Gabriel Kaam shares his entrepreneurial journey from web developer to founder of a luxury e-commerce agency serving prestigious brands like Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, and L'Oreal Paris. His specialized approach to helping fashion, beauty, and luxury brands perform better in e-commerce has created a niche that even the largest agencies can't fill.• Founded agency in 2016 after turning his passion for web development into a career• Grew exclusively through referrals rather than cold outreach, which rarely works in the luxury sector• Created a specialized service helping luxury brands create immersive online experiences on enterprise platforms• Positioned his small agency as an advantage rather than limitation when working with prestigious brands• Scaled gradually from solo work to interns to freelancers to building a core team• Found success by focusing on one service rather than trying to do everything• Built sustainability through retainer relationships rather than one-off projects• Recommends transparency in pricing when working with luxury clients• Advises entrepreneurs to start with adjacent markets to luxury before targeting top-tier brands• Values organic growth over rapid expansion to maintain quality and avoid painful contractionsCheck us out online for more episodes about entrepreneurial journeys from zero to success. Welcome to the Propertybuyer Podcast, where we dive deep into the insights shaping Australia's most dynamic property markets. I'm your host, Rich Harvey, and in today's episode, we will explore what's driving Melbourne's high-end property market in 2025. Melbourne's property market has languished somewhat in comparison to other capital cities, but tide is literally turning as we speak, and we are seeing the first green shoots of growth that will spread. I'm thrilled to be joined by one of the most respected names in Melbourne real estate—John Bongiorno, or Jack as he's known to many. With over 40 years of experience and a pivotal role as Senior Director at Marshall White, Jack brings an unmatched perspective on the evolution, trends, and opportunities within the luxury property sector. As a Senior Director of Marshall White, Jack has played a pivotal role in shaping the company into a market leader. Renowned for his commitment to achieving the highest possible sale price for his clients, Jack has conducted over 4,000 auctions, many of which have broken price records—solidifying his reputation as the consummate vendor's auctioneer. Beyond the property world, John's deep sense of community shines through his philanthropic efforts. He is a passionate supporter of several charities, including KOALA Kids, to which he donates the proceeds from his bestselling children's book Santa and His Brother Down Under. Whether mentoring emerging agents, contributing to causes close to his heart, or cheering on Collingwood with his family, John's integrity, generosity, and leadership have left an indelible mark on both the real estate industry and the broader community.

In this episode of the Secrets of the Top 100 Agents podcast, Liam Garman sits down with Goldfields managing director Marco Gattino to dive into the evolving build-to-rent (BTR) sector, the complexities of Australia's housing supply shortage, and what lies ahead for Sydney's luxury property market. They begin by examining how BTR could be a game changer in addressing the housing affordability crisis – provided key factors like land costs, yields and international capital remain favourable. Gattino also underscores the importance of a bipartisan, long-term approach to boosting supply and warns against relying too heavily on short-term demand-side fixes. The episode wraps up with a look at the resilience of Australia's premium property market and why Sydney – with its ongoing supply constraints – is set to remain one of the country's most expensive and in demand cities. Today, we are breaking down the global luxury group Kering. You know Kering from its brands Gucci, YSL, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, and the list goes on. It's a luxury house similar to LVMH, but LVMH over the past five years is up over 40% and Kering is down over 60%. To break down Kering, I am joined by Jonathan Eng, portfolio manager at Causeway. We cover the owners and operators of Kering, the Pinault family. We also discuss wholesale distribution versus retail distribution and brand margin profiles. But Kering's core brand, Gucci, is different from much of what you see in luxury, and we spent a significant amount of time diving into it. What makes Gucci more cyclical than understated luxury? Where do we stand with Gucci today? And how does Jon think about all of this as an investor tapping into his historical context in the space? Please enjoy this breakdown of Kering. The majority of real estate agents don't sell multimillion dollar ‘luxury' properties. Many certainly want to, but most never get the opportunity. For a host of reasons, including a longer sales cycle, competition with new construction, and the perception of having to deal with a more sophisticated clientele. But the main reason, according to Harif Hazera, has more to do with psychology, mindset, and limiting beliefs such as… I'm not educated or sophisticated enough to deal with that crowd… I'm not worthy… Who am I to think I can sell multimillion dollar properties! In this riveting episode, Harif makes a compelling case for becoming a luxury specialist, and how to break through any mental barriers that may be holding you back. Here's a sample of what we discuss: · The #1 thing that enabled Harif to start selling multimillion dollar properties. · Why most real estate agents fail. · What sellers are looking for most in a real estate agent (this will surprise you!) · How to overcome the crippling limiting belief “I'm not worthy”. · The biggest difference between selling a luxury listing… and a traditional listing. · Don't position yourself as a real estate “agent”. Do this instead to stand out from the crowd… · How to transition from agent to investor… · The key to start “attracting” money to fund your deals. · What real estate agents REALLY sell… · Why you must become an “owner” if you want to build true wealth. · The smartest and most strategic people in the world point to this skill as the #1 key to their success (it's not what you think!). · 4 steps to selling anything… · How to raise $25M… before you even have a deal! · Proof that your network equals your net worth. · Much, much more!! More about Harif Hazera: Harif Hazera is one of Central Florida's most trusted and top-selling luxury real estate advisors. He's ranked among the top 1% of all real estate agents nationwide with over 100 million dollars in personal sales, and holds numerous seven figure sales in the Central Florida real estate market.
