Trevor has also a background and experience of being a high school and a college baseball coach and in this episode, he shares his experiences. Tyson Blaser is a catching coach within the New York Yankees Organization, specifically their Minor League system. He played collegiately at the University of Iowa, a NCAA Division I program. Upon graduating in 2011 he was drafted and played in the New York Yankees Organization from 2011-2015, making it as high as Double A. Next, in 2016 he coached baseball and taught U.S. History at United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois. Then, in January 2017 he was hired on by the New York Yankees as a Bullpen Coach for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders a Triple A team in their organization. From 2018-2019 he was the defensive/catching coach for the Staten Island Yankees a Single A team in the Yankees Organization. Currently, Tyson remains within the New York Yankees Organization as a Minor League Catching Coach. In this podcast, we start off talking about his experience when receiving “The Call” from the New York Yankees offering him the coaching position within their organization. We than thoroughly discuss the MiLB coaching lifestyle. Bill Mosiello is the Associate Head Coach at Texas Christian University, a NCAA Division I program in Fort Worth, Texas. He played collegiately at Fresno State University, finishing his career in 1986. Jumped straight into coaching, spending his first 15 years as assistant coaches at a number of different collegiate programs. Those include; Cerritos Junior College, Cal State Fullerton University, University of Tennessee, Ole Miss University, Oklahoma University, and Arizona State University. Then, from 2003-2006 he was a part of the New York Yankees Organization. From 2007-2008 he was back into the college ranks, coaching at the University of South Carolina and Auburn University. From 2009-2011 he was back into professional baseball, coaching in the Los Angeles Angels Organization, then back to college from 2012-2013 as the recruiting coordinator for the University of Tennessee. In 2014, he was hired on at Texas Christian University where he still remains as the Associate Head Coach. In this episode, we start off talking about his coaching journey, how he first got into coaching and how he was able to move up so quickly in the ranks. We also dive into how Coach Mosiello goes about working with his hitters, discussing making hitters uncomfortable and “hitting in the air”. Coach Mosiello and I also talk about the art of hitting, and the fact that it has not changed throughout the years, but the tools available have evolved. Dana Cavalea spent 12 years with the New York Yankees Organization, most of those years as the Director of Strength and Conditioning & Performance Enhancement; winning a World Series in 2009. He is here to help take you and your life PRO.   In this episode, we discuss his training methodology for optimal health and performance both on the field and in the workplace.   Coach Cavalea has revamped his methodology into five drives of performance:   Mindset   People get ‘out of order.' Understand that, in the long run, better health equals more wealth. Prioritize your physical and mental wellbeing and realize how ‘this' can get you ‘that.'   Training   We go through different season in our training. If we try to maintain the same high-intensity every day every year, we eventually burn out. Understand where you are today, your stressors, and adjust your programing accordingly. Once you experience repeated success, that momentum will carry you to want to do more. Reach for a daily cardio routine interspersed with 2-3 intense training days (typically). Hire a professional with whom you can align and connect, because working successfully with a trainer means focusing on individualization and constantly building that relationship.   Feuling   Just because it's on the menu, doesn't mean you have to eat it. The way it's on the menu doesn't mean you have to eat it that way. Start simple: Focus on protein with either vegetables, fruit or both. Get in the habit of eating clean and keeping your calories down. Plan ahead: If you know you're going to eat out, offset and balance your meals throughout the rest of the day.   Recovery   Cognitive-Behavioral-Therapy Provides a space for mental and emotional decompression. Gives perspective Empowers Find your transition from work to home. Take a shower, a hot bath, a steam at the gym, or whatever you need to reset.   Influence   If you take care of yourself, your energy and focus will influence the people around you to step up their game and create a championship-based atmosphere.   When it comes to your health and wellness, take that first step. Do a little bit at a time and then celebrate those mini victories and do it again tomorrow. Most of all, “you gotta' do you.” Do what fits. Dana Cavalea spent his career with the New York Yankees Organization as the Director of Strength and Conditioning, training the likes of Jeter, Pettitte, Rivera, and Posada during their greatest years.   Dana wanted to work with the Yankees from a very young age. First, as a player, but later he realized where his passions truly lied: in training, preparing, and coaching others.   He says he manifested a spot in the big leagues, but that doesn't mean he waited for that opportunity to come to him; “Whatever you do, to do well and to be great at it, there's a commitment that goes towards that.”   Today, Dana is a high performance speaker and consultant for Pro Athletes, Entrepreneurs, Business Executives, Workforces, and Universities.
