This episode originally broadcast on February 29, 2024. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2024/02/binary-system-podcast-400-start-from-the-beginning/ Happy 400th episode! Time flies, right? About ten years ago we started recording our Night Vale discussions because we're giant nerds and nerds gotta podcast. But here's the thing: we started with the Night Vale episode that'd just been released, "Renovations," number 48 in the series. We've discussed every episode since then, but not once have we gone back to the beginning. The same goes for Saga, Transformers, and (our current favorite thing) Lore Olympus, we started talking about them way after they'd started. That just won't do. TO THE TIME MACHINE! In addition to a deep dive into issue/episode #1 of several of our favorites, we also discussed the first episode of THIS VERY PODCAST. As well as #266 and #267 of Lore Olympus, since we can't wait even a week to discuss the latest two episodes because we're obsessed. Stick around until the end of the episode to hear more than a minute of name flubs and cats deciding to cat. This week's outro is a clip from Voyageur by Monkey Warhol. You can find Kathryn's review of the first few months of IDW's Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye here. Looking for a present for that hard-to-shop-for person? Want to buy them (or yourself) a square foot of a castle in Scotland? Look no further! To us. Episodes 251, 252, and 253 have been available for FastPass since July, but we wanted to wait until episode 252 (which we already discussed before the hiatus) was available for free on WebToon before we FastPassed episode 253, so spoilers, but only if you haven't already seen episode 253, which we're assuming just about everybody read months ago since it's technically the mid-season hiatus... You know what? Time is weird. Enjoy the recap as we squeee about the latest developments (Zeus, poisoned! Apollo, in league with a Titan! Persephone, no longer the goddess of Spring!), and then talk a little about The Book of Boba Fett and the Ms. Marvel TV series. This week's outro is a clip from Voyageur by Monkey Warhol. Original broadcast date January 27, 2022. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2022/01/binary-system-podcast-299-spider-man-far-from-home-and-raised-by-wolves/ First up this week we've gotta talk about Spider-Man, because we just watched Far From Home! No, not No Way Home. Far From Home. Yes, three years after it came out. We have no excuses. But we sure did love it. Listen in as we talk about the things we loved, the stuff that maybe wasn't for us, and the ways the story kept surprising the heck out of us. After that we've got a spoileriffic recap of the first half of season one of Raised By Wolves, because we've never seen anything like that first episode. If you haven't seen it yet, seriously, treat yourself, you won't be sorry. Well, okay, you might, because it's incredibly violent, but wow is it pretty. (Apologies for the airplane-hangar noise in the background of this episode: Kathryn thought that maybe the sound of her 3D printer wouldn't be picked up by her microphone, but she has a surprisingly good microphone so it totally was.) This week's outro is a clip from Delay by Monkey Warhol. Correction: (Well, confirmation of some things we were struggling to remember.) The name of the planet in Raised By Wolves is Kepler-22b. The name of Tony's virtual assistant is E.D.I.T.H. They even spelled it out for us in the movie: Even Dead, I'm The Hero. We have zero excuses, except we're bad at names. Night Vale citizens will need to hoard everything they can to survive (yes, even that box of stale Flavoroos on the counter.) To help out, the Night Vale Sanitation Department is allowing everyone to comb through the junk they've previously disposed of and take one item back. Anything you want. Anything at all. Really? You're taking that back? Are you sure? After recapping this weeks episode (featuring the triumphant return of writer Brie Williams) we have a long discussion about the latest Lore Olympus episode, and try to parse out which secret Apollo is going to spill the beans about, who he's going to spill them to, and exactly how big of a clusterf**k this is going to cause. We also talk about the "Get Back" Beatles documentary, and Elizabeth wants everyone to watch the first episode of "Raised By Wolves" but she's not going to tell you why. The outro music this week is a clip from Voyageur by Monkey Warhol. Looking for a present for that hard-to-shop-for person? Want to buy them (or yourself) a square foot of a castle in Scotland?
