The Orlando Magic are forcing out their only public address announcer in the franchise's 36-season history. Paul Porter will forever be the in-arena voice of the Magic. He was basically hired by Pat Williams, the cornerstone figure whose life is supposed to be honored this entire 2024-2025 NBA season, himself in 1989. Paul should get to decide on his terms when to walk away. This is another situation where the DeVos family and Alex Martins have handled a situation with a franchise legend very poorly. Dwight Howard, having been inducted into the team's Hall of Fame, has been announced as a first-ballot inductee into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Fully deserved and a no-brainer lock of a decision. Dwight gets in twice in the same year as the 2008 Team USA Olympic ‘Redeem Team' is also going in. Paolo Banchero continues his scorching hot post-All-Star break scoring streak as he won an Eastern Conference Player of the Week award. Didn't win the monthly award, but his play is a big reason why the 38-40 Magic are very close to reaching .500 and claiming the 7th seed in the East with four games left in the regular season before play-in action begins. All of that and more! #LetsGoMagic Warning: Adult Language

In 2019, iScribeHealth recognized that AI could produce accurate doctors' notes, and that the company would no longer need the 120 human scribes it was offering clients. But it kept the leading experts among those scribes to work closely with them to review the notes being generated by AI to make sure they could reproduce the physician's style as well as documenting the information being recorded accurately.According to iScribeHealth CEO & Co-founder Pat Williams, intensive personal attention to the physicians being onboarded is a differentiating advantage for the company. Fast results (“speed to value”) is another differentiator, and deep integration with EHRs is a third.Learn more about iScribeHealth: https://www.iscribehealth.com/Health IT Community: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/

Your now 18-12 Orlando Magic are still 4th in the East and pulled off the gutsiest and greatest regular season win in Kia Center's history. That building has been open since October 2010, and has never seen a better undermanned win like that since the Heart N Hustle season. No Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, or Jalen Suggs. Orlando's top 3 players. No Gary Harris. Lost Mo Wagner in the first quarter, and he may be done for the season if he needs a knee procedure. Wendell Carter Jr. gets ejected in the second period. The Magic were without their best four scorers and still beat Miami in a Pat Williams era throwback comeback win. The 121-114 win tied the biggest comeback in franchise history (you have to go back to November 1989). Cut it to within 10 in the third, then trailed by 22 entering the fourth quarter. The 22-point start of the fourth quarter deficit is tied for the 7th largest comeback victory in NBA history. Cole Anthony had the first 35/5/5 game in less than 30 minutes in team history. Not having Mo Wagner the rest of the season is rough to navigate big picture wise, but for now this is a glorious win over our in-state rival. All of that and more! #LetsGoMagic Warning: Adult Language

Bruce asks Kevin about his fellow ESPN Radio analyst PJ Carlesimo and some of their adventures in dining and how the coach makes sure food for the team is a priority and everyone on the radio team is properly fed. 22:32 ... Bruce tells a quick story about another "old school" coach, the late Paul Silas who worked with Bruce at ESPN and was like PJ in that he always picked up the tab for dinner for the crew because coaches knew that armies travel on their stomachs. 23:03 ... Ross asks Kevin about the mysterious Twitter/X fan "Yanos," and gets a hilarious response. 24:14 .... The LA Clippers have made some very strange moves as they get ready to move into their new building next season and Kevin is not optimistic about their chances for the upcoming season. 27:17 ... What do we make of the crosstown Lakers?  Can LeBron continues playing at such a high level as he approaches his 40th birthday?  Kevin says his days of winning championships are gone. 29:15 ... World B feels the Lakers have been good, but the conference is really tough and Anthony Davis & LeBron may not be physically up to the task of winning big in the postseason. 31:45 ... What about the Denver Nuggets?  Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, as always, are the indispensable guys.  Russell Westbrook and his aggressive style will work well off the bench for Denver next season. 35:18 ... Bruce tees Kevin up for a nice rant on Evan Mobley's max contract. 36:52 ... Jalen Brunson left money on the table on his recent contract and while it was a great gesture on Brunson's part, there could be unintended consequences. 38:44 ... Brunson's move puts the pressure on the Knicks front office to use the money to bring in more talent. 39:39 ... Kevin thinks Brunson may have gotten some grief from the Players Association over his act of generosity. 41:34 ... Bruce wants to know how Klay Thompson will fit in with the Mavs ... Kevin thinks Klay will help Luka Doncic learn how to win and he also likes the potential of Dereck Lively. 45:45 ... The guys discuss NBA executive Pat Williams and what he meant to the NBA and also to the Orlando Magic, the franchise he co-founded.  Williams passed away this past week at the age of 84. 48:27 ... Ross thanks Kevin for joining us and says goodbye TRT 49:29

A lot has happened over the past month. The Magic drafted Tristan da Silva who looked great at Vegas Summer League. Orlando signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from the Nuggets. We re-signed a lot of our own guys, but we sadly let Joe Ingles and Markelle Fultz go. Franz Wagner rightfully got a max rookie contract extension. With that said, Jeff Weltman has been very conservative this summer. We didn't address two of our 3 needs (we've got more shooting, but we don't have a point guard, and we don't have a rim running shot blocking center or a better rebounder). There is valid concern that there's a possibility the Magic take a step back. Other teams in the East got better, while it's not certain that Orlando did as well. It's likely, but it's not certain that the Magic are better. Once Boston kept everyone to try and repeat as champs, it became evident that Jeff Weltman was probably going to slow-play this coming 2024-2025 season and depend on internal growth again. But we have flaws, and after winning 47 games, opponents are going to be even more focused against the Magic moving forward. The patriarch of the Magic, Pat Williams passed. Words do not do justice what he meant to Orlando. All of that and more! #LetsGoMagic Warning: Adult Language

(22:44) The final golf major of the year is at the Royal Troon Golf Course in Scotland. (28:36) Two big time wide receivers have been in the news as NFL training camp will be in full bloom by this time next week. Brandon Aiyuk wants out of San Francisco, but the front office wants him. If he does get shipped elsewhere, I'll explain why that wouldn't be as big of a blow for a 49ers squad expected to compete in the NFC. Then Davonte Adams stated that if he were to play on another team, it would be one where Aaron Rodgers will be under center. Let the rumors begin with the Jets possibly looking to acquire him. Is this an actual possibility? Or is it much ado about nothing? (35:43) There were a couple of passings, unfortunately, to acknowledge in the NBA. One time executive of the Orlando Magic, Pat Williams, dies at 84. And Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, the father of the late, great Kobe Bryant dies at 69. Then you have Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving nursing a broken hand that he suffered during a workout earlier this month as he should be ready come training camp in late September. (39:22) Things in the NHL have been rather quiet, but there have been a couple of signings (Kings Quinton Byfield, 5yr//$31M and Islanders Simon Holmstrom gets a one year deal) Plus, one long time Washington Capitals star, Evgeny Kuznetsov decides to go back home and play in the KHL.
