What does it take to develop a champion—not just on the scoreboard, but in life? Coach Tommy Richardson brings 60+ years of wisdom to this question, revealing a framework that transforms athletes from the inside out.At 88 years young, Richardson shares the journey that led him from high school football fields to corporate leadership positions at State Farm, and finally to his current work as a mental performance coach. His "three-dimensional approach" to coaching addresses not just physical skills (first dimension), but also mental training (second dimension) and heart development (third dimension). This comprehensive methodology turned losing programs into championship contenders and eventually led to a stadium being named in his honor.Richardson draws a powerful distinction between success and excellence that challenges conventional thinking about winning. "Success is being number one," he explains, "but excellence is going as far as you can using all that you've got." This philosophy creates athletes who measure themselves against their own potential rather than just the scoreboard. The conversation explores practical frameworks like the SCORE method (Self-discipline, Concentration, Optimistic mindset, Relaxation/Response, Enjoyment) that helps athletes reach peak performance states. Richardson also shares how implementing "After Action Reviews" following competitions transforms even losses into growth opportunities. "You only lose when you stop learning and growing," he emphasizes.Whether you're a coach seeking to develop more complete athletes, a parent supporting a young competitor, or someone striving for personal excellence, Richardson's wisdom offers a roadmap to achievement that extends far beyond sports. His message reminds us that while athletic careers eventually end, the mental, emotional, and character foundations built through sport can last a lifetime. Are you an ATHLETE looking to take your training to the next level? This episode invites you to ponder the real benefits of confronting top-tier teams like Korea early on, ensuring athletes are ready for the grand stage of the Olympic Games. We explore the critical role of high-level international tournaments and the ripple effects of facing elite competitors, not just for glory but for the sheer elevation of one's performance. Social media's growing influence and the admiration for legendary figures like Michael Jordan become focal points in understanding the evolving landscape of sports culture.A thought-provoking critique takes center stage as we examine the current state of sports administration and coaching, challenging inefficiencies and advocating for a system built on merit and objective criteria. With a mix of frustration and hope, we discuss the necessity of revamping coaching structures, the importance of open communication, and the value of fostering genuine growth within national teams. Personal anecdotes shine a light on the intricacies of coaching succession and the often overlooked impact of legacy planning. Our conversations aim to inspire listeners to engage, reflect, and ultimately, to seek out solutions that drive positive change in the world of sports.
Lyn welcomes transformational relationship coach Adriane Magidson to explore the intriguing topic of hidden relationship blocks. Adriane delves into the connection between our subconscious mind, energy, and emotions, explaining how hidden blocks can sabotage our relationship progress, even after extensive personal growth, and how we can uncover and remove them. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many people may not be aware of the subconscious energy and emotional patterns that block their relationships from progressing/ being healthy, even after doing significant personal development work. The seven main chakras in the body represent different aspects of our emotional and energetic health. Blockages or misalignments at these energy points can negatively affect our relationships and personal well-being. Understanding how the masculine and feminine energy dynamic works is crucial in relationships. Couples may unintentionally exude energy that conflicts with their natural core energy, leading to unhealthy behaviours and attraction issues. True happiness and fulfilment comes from within (affirming - I am enough, I am worthy of love). Seeking external validation can lead to a never-ending cycle of dissatisfaction & resentment, while self-love/ acceptance fosters a sense of completeness. BEST MOMENTS "Our subconscious mind is connected to our energy, as well as connected to our emotions. Sometimes we don't know that that's still there." "If you're out of balance with your own natural tendency, that's what has a tendency to manifest." "Sometimes we can really feel we've done a hell of a lot of work on ourselves but we're still not getting the results that we hoped." "It's about letting go, surrendering and trusting. That's the most important aspect of it." Everyone Sheevaun here Driving For Your Success. I think an awesome topic today is about being blessed... so a lot of people want to be blessed. They send blessings, but what is being blessed? Well if you find that you are struggling, that you're stuck, that you're in a funky place, then it's really a good time to double, triple, quadruple down on the