Thom Francis welcomes Ulster County Poet Laureate Mike Jurkovic. Mike was the featured reader, promoting his chapbook Eve's Venom, at Poets Speak Loud on Monday, October 27, 2014. +++++ Poets Speak Loud was a poetry open mic series hosted by Mary Panza that began at The Lark Tavern in January 31, 2005 - the same night that that legendary local poet, environmentalist, activist, and “grandfather of the Albany poetry scene” Tom Nattell passed away. In 2010, a fire destroyed the longtime Albany establishment, forcing the open mic to find a new home. Not long after, Poets Speak Loud rose from the ashes and began its run at McGeary's in downtown Albany until COVID-19 brought the series to its end. Over the years many poets and spoken word artists from the Capital Region, Hudson Valley, and beyond were featured at Poets Speak Loud. On October 27, 2014, poet and writer Mike Jurkovic took the stage. Mike Jurkovic was named 2025 and 2026 Ulster County Poet Laureate. He has published poetry, prose, and music reviews globally with little reportable income. Jurkovic's 5 full-length poetry collections include Buckshot Reckoning (Luchador Press, 2023), mooncussers (Luchador Press, 2022) AmericanMental (Luchador Press, 2020); haiku collections Monet's Bamboo (CAPS Press, 2025), and Blue Fan Whirring (Nirala Press, 2018). He is the president of Calling All Poets reading series, which is celebrating 26 years in the Hudson Valley. You can find his reviews online at All About Jazz and lightwoodpress.com. He hosts NuJazzXcursions every Monday night at 9:00 am on WVKR-91.3FM Vassar College. Local poet Dan Wilcox posted on his blog about MIke's reading: Mike Jurkovic has been reading around a lot lately, promoting his new chapbook Eve's Venom (Post Traumatic Press, 2014), which I'd already bought, but it is always fun to hear Mike read. He began with some poems not in the book with minimal introduction, because his poems often tell a story, cynically pondering the world around him, such as a poems about being stopped at a traffic light next to “the dwarf Morpheus,” or “Crows Gathering at the Grey Sky,” or “Andy Martin's American Letter.” Then to poems from Eve's Venom, some read without the titles, …the hysterical “Bio-Hazard,” “Yearbook,” … In the past Mike would wander the room performing his poems, tonight he stuck pretty close to the mic, his poems doing the wandering.

Have an idea or tip? Send us a text!AI is moving fast, but the real advantage isn't sounding smart, it's getting work done faster without breaking your team. Gary Pageau of The Dead Pixels Society sits down with Elias Jo, CEO of Entourage Yearbooks, to talk about what's actually changing inside the yearbook and volume photography workflow and what studios of every size can do right now to keep up.Joe digs into how Entourage built a technology layer around yearbook production, from a Canva-like yearbook builder to online sales and a redundant print network designed for today's supply chain reality. Then he discusses practical uses for artificial intelligence in business: Why “AI as search” is a dead end, where the 20% to 30% efficiency gains are coming from, and how mid-size photography companies can push their SaaS tools, CRM systems, and automation platforms to work together instead of creating more spreadsheet pain. One of the most actionable moments is Jo's simple model for “AI talking to AI” using ChatGPT plus app builders like Lovable to prototype a tool that cleans messy school data and turns it into a repeatable process. We also talk about AI for content creation and podcast production, why human review still matters, and what an AI-first world could look like when prompts start replacing traditional applications. The Climb with Cherie Clonan The Climb is a podcast for people building something meaningful and finding their..Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifyMediaclipMediaclip strives to continuously enhance the user experience while dramatically increasing revenue.Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREEIndependent Photo ImagersIPI is a member + trade association and a cooperative buying group in the photo + print industry.Photo Imaging CONNECTThe Photo Imaging CONNECT conference, March 2027, at the RIO Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas, NDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. In this episode, hosts Cara and Chris discuss various models of evolution, adaptation, and returning to the fundamentals, including, yes, math (!), with Dr. Charles Roseman and Dr. Benjamin Auerbach. Dr. Auerbach is a Professor in the Departments of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research examines variation and evolution through the skeletons of primates and other mammals, applying quantitative genetics and functional anatomy to understand how traits evolve, especially in primates and Australian marsupials. Why you should listenAngie scaled from an 18-year marketing agency to leading AI adoption for 600-person corporations, giving her a rare ground-level view of exactly where companies get stuck and what actually moves people from fear to fluency.Learn the "people-first" sequencing Angie now uses before any AI tool deployment, including how she frames corporate AI training as "recess" to sidestep resistance and drive real adoption.Get Angie's workflow automation logic: how she mapped every bottleneck in her business using Miro, then eliminated them with Make, enabling her to run 15 trainings in a single week instead of her previous max of three. If your clients keep investing in AI tools and their teams still aren't using them three months later, the problem isn't the technology. In this episode, I talk with Angie Carel, an AI enablement consultant who spent 18 years running a marketing agency before pivoting full-time into corporate AI adoption in 2022. Angie works with large corporations across finance, healthcare, and higher education, and her view is consistent: jumping straight to use cases before building AI literacy almost always backfires. We dig into the people-first sequencing she now uses to close the gap between deployment and actual adoption, and why framing AI training as "corporate recess" gets results that formal rollouts never do. If you're a consultant whose clients are sitting on AI investment with nothing to show for it, this conversation will reframe how you solve that problem.About Angie CarelAngie Carel is a Generative AI Consultant named one of the Top 50 Women to Watch in AI and featured in the IEDC 2025 Yearbook as a leading entrepreneur. After running a 10-person marketing agency for 20 years, she went all-in on AI consulting — and in her first year solo, she's on track to outpace her old agency's revenue. Angie founded AI in FW, Indiana's largest AI community with 700+ members, and Co-Crafted, an AI consultancy collective. In this message, Eric kicks off the two-week series Go! Here, There, and Everywhere by naming a subtle but common spiritual drift he calls yearbook theology—the tendency to make faith primarily about ourselves. Using familiar passages like Jeremiah 29 and Psalm 46, Eric shows how Scripture is often misunderstood when we ignore context and center our own experience. He then walks through Psalm 67, revealing God's heart to bless his people so that his ways and salvation might be known among all nations. The message challenges listeners to see God's blessing not as the destination, but as the means—inviting us to align our lives with God's global, outward-facing purpose and ask a simple but courageous question: Will I be a blessing?

