For decades Sea World has been committed to supporting environmental conservation by providing financial and scientific support to organizations focused on animal rescue and rehabilitation, conservation education, habitat protection and species research. Additionally, the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund has donated more than $19 million in support of animal conservation projects on all seven continents across the globe.  Despite all the good, animal lovers have been asking for years "Is Sea World doing the right thing by their killer whales?"  After one such whale, Tilikum, caused the death of his highly respected trainer, Dawn Brancheau, during a 'Dining with Shamu Show' in 2010, the dangers of keeping such wild and unpredictable animals in captivity were brought to light. The public turned up the heat on the theme park when shortly after it was revealed that Tilikum was involved in two other human deaths.  With the release of controversial films like 'Blackfish", Sea World took a hit and to this day has never fully recovered. This was our experience. Maybe our expectations were too high. Maybe we have seen how it's done properly at Disney too many times for this to be considered acceptable. If you want to compete, you have to do better. Universal, you do many things well. You don't pay attention to guests like you should. Orlando Informer Meet Up group may just be subject to the circumstances of the park, but it reflects poorly on what they wanted to achieve. Before we search for the Shaman of Songs, here are five fast facts about the Na’vi River Journey. 1. The Na’vi Rivier Journey, based on James Cameron’s movie Avatar, had several soft opening previews, but officially opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27, 2017. 2. The winding queue area features textiles created by the Na’vi as well as totems to the Shaman of Songs. 3. The ceiling of the main queue area features a woven map of the Kaspavan river and at night, this map lights up and shows ‘real time’ representations of the various life forms moving along the river. 4.  The 4 and a half minute long river journey features layered projections of various Pandora natives and wildlife coupled with actual sets and video projection mapping technology to make creatures seem three dimensional. 5.  The finale of the attraction features a float past the Shaman of Songs.  There is not much information available about the building of the Shaman of songs animatronic other than it is the most complex animatronic Walt Disney Imagineering has ever created.  Walt Disney Imagineering Executive producer Lisa Girolami says of the animatronic, “…the key is we don't stop until that technology can't be seen.
