Nearly every utility these days has made the leap to set decarbonization targets, whether that's committing to a certain percentage of net zero, renewable energy, clean energy, or other metric in the coming decades. While the focus for these ambitions often centers on switching electric utilities from fossil fuels to non-carbon alternatives, the reality remains that the natural gas utilities across the country will continue to play a critical role over the coming decades, even with more electrification pushes. But the presence of natural gas utilities doesn't need to work counter to decarbonization goals, and Nicor Gas is a leading innovator in the gas utility space that is demonstrating that fact. Es ist Januar und während ich in Berlin bei 0 Grad in der beheizten Wohnung sitze, genießt mein Mitgründer und guter Freund Nico die warme Sonne auf Bali. Wie in unserem letzten Check-In versprochen, haben wir uns trotz der Distanz zu einer neuen Podcast-Folge verabredet und sprechen über das, was uns beide gerade so bewegt. Im ersten Teil erzähle ich von der Abgabe des Manuskripts für mein Buch und über die Herausforderungen beim Schreiben. Nico teilt ein paar Anekdoten von seiner Reise nach Australien und von den ersten Tagen in Indonesien. Ab Minute 40 etwa sprechen wir über Unlearning – das Entlernen von Glaubenssätzen und Weltbildern – und über den Umgang mit Schatten. Ich erzähle, warum mein Gesangstraining für mich eine gute Ergänzung zu meiner Therapie ist und warum ich nach 10 Jahren Pause wieder angefangen habe zu Rappen. Es ist der 24. November und das Jahr neigt sich langsam dem Ende zu. In guter alter Tradition habe ich mich mit meinem Freund und Mitgründer von WEVOLVE Dr. Nico Rönpagel zum Check-In verabredet - um darüber zu sprechen, was uns gerade privat und beruflich so beschäftigt.