Using familiar passages like Jeremiah 29 and Psalm 46, Eric shows how Scripture is often misunderstood when we ignore context and center our own experience. He then walks through Psalm 67, revealing God's heart to bless his people so that his ways and salvation might be known among all nations. The message challenges listeners to see God's blessing not as the destination, but as the means—inviting us to align our lives with God's global, outward-facing purpose and ask a simple but courageous question: Will I be a blessing?
Mocha kicks off the show after falling down a Cheaters rabbit hole on Tubi, Roz gets roasted when a listener discovers his long‑haired high‑school photo, and Lily Allen's massive Bitcoin regret sparks wild money stories from the team. We break down the trending “Admin Night” and body‑doubling craze, react to Martha Stewart showering before the gym, and debate whether a viral Uber confrontation is real or completely staged. We check in with longtime listener Kris in Vancouver, hear a terrifying Helluva Story from Maria who nearly died twice in the hospital, and Roz opens up about writing his memoir and the moment he knew he was done with ET Canada. Plus: a recap of Hilary Duff's big Toronto show, lid‑on‑coffee drama, the origins of the “6‑7” meme, a wild AI‑generated movie trailer starring The Rock and more, and Maurie's chat with Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage.

Today on “Follow To Lead” we will be talking with Sam Rockford, Director of Educational Programming with St. James Academy, Lenexa, KS. Sam led the launch of an initiative as SJA that expanded student involvement and development in media. This initiative included students on both sides of the camera and microphone for their Thunder Broadcasting Network as well as other media projects and upgraded other communications areas such as Yearbook. Sam will not only share with us the developments made in this area but offer some practical guidance on how other schools can do the same. You won't want to miss this program!

In this episode of The Adam Carolla Show, financier and former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci joins Adam to talk politics, culture, and the shifting landscape of American cities. They kick things off by examining how Zohran Mamdani mobilized young voters in New York and why the Left's embrace of socialism continues to resonate with younger generations. Adam and Anthony unpack cultural responses to political change, explore why Jewish voters often lean progressive, and dive into the tribal roots of antisemitism. Scaramucci also weighs in on California's transformation from a red state to a blue one, and Adam reacts to the viral clip of the San Francisco mayor being booed out of a Pride parade.Later on in the show, Elisha Krauss joins Adam to reflect on the six-month mark since the California wildfires, revisiting a tense podcast recorded right after Adam was forced to evacuate. They talk about the slow pace of rebuilding and the lack of leadership in the aftermath. Then, they break down AOC's comments about her high school yearbook photo, and the continued scrutiny over her Bronx vs. Westchester upbringing. Finally, they react to Charlize Theron's jab at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez, after the couple's over-the-top $50 million wedding bash.Get it on.FOR MORE WITH ANTHONY SCARAMUCCI:BOOK: The Little Book of Bitcoin (Nov 2024)PODCAST: The Rest is Politics USPODCAST: Open BookINSTAGRAM & TWITTER: @scaramucciFOR MORE WITH ELISHA KRAUSS: INSTAGRAM: @elishakraussWEBSITE: elishakrauss.com JOURNAL: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/author/elisha-krauss/Thank you for supporting our sponsors:BetOnlineHomes.comoreillyauto.com/ADAMPluto.tvSIMPLISAFE.COM/ADAMOpenPhone.com/adamLIVE SHOWS: July 10 - Irvine, CA (Live Podcast)July 11-12 - Covina, CA (4 Shows)July 16 - Rosemont, ILJuly 17 - Plymouth, WISee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