idea of how blessed we are. It's not like first world, second world, the third world - it's really taking note of the things that you have in your world your life, your circumstance in and of itself and look for the blessings there. Because listen, if you're focusing on other people and blessing other people and yet you're the one who needs blessing, then you're not in the receiving part of the giving. And receiving if you only give give give you're going to be depleted so this is great formula it is in giving that we receive, so give and receive and give and receive and look in your life for the blessings that are you, that are about you, that are in you, that are around you. Look for the tiniest blessings. I have a dear friend who was hospitalized by some rare disorder while he was traveling in another country and he focused on being blessed for the feeling and the ability to move one of his fingers. And this young man had been completely immobilized and he focused on being blessed in the idea that his one finger moved and then he focused on the next finger and he went through his entire body and it's a couple years later but his blessing is that he's walking and talking. When they said it was impossible so blessings are amazing energy if you focus on the things that you are blessed with and just so you know you are if you've forgotten you are a blessing it's a blessing that you're here so may your world be more filled with light and love and joy and abundance and may the striving for success reach far and wide for anybody who needs extra reminders to be blessed. my name's Sheevaun Moran go to sheevaunmoran.com for more information and to find some cool things that are going to help you get blessed in your business your life, and your relationships! Learn about the ultimate time efficiency hack - the pomodoro. This ultimate productivity is a game changer those those urgent & important tasks you don't really want to do. Get them done faster, so you have more time for those important tasks you want to do. Time Efficiency Hack: The Pomodoro You have tasks you need to do but you do not want to do. It might be something on the computer for work. It might be a manual labor task, such as fixing the lawn mower. We can find ways to sabotage our own intentions unconsciously with distractions. A pomodoro is a set period of time (you might start with 25 minutes) where you focus on only one task with no distractions or context switches. When you are done with the pomodoro, you take a break. The break is important. Go to the bathroom, stretch your legs, get some sun, quickly chat with someone. The goal is to be able to do more back-to-back pomodoros and have the pomodoros be longer. Matt will often have a notepad next to him with a pen. If some random idea comes in his mind that he does not want to forget, such as "I need to buy cilantro at the grocery store," he just quickly writes down "cilantro" and then continues on his task. Chris recommends for those distracted by noises to get foam ear plugs and white noise headphones. It might seem not fun to buckle down and get the work done, but see how much faster you get the work done and how much more time you have to do other things. My friends, it's a special day. I've had it circled on the calendar for several months now. Back in July/August 2023, I had a “Reinvention Series” podcast series where I shared my story of back-pain and many of the trials and challenges I had overall a 3.5 year period. Well, welcome to my new series starting today called “THE ANNOUNCEMENT.” Little did I know that this 3.5 year struggle through the pandemic, surgeries, back-pain, incredible stress, the sale of a portion of my business, and multiple setbacks would lead me to my next step… and it's a BIG ONE…the start of a new fitness & coaching franchise. Yep. IMPACT-X Performance is a new franchise concept that I just launched that combines Fitness, Recovery, Life-Coaching, and Faith. Read that again. In Part 1 of today's ANNOUNCEMENT SERIES, here is what I discuss… 3.5 years of adversity, trial, tribulations, and severe challenge have lead to this moment. What is the ANNOUNCEMENT? My mission & vision of IMPACT-X Performance and WHY I'm so fired-up. Fitness. What makes it different? Recovery. Why put a dedicated “Recovery” area in IMPACT-X Performance (IXP) and what specifically is in it? Life-Coaching. We will call it “SUCCESS COACHING.” But in September, I started the TD IMPACT Life-Coaching Certification. I didn't even know when it started that all this would happen. It really picked-up steam in October 2023. But the life-coaching is something ALL clients/members will have access to. FAITH. Whaaatt? Yep. Why I'm putting faith into one of our 4 core pillars. How am I going to fold-it into the offerings? Do you have to be of “faith” to train there or even have a location? My “cradle-to-grave” concept to help people go from college or certification to IMPACT-MAKER! Final Thoughts. Be a LIGHTHOUSE!! I am so excited. I know that everything happens for a reason. And the pain, challenges, and setbacks that I faced over the a 3.5 year period have all lead to this moment. Buckle-up and today kicks off a several-week series of me going DEEP on all things “WHAT's NEXT?” Please SHARE your enthusiasm of today's episode on your Social Media.
