Last week the Regular Joes (all the Regular Joes) travelled from up and down the east coast to gather in Providence RI, for the Rhode Island Comic-Con, AKA the biggest con in the littlest state. After spending a day and a half, roaming the sales floor and checking out the show's guests, the Joes took their traditional Sofa in the lobby of the Omni Providence, to share their experience with you. Who they saw, what they picked up, and why Barry actually bought comics at a comic con. They had a few celebrity guests stop in along the way, including Michelle Ang, Omega from Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and Dr. Britt Burke DMD (AEW) a pro wrestler, and …. yes, a dentist. Hello fellow travelers of the Jundland Wastes! Today on the podcast I break down my Star Wars adventure to Rhode Island Comic Con this past Sunday. It's lunch break with the Traveling the Jundland Wastes Podcast! Where's my Fluffernutter? 

It's that time again! The Rhode Island Author Expo is around the corner and leading up to this I'm chatting with some of the great writers who will be there. The expo takes place on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Crowne Plaza Ballroom in Warwick, Rhode Island.   First up, Evelyn Audet and I talk about the soon-to-be-released book about her years spent living on a boat and sailing around the Caribbean, along with a delightful children's book, and environmentally-conscious YA story.   Keith Carreiro is a longtime friend of the show and we dive into his nine-part series, “The Immortality Wars.” We look at the world he spent a long time creating and the different creatures that inhabit it.   To close out this episode, here's an interview I did with Debra Zannelli at the recent Rhode Island Comic-Con. We talk about her five-part realistic vampire series, with themes of family and abuse, and the work that went into it.

It was last November at the Rhode Island Comic-Con that I met comic writer and artist Rich Woodall. After a little schedule tag, we got the chance to talk all things comics. Rich's resume in the field is lengthy, and includes working on major titles such as Savage Dragon and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well as his many indie creations.   In this episode, Rich and I talk about his work as co-publisher of Black Caravan. An imprint of Scout Comics, Black Caravan publishes horror and sci-fi comics, and we look at the various titles they have out and what is planned for the near future. Rich shares his origins in the comics industry, how he met the folks that gave him his start and the many amazing people he's worked with over the years.
