In this episode, I dive deep into what it really takes to build a systematic marketing strategy for your veterinary practice—one that goes way beyond just running ads or posting on social media. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by all the marketing options out there, or wondered whether your efforts are actually bringing in new clients, you're not alone. I break down why marketing isn't just a collection of random tactics, but a strategic process that should consistently attract, nurture, and convert new clients for your practice. I walk you through the three core functions every veterinary marketing system needs: attracting attention, building trust and credibility, and prompting action. We'll talk about how to get your practice noticed—whether that's through SEO, PPC, social media, or community events—but more importantly, how to move beyond just being seen. I share actionable tips for building genuine trust with pet owners, from leveraging reviews and testimonials to creating educational content and nurturing relationships through email and text sequences. We also take a closer look at the most effective marketing channels for veterinary practices, including how to optimize your Google Business Profile for local SEO, when to use paid ads for quick wins, and how to make the most of organic social media to build community and loyalty. Plus, I'll give you practical advice on crafting offers, setting up follow-up systems, and tracking the metrics that actually matter so you can measure your ROI and keep improving your results. By the end of this episode, you'll have a clear, actionable framework for aligning your marketing tactics with the client journey—so you can stop guessing, start seeing real results, and turn your marketing from a source of stress into a powerful engine for growth. Tom Fields, CFP,® CEO of Fynancial, started his business to solve a problem he identified in the wealth management space: communication channels hadn't evolved for the modern world. He developed Fynancial, a digital communications platform for RIAs, so advisors could offer clients a centralized digital experience on a mobile app. We sat down with Tom to get insight into how advisors can generate conversation and grow their practices by simplifying the client experience.
In this episode of Building the Billion Dollar Business, host Ray Sclafani reframes what it truly means to engage clients in a modern wealth management practice. He challenges the common misconceptions of client engagement which includes emails, gifts, and review meetings, and instead defines true engagement as emotional, intentional, and rooted in value. Ray outlines three pillars of effective engagement: proactive conversations, customized communication, and meaningful milestone recognition. He emphasizes that real engagement must be embedded into firm culture, not just left to the advisor. Listeners are encouraged to use tools like client journey mapping, achievement reviews, and feedback loops to scale meaningful connections. The episode closes with three reflective coaching questions designed to help advisors evolve their approach and deepen client relationships in a commoditized landscape.Key TakeawaysTrue engagement is emotional, intentional, and value-driven, where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.Effective engagement is built on three pillars: proactive conversations that anticipate client needs, customized communication that aligns with how each client processes information, and meaningful recognition of personal milestones. It must be embedded into the culture of the entire firm, not dependent on any one advisor, and requires clear systems, roles, and shared ownership to scale. In today's experience-driven world, clients compare their advisors to brands like Amazon, Apple, and Netflix, expecting personalization, speed, and relevance. When done well, client engagement becomes a strategic asset, creating loyalty, increasing referrals, and strengthening cross-generational relationships.Find Ray and the ClientWise Team on the ClientWise website or LinkedIn | Twitter | Instagram | Facebook | YouTubeTo join one of the largest digital communities of financial advisors, visit exchange.clientwise.com.

Data-Driven B2B Growth in 2025: Insights from Hamlet Azarian of Azarian Growth AgencyIn this episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, Josh Elledge talks with Hamlet Azarian, CEO of Azarian Growth Agency, about how B2B companies can accelerate growth in 2025 using real-time data, AI integration, and signal-based marketing strategies. Hamlet explains how his team helps founder-led startups and mid-market companies break through revenue plateaus by aligning marketing and sales processes with timely, personalized outreach. This conversation reveals the specific tactics, tools, and mindset shifts businesses need to stay competitive in today's fast-changing landscape.Leveraging Signals, AI, and Authenticity for Sustainable GrowthHamlet emphasizes that the traditional, linear sales funnel is being replaced by signal-based marketing, where businesses act on real-time indicators like industry news, contract awards, or leadership changes within target accounts. This approach enables highly relevant outreach that improves conversion rates and strengthens relationships. Azarian Growth Agency uses platforms like Clay, combined with CRMs such as HubSpot or Salesforce, to capture and act on these signals efficiently.Beyond signals, Hamlet shares how his agency has been “AI-first” since 2020, embedding artificial intelligence into marketing and sales workflows for everything from prospect research to content creation. By building “core files” containing brand guidelines, customer personas, and case studies, AI outputs remain accurate, on-brand, and strategically aligned. Human oversight ensures AI acts as a co-pilot, not a replacement, preserving quality and authenticity. For SaaS founders, Hamlet recommends a founder-led social media strategy to generate excitement and credibility before launch. By openly sharing the product journey—including both wins and challenges—leaders can build trust, encourage audience engagement, and create anticipation. Combined with Azarian Growth Agency's selective onboarding process and complimentary exploratory audits, this authenticity-driven approach sets the foundation for long-term, sustainable growth.About Hamlet AzarianHamlet Azarian is the CEO of Azarian Growth Agency, a B2B marketing consultancy specializing in data-driven growth strategies. The Net Promoter System Podcast – Customer Experience Insights from Loyalty Leaders
