Kylee Hall was nominated as a Beck's Player with Heart for her commitment and passion on and off the field and court. What she loves most about high school sports is the team aspect; where she can cheer on her teammates, celebrate success together, and help each other through every high and low. She also enjoys having her friends as teammates who participate in the same sports as her. She enjoys working hard in practice to improve her skills and see the results in the competitions. She appreciates being coached, learning different things during each sports season, and the variety of life skills that sports teach her. The sports Kylee competes in include softball, basketball, and volleyball. She is involved in the National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, Knowledge Bowl, and Choir. When she is not working in school, Kylee participates in her church's youth group and travel softball. To Kylee, agriculture means hard work and dedication. In her family, there have been generations of farmers, so she understands the commitment it takes, the work ethic that is needed, and the overall importance of agriculture to provide necessities to communities. She enjoys traveling to stay with her grandparents who farm corn and soybeans each fall during harvest. Their work ethic has been an example to her parents and has passed on to her in everything she does. Kylee plans to graduate from high school, attend college, and play Division 1 softball. She is currently thinking about majoring in elementary education or exercise science. Kenzlei Mathews was nominated as a Beck's Player with Heart for her commitment and passion on and off the mat and field. While it's difficult for her to pick one thing she loves most about high school sports, Kenzlei expressed that pride is what she loves most. There is true pride in the eyes of her parents, her community, young athletes, and even the bus driver. Representing her school and community with her friends is an honor and an emotional, rewarding feeling. Looking up and seeing the stands filled with people from her school and community is something that she cannot describe. Being able to set the stage for young athletes to dream of playing, in the same uniforms, striving for the same dreams or more, is a feeling of a whirlwind of emotions. Kenzlei competes in Western Boone High School wrestling, softball, and soccer on the varsity teams and plays travel softball with the Indiana Shockwaves. She also participates in FFA, 4-H, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the National Junior Honor Society. In her spare time, she volunteers as a mentor to local softball teams as well as other activities. Kenzlei currently works for a local horse farm, teaches, softball lessons, and, is a junior umpire for young athletes to help her parents pay for her fees and equipment. Agriculture to Kenzlei means a way of life. She said this because her father has grown up working for farmers and taught each of his kids to earn their first dollars by volunteering for local farmers. She did not know at the time just how much it was teaching her. Learning to work from sun up until sundown, walking fields, carrying heavy rocks to the cart, and just learning to work as a team to cover more ground. She applies each of the qualities taught to her through farming to everyday life. Kenzlei dreams of playing softball in college, and although undecided, she hopes to earn a medical degree possibly in sports medicine. She wants to be able to help give back to her parents, supporters, and sponsors for always helping her find a way to make her dreams happen. I was with the kids in the car last week (on our way back from my daughter being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society!), and there was laughter and talking and music AND Silence. I noticed what felt like a Blanket of Silence surrounding me, closer in than the talking, closer than the music, closer than my thoughts, closer than my breath. I was fully engaged and yet fully Covered, practicing this Love and in deep gratitude of the moment. And that inspired this :) I Love you,Niknikki@curlynikki.comLOVE CHARGING STATION, Live, Daily, Group Practice- 6:30am ET (Spotify LIVE):▶▶ https://apps.apple.com/id/app/spotify-live/id1517524960Support the show:▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmorningsGoOD Mornings merch:▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmorningsWeekly LIVE Meditation, Tuesdays at 7pm ET (FREE on Spotify)▶▶ https://spotify.link/meditation_________________________________Today's Quotes:"Deeper breaths take you to deeper parts of yourself."-@LedBySource via IG"I put a strong nature within you. I put strength within you that you have not yet seen, nor realized. I gave you more strength to overcome challenges and obstacles than you have detected, let alone fully manifested. Know as you encounter these challenges, they are but small, even though they look great. Know as you exercise the strength given you, you will see your obstacles fall and crumble, just as the wall of Jericho fell so easily and completely. Do not look to your own hands, or your own understanding, but look to what I have said and given you. Your strength will not be in flesh and blood, but in my spirit. Your strength will not be what you possess, but will be what possesses you. Invert your concept of strength and understand what I am saying to you this day, for in your weakness I am made strong, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. Today I am talking with Clint Allen, a middle school social studies teacher in Arlington, TX. I met Clint in 2019 when I spoke at the induction ceremony for the National Junior Honor Society at the Oakridge School. Clint is an inspirational educator and I learned so much from talking with him. We even diverged into two of my favorite topics: Mr. Rogers and Hamilton, so you know this will be good!

posted by: Dr. Tyson On September 23, 2005, Mabry Middle School held an induction ceremony for our chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Parents attended this special event in which over 60 of our 7th and 8th grade students accepted the oath of Leadership, Scholarship, Character, Citizenship, and Service. The ceremony was followed by a reception for parents and students. This was a special event in the history of our school as this is our first group of inductees into our newly-formed chapter. This short podcast illuminates the high ideas of the society to which the students made their pledge.
