On today's show we chat with Ellie Holcomb!Award-winning author and artist Ellie Holcomb has released her new children's book, Spring Sings (B&H Publishing). This beautiful picture book climbed to the No. 1 new release on the "Children's Easter Books" chart on Amazon after release. Check out Spring Sings now. Holcomb uses her beloved lyrical writing style to encourage young readers to watch as the world slowly wakes from winter - to know that the new life of spring also retells the story of God's Son.  Illustrated by Laura Ramos (Sounding Joy), Spring Sings is Holcomb's fourth book in a series. Her children's books include Who Sang the First Song?, Don't Forget to Remember, Sounding Joy, and now Spring Sings."We all know what it feels like to walk through winter seasons, but winter never gets the final word," shares Ellie Holcomb. "Spring always sings a song of hope, reminding us that God loves to make ALL THINGS NEW! This book is an invitation to open our eyes and ears - to hear the beauty all around us, to remember that no matter how dark things may seem, love always has the final word."As she has with her other books, Holcomb will simultaneously release a companion children's album produced by Nathan Dugger. Sing: Spring Songs will be released on March 21st featuring seven songs including five original songs. The project will include the title track, "Spring Sings," which will be available on February 21st on all digital platforms. For eight years, Ellie recorded and toured full-time with her husband's band, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, before stepping off the road when her first child was born. Her solo debut, As Sure As The Sun (2014), landed her a Top 10 hit and a GMA Dove Award for “New Artist of the Year.” Her critically acclaimed sophomore LP, Red Sea Road, followed in 2017. In 2021, she released her third full-length solo project, Canyon, to much acclaim, earning her a second Top 10 radio single with the song, "I Will Carry You." Holcomb has also released four children's books - each with a companion EP of original music written specifically for kids. Her kids' books, Who Sang The First Song? and Don't Forget to Remember have each achieved the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) Bronze Award for selling more than 100,000 copies. Her debut book was also on the ECPA juvenile bestseller list and was a finalist for the 2019 Christian Book Award in the children's category. She has also authored two additional children's books, Don't Forget To Remember and her Christmas book, Sounding Joy, which landed at No. 4 on ECPA's Christian Juvenile Bestsellers, Christmas 2022 list. Her first adult book and devotional, Fighting Words: 100 Days of Speaking Truth into the Darkness (2021), has spent many months on the ECPA Bestseller list and is also a Bronze Award book. ellieholcomb.com@ellieholcombchristianmusicguys.com@christianmusicguys

This week Mike and Sarah talk with singer, songwriter, and author Ellie Holcomb about her new Christmas book, Sounding Joy. Does it sound like falling snow, or a kiss on your cheek? Award-winning recording artist Ellie Holcomb explores this question through a delightful collection of Christmastime scenes, leading up to the discovery that joy sounds like the angels singing that Jesus had been born. Ellie will be releasing children's music as a companion to this board book. Her sweet and lovely celebration of Christmas encourages each reader, young and old, to lift up their voice and repeat sounding joy! Award-winning singer/songwriter and author Ellie Holcomb began her musical career by touring the country with her husband in the Americana band Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. Her honest voice and rich lyrics shined on her first solo album and deemed her the Best New Artist at the 2014 Dove Awards, followed by the hope-inducing Red Sea Road (2017) album and the critically acclaimed album Canyon (2021). In 2018, she created a new generation of little fans with her first children's book and album: Who Sang the First Song? and Don't Forget to Remember, each with companion children's music. There's no escaping hardships in life. Nobody gets a hall pass on setbacks, conflict, heartache, or disappointment. How you respond, though, is a choice- it's up to you. Certainly worrying and feeling overwhelmed are normal responses, but you don't need to get stuck there. Maybe you've been blessed to have some amazing role models who taught you how to turn your heart towards God with vulnerability, prayer, and faith. If not, that's okay- it's never too late to learn how. That's why I'm always so encouraged to spend time with friends who mentor me in their understanding of God and faith, and why I love sharing them with you, too. This week, we're bringing the bright light of Ellie Holcomb to the Dream Big Podcast to talk about her new book, a devotional called Fighting Words, that will be a gift to your life. For eight years, Ellie Holcomb recorded and toured full-time with her husband's band, Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors, before stepping off the road when her first child was born. Her solo debut, As Sure As The Sun (2014), landed her a Top 10 hit on Christian radio with "The Broken Beautiful" and a GMA Dove Award for "New Artist of the Year." Her critically-acclaimed sophomore LP, Red Sea Road, followed in 2017. In subsequent years, Holcomb has released two children's books - each with a companion EP of original music written specifically for kids, the second of which earned her a Dove Award for "Children's Album of the Year," in 2020. This summer she released her third full-length solo project, Canyon, to much acclaim. "A deeper sorrow, a higher hope; to be broken is to be human," Ellie Holcomb says to sum up the content of her latest album. Holcomb most recently performed and interviewed on The TODAY Show with Amy Grant for the special FAITHFUL Project. She and her husband Drew Holcomb have also partnered with Tennessee Tourism for a campaign where they've also released two songs earlier this year. Last year, the Holcombs invited their fans into their home virtually nightly for their now-famed Kitchen Covers during the height of the pandemic. Ellie announces the release of her first devotional book: Fighting Words - 100 Days of Speaking Truth into the Darkness (B&H Publishing), on October 15, 2021. Named after one of her hit songs, "Fighting Words," Holcomb has penned a journaling devotional book filled with encouraging, honest reflections and questions to help you process scripture. Fighting Words is a place where you can wrestle, respond to, and take hold of precious truths in God's Word to help you push back the lies that so often consume, distract, and destroy us. P.S. This week on the podcast, Amy and Mike interview sign, songwriter and author Ellie Holcomb about her new book Don't Forget to Remember. In this delightful board book, Ellie Holcomb uses rhyme and beauty to remind young readers of comforting truths from God. When they see snowflakes fall, they can remember that God made each of us as one of a kind. If they hear the waves crash to shore again and again, they’ll recall that God’s love never runs out. High and low, on sad days and glad days, creation reminds us that God’s love is ever present. Ellie ends her comforting reminder with a message for hearts young and old . . . “And even on days you forget what is true, don’t forget to remember God won’t forget you.” Singer-songwriter—and now author—Ellie Holcomb began her musical career touring the country with her husband in the Americana band Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. Her honest voice and rich lyrics shined on her first solo album and deemed her the Best New Artist at the 2014 Dove Awards. In 2017, she followed with the restorative, hope-inducing Red Sea Road. Ellie, her husband, Drew, and their three children live and make music in Nashville, Tennessee.   See omnystudio.com/policies/listener for privacy information.

Drew and Ellie Holcomb are a husband and wife Americana duo from Nashville, TN.  Shortly after their marriage in 2006, the couple began touring together with Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors.  The band has supported many national touring acts including Ryan Adams, The Avett Brothers, Don Henley, and Willie Nelson.                         Ellie is no longer a touring member of "The Neighbors," and has found success in a solo career as a Christian singer/songwriter.  Her albums As Sure As The Sun and Red Sea Road have both topped the iTunes Christian chart.  Drew Holcomb still tours nationally with Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors and their most recent album, Souvenir, is their most critically acclaimed release yet.  An Evening with Drew and Ellie Holcomb is a special engagement event, allowing The Holcombs to collaborate once again.