Episode 252: Most CX maturity assessments ask how you think you're doing. This one demands proof. Erin Wallace, director of client engagement at MyCX from Bain & Company, is helping to lead a fundamental shift in how companies measure CX maturity. Most tools rely on perception-based self-assessments that reward self-promotion over progress. The Customer Experience Roadmap and Accreditation (CXRA) demands verifiable proof—evidence against 55 global, industry-backed standards. It's not always comfortable, but it's often the turning point. Bain's CXRA challenges the internal echo chamber. Erin explains how most assessments rely on surveys sent to a handful of CX insiders, producing a distorted view of reality. The CXRA demands documentation of policies, processes, behaviors, and measurable outcomes such as customer experience metrics, operational KPIs, or business results. It uses outside-in validation to confront that distortion. This isn't academic. It's where things get real. Leaders often push back. Some insist, “We're better than this.” Others admit, “We're not as good as we might think.” That tension is the point. Because CXRA doesn't just assess quality—it measures how consistently CX practices are applied across the business. That's how it exposes the “pockets of brilliance” that never scale, leaving most customers with a fragmented, uneven experience and leadership teams with a false sense of progress. For many leaders, conducting the CXRA offers clarity they've never achieved: a shared fact base, benchmarks of world-class practice, and a clear path forward. It doesn't just reveal what's missing, it builds the conviction to fix it. Guest: Erin Wallace, Director of Client Engagement, Bain & Company Host: Rob Markey, Partner, Bain & Company Give Us Feedback: Help us improve the podcast (feedback link) Key Topics Covered 01:00 – Why perception-based CX tools fall short 02:20 – What defines a successful evidence-based assessment 03:10 – The challenge with identifying “pockets of brilliance” 04:15 – How companies respond to uncomfortable truths 05:40 – Aligning leaders around what “good” really looks like 06:55 – Using 55 global standards to benchmark performance 08:10 – What Bain's CX Roadmap and Accreditation assesses 09:30 – What Erin learned at the X4 2025 Conference in Salt Lake City Time-Stamped Notable Quotes [5:00] “MyCX℠ is a tool anyone in the industry can use, whether you're a strategic advisor, a technology implementer, or a CX practitioner. These should be things we agree on in terms of the standard of excellence for culture, capabilities, and execution.” [6:00] “Most maturity assessments—tools to understand where you are and how you're doing with CX—are survey-based. They're perception-based. We send [them] out to a couple hundred people in the company, see what they think, and how they think they're doing with CX. You usually get back a pretty inactionable result. What's different about MyCX Roadmap and Accreditation, which is based on these global standards, is that it's an evidence-based, outside-in assessment.” [7:00] “It's an opportunity to dig in and have a conversation. And to evaluate the perception with the policy against results.” [8:00] “We look at quality, coverage, and consistency of application across the business. There could very well be a spotlight—like pockets of excellence—that are not applied across the organization in a meaningful way.” “[9:00] “What does good look like, and is that really what we aspire to accomplish? And then what will it take to get there? Because oftentimes, everyone has a different opinion of what is ‘good.' And do we really want to get there? This helps [organizations] break through and get that bigger investment unlock that's required to lead.” Learn more about Bain & Company's CX Roadmap and Accreditation process: https://www.bain.com/consulting-services/customer-strategy-and-marketing/customer-experience-transformation/mycx/ Learn more about the Global CX Standards: https://www.netpromotersystem.com/resources/cx-standards/

In our latest episode, I had the pleasure of diving deep into the world of email marketing with some fantastic guests from Family Pet Health. Joining me were Michael Shirley, co-owner of Family Pet Health, Stephen Shirley, their Director of Operations, and Haley Cameron, who handles social media and public outreach. We explored how veterinary practices can harness the power of email marketing to not only attract new clients but also engage and retain existing ones. This episode is packed with actionable insights that any veterinary practice can implement to boost their email marketing game. We kicked things off by discussing the current state of email marketing at Family Pet Health. Michael shared how their email efforts have been somewhat sporadic, primarily focusing on informational content. However, they've recently ramped up their email frequency, sending out more emails in the last few months than they did in the previous nine months combined. The challenge, as Michael pointed out, has been incorporating strong calls to action in these emails. We then delved into their specific goals, like increasing dental compliance and raising awareness about their fear-free certification. Stephen highlighted the ongoing challenge of improving heartworm compliance, emphasizing the need for better communication with clients. We also touched on the tools they're using, like Pet Desk and Mailchimp, and how they plan to leverage these platforms more effectively. One of the key takeaways from our conversation was the importance of setting clear expectations with clients regarding email frequency and content. We discussed strategies like welcome sequences for new subscribers, win-back sequences for lapsed clients, and nurturing emails that provide valuable information while encouraging action. Michael stressed the need for educational content that guides clients on the next steps, whether that's booking an appointment or learning more about specific services. Haley shared her experiences with community outreach events and how email marketing plays a crucial role in promoting these initiatives. We wrapped up by discussing the value of client feedback and how being responsive can help create a collaborative relationship with clients. Overall, this episode is a treasure trove of practical advice for any veterinary practice looking to enhance their email marketing efforts.
