Click to access full show notes Hello! Welcome to the RealFastResults.com podcast! We have a very special treat for you. Fred Stuvek is the special guest for this episode. Fred has a very diverse background, and he has achieved great success in many areas of his life. His wisdom can help you immensely, if it you choose to apply it. Stuvek was born in West Virginia, raised in Pennsylvania, and he was actually inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame for his achievements in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He attended the United States Naval Academy, and there, he received three letters as the quarterback of the Midshipmen. After his service in the Navy, serving as a naval officer, he transitioned into the business world, where he held senior leadership positions in both private and public companies, domestically and internationally. The key successes Fred has had include international medical imaging startups, which led to a very successful IPO (initial public offering) and forming private medical services groups that were subsequently sold. So, from the playing field, to the war room, to the boardroom, Fred has proven his leadership throughout his accomplishments. Additionally, Fred is the author of a book titled, It Starts with You, which teaches fundamental principles in management and leadership. Please welcome Fred to the show… Promise: How to Avoid the Traps of First Time Authors Thank you for having me. I look forward to a very lively discussion, and hopefully, this interview will prove valuable to all of you. Life is about decisions. The life you are living is the life that you’ve created, and it’s based upon the decisions that you have made and the habits that you have formed. You aren’t a victim of circumstances, and you aren’t powerless. You should not wait for success to happen because, if you do, it’s going to be a very long wait. You have to take the initiative, seize control, create opportunities, and make something happen. There is something that you can do to release the potential that’s within you, but it’s up to you. This is a process that takes time, and it requires a plan, along with the commitment and discipline to follow through. However, to do this, there are two things that you have to do. You have to develop the mindset and habits for success, since how you think and how you act define you as a person. So, you have to have a plan, with goals, and have the willingness and ability to follow through. That is the basic premise of my book, It Starts with You. It comprehensively and specifically instructs you on what you need to do in order to develop the mindset and habits for success. Click to access full show notes

Episode 9 of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's LEGENDS podcast features 2017 Distinguished Member Tony Gizoni. Gizoni passed away just over a month after his 2017 induction. One of the greatest wrestlers ever to grace the collegiate mat, Tony “Babe” Gizoni was undefeated for seven years in high school and college, winning 108 straight matches. He became the fourth wrestler in Pennsylvania prep history to win three state championships, claiming titles at 101, 103 and 112 pounds from 1946 to 1948 at Washington High School. Gizoni won back-to-back NCAA Division I championships for Waynesburg College. He was also voted Outstanding Wrestler after winning at 121 pounds in 1950 when, as an unseeded wrestler, he defeated the tournament’s top seed – a two-time defending national champion – in the finals. In 1951, wrestling at 123 pounds, he won the title as the No. 1 seed. Trailing in the finals, Gizoni used hand control, back pressure and a hip heist to get a reversal and gain the upper hand in a tight match. That patented move is forever known as the “Gizoni Special.” As a senior in 1952, he was ruled ineligible for the postseason after competing in dual meets and tournaments that were not approved by the NCAA Rules Committee. While at Waynesburg, Gizoni’s 28 dual wins helped the Yellow Jackets to 34 consecutive dual meet wins from 1949 to 1952. Finishing his collegiate career with a 52-0 record, Gizoni’s overall record for high school and college was 120-3-1. The three losses and the tie occurred in his freshman year of high school. Following his competitive days on the mat, Gizoni served in the Korean War and earned a Bronze Star for bravery in combat. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Washington-Greene, the Helms Athletic Foundation Hall of Fame and the Waynesburg College Hall of Fame. As a true legend in the wrestling history of Pennsylvania and the NCAA, Tony Gizoni is honored as a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. This is the first book ever devoted exclusively to Chuck Noll and it is long overdue. You will learn much about this man who was rated the No.5 coach of all time in a poll taken in 2013. Jim O’Brien has interviewed Noll many times through the years and, most recently, he has interviewed some of the great players from those teams of the ‘70s and ‘80s who shed some interesting light on their coach. You also catch up on what’s become of those great players from the Steelers when they were the Team of the Decade. Jim O’Brien is proud to be the only Pittsburgher ever named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Hall of Fame. He was honored at the NCAA Final Four Basketball Tournament in New Orleans in April of 2003. O’Brien has also won the Bob Prince Award for his contributions to journalism, the Vectors’ David L. Lawrence Award for promoting Pittsburgh through his books, and was inducted into the Western Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
