In the latest edition of the Nareit REIT Report podcast, Doug Bibby, president of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), discussed a new initiative aimed at attracting talent into the real estate industry. The NMHC is part of a collaboration of 29 real estate industry organizations, including Nareit, that are working to highlight the diversity of career paths within the sector. Together they have created Careers Building Communities (CBC), a platform designed for students, educators, and other individuals to explore the industry and learn more about what it takes to obtain education and employment within each sector. “It’s no secret that the job market is really, really tight right now. Commercial real estate is looking to fill literally millions of jobs,” Bibby said.

Kristine Vowles owner of The Luxury Look: Prior to obtaining her real estate license some 30 years ago, Kristine attended college and studied Business Management and Law, then she took Interior Design courses and worked in her Uncles Architectural firm all by the age of 21.  Kristine feels very fortunate to have started her real estate career in the Luxury Market in Las Vegas and she immediately started Staging her properties and getting great results. She and her Mom launched their real estate team, which she still says working with her Mom was the most rewarding. Kristine's passion for the design side of real estate drew her to launch The Luxury Look. Now over operations, the company’s focus is on Interior Design, Staging and Luxury Home consulting. Recently, she was named the Arizona State President for The National Real Estate Staging Association, Voted as one of the Top 100 “Most Influential in the Real Estate Staging Industry”. Kristine has won multiple awards for her work, and she has appeared on National Television and is currently working as the co-author for the books 2nd Edition of “Selling Luxury Homes Mastery” soon to be released.  She currently serves on the Sherwin Williams Pro Advisory Board and Leadership committee for the National Home Staging Assoc.  Her company is the first “Hall of Fame” winner in “Best of Design and Staging” from the City of Scottsdale.
