of restoring balance by honoring both masculine and feminine energies. She shares stories of ancient priestesses and the sacred role of women as conduits of creation and wisdom, suggesting that reclaiming this knowledge is essential for collective healing and spiritual evolution.A Call to Collective Kindness and Creative Agency: The conversation ends with a reflection on the power of individual actions in creating ripples of collective change. Whether through a simple song, a kind gesture, or a moment of deep listening, every act of love and care contributes to a more harmonious world. Reya underscores the importance of remembering that we are creators of our reality, capable of shaping a future imbued with compassion, connection, and truth.

So whether you're looking to improve your personal growth, relationships, or health, this episode has something to guide you through it.These aren't just ideas; they're actionable truths that I've been my compass on this crazy journey. Selfless Service is amongst the greatest joy one can feel. Giving to others without reciprocation in mind breeds good karma. Empathy is a powerful gift you can give anyone. Optimized Health is the key piece to the puzzle of a beautiful life. Without ENERGY, Happy Hustlin' becomes irrelevant. Little habits breed big results. It's more about what you don't do than what you do. Unplugging Digitally is a requirement for holistic happiness. Discipline and barriers are amongst the swords to slay the digital dragon. When you fall victim to the viral vortex, go outside and be with nature. Loving Relationships are the fabric for a warm blanket in a winter storm. LOVE is effort multiplied intentionally. Put your partner's needs over your wants and you'll have peace and love. Fatherhood has single handedly provided the greatest emotional love peak of my human existence. Mindful Spirituality means knowing and trusting GOD. 5 minutes of daily affirmations and I AM statements will help manifest your dream reality. Do not purposefully suspend your critical thinking to blindly follow a religion, rather question everything to determine what you truly believe and why. Abundance Financially provides freedom. Money is a store of value, use your energy wisely to attain it and your intellect wisely when trading it. More money makes you more of who you really are. Money won't buy you sustained joy, only temporary happiness. Personal Development is the art of inner growth. Intentionally choose what enters your conscious and subconscious to ensure positive evolution, then find a mentor who can help expedite the journey. Take advice only from those who you would literally trade places with both personally and professionally. Passionate Hobbies are a breath of fresh air for entrepreneurs who have been underwater for too long. DO fun things that bring you pleasure, guilt-free. Creativity is sparked when you escape the invisible fence you've been caged in. Choose something that brings you joy, that will grow your skills, and involves others you want to be around.. Then do it regularly every week. Impactful Work is at the intersection of passion, purpose, and positive impact. The Happy Hustle has changed my life by proving that you can have personal and professional life balance. It is possible to systematically harmonize ambition & well-being, the Happy Hustle shows you how. Solve a problem that you care about with a solution you can profit from. Nature connection is mandatory for mental health. God designed us to be a part of nature, not just visit it. Happy Hustlin' means protecting those and that which we love, including nature. These are the 35 life lessons I've learned over the years so far. I hope these insights resonate with you and help guide you on your own journey to harmonizing ambition and well-being. Harnessing Inner Balance [00:28:07] “That's a big part of this process…to have courage to undo old beliefs or realize where you've abandoned yourself also requires building a new relationship with yourself where you can trust yourself to step into what is more true, what is more you and you.”[00:36:59] “The feminine's biggest wound is that she'll be too much, too emotional, too sensitive, too soft. The masculine's biggest wound is that they won't be enough. I won't have enough to succeed. I won't have enough power, enough of this. And so the healthy version of that is really bringing union to the inner masculine, inner feminine, so that we can show up more whole.” [01:10:30] “Because we're designed to live life in a way that is both challenging and causes us to evolve and grow, and also brings a lot of joy. And when we snap into alignment, we positively impact the whole ecosystem.” Connect with Jen Briggs Website - https://www.thejenniferbriggs.com/ Instagram - @jennifer.e.briggsFacebook - The Whole ShebangYouTube - @TheWholeShebangPodcastPodcast - The Whole Shebang Audio/video editing and show notes by Podcast Abundance. Amos Rodriguez is a passionate advocate for social justice and environmental stewardship, sharing a life story shaped by resilience and a deep connection to nature. Born in 1979 in El Salvador, Amos grew up amidst the turmoil of military regimes and violent conflict. His family, heavily involved in the church, faced brutal repression, with his mother imprisoned and tortured and his uncle killed for his activism. At just 10 years old, Amos fled from soldiers and found refuge with a compassionate stranger, eventually seeking help for his mother at a local church. Despite the trauma and hardships he endured, he remained committed to education and community service, later working in social services to support impoverished communities affected by the conflict. Inspired by his encounters with American social workers, Amos relocated to the United States to pursue higher education. His experiences have shaped his understanding of global social issues, prompting him to advocate for awareness and empathy regarding complex conflicts, particularly those similar to his own. His journey also involves a profound relationship with nature, where he learned survival skills such as hunting and fishing as a means of healing. These practices not only provided sustenance but also fostered a deep connection to the environment, reinforcing his commitment to teaching others about responsible hunting and sustainable living. In the U.S., Amos has transitioned to educating others about nature connection through classes on bow building, foraging, and outdoor skills. He is dedicated to creating a healthy farm environment that promotes wildlife and responsible practices while encouraging stewardship of the land.
