In a joint interview, Sean George, CEO of diagnostics firm, Invitae, and Christian Henry, CEO of sequencing tools company, Pacific Biosciences, say that “it was clear in the first five minutes of a phone call that they shared a vision for doing something big together.” What comes through the interview is that this partnership is built on a big vision: speeding up the adoption of whole genome sequencing into clinical medicine as the preferred method for genetic testing.
This episode of The Matt Couch Show features a roundtable panel discussion with Chase Geiser, Sean George, Kenny Lee and Eric Matheny as they discuss the treasonous actions of the Biden Administration.

Hur väntas centralbankerna agera i deras räntestrategi?

Our story continues as Michal turns back time to last Thursday, three days before someone in Fairneck will die in a plague-related accident just before Passover. Beth finds a cigarette at Ramban and opens a full investigation, with Shoshana and Ilana at the helm. Meanwhile, Ben gets a visit from an eccentric electrician to help fix some loose wires in the basement...as we've learned, faulty wiring can be quite dangerous. And, a chance meeting between Joey and Ben at The Sleepy Bean Cafe has each of them trying desperately to prove just how handy he is (Spoiler alert: They're both lying). The seventh grade protest against frog dissection has everyone at Ramban letting their guard down (well, except for Beth, who suspects the students are buying drugs on something called Instagram). With The Place catering the event, Joey jumps at the chance to see Shoshana. Will familiar sparks fly, or will it just be a case of nostalgia for the old days? (And, as Michal says, you bet your ham strings Joey is nostalgic walking down those halls again). Meanwhile, Ilana sends her students blindfolded through the school to learn about the darkness plague. She didn't count on them hurting themselves that much. Oh well. How else do we learn? And, Michal takes us back in time to when Joey and Shoshana were high school sweethearts. Maybe they really were as intense as everyone says. So, what actually happened? A freak plague-related accident is about to take place in Fairneck just in time for Passover. Now, Fairneck's resident investigative journalist, Michal Rabinowitz, takes us back to last Tuesday to catch us up on everything we've missed. Even before frogs were swarming the most popular restaurant in town, plagues and small town gossip were creeping up all over the place. Shoshana's romantic history with Joey Kershner, Fairneck's most eligible bachelor, might be getting in the way of her best friend Ilana's marriage plot. And, the over-eighty book club in town is reading the erotic novel Close Encounters on a Time Machine yet again, due to a shared case of pretend dementia. While Fairneck residents are distracted by old and new crushes, erotic novels, and kosher egg rolls, a host of unexplained events start to occur. What's with all the yeshiva students getting lice? Why do the lights keep going out? Are all these cats dying for a reason? And, what in the world is a geese repeller...and, do they sell them online? It's almost Passover, and residents of Fairneck, New Jersey can't help but wonder if the plagues of Egypt are really a thing of the past. The most recent offense? The mysterious appearance of 182 frogs in Joey Kershner's restaurant late last night. Luckily, Fairneck's best investigative journalist is on the case. Michal Rabinowitz, future Pulitzer Prize winner and current seventh grader, is not afraid to dig deep and ask the tough questions, like, why does everyone in town think Joey is so handsome when clearly he's old and gross? All she knows for sure is that someone in Fairneck is about to die, and it's up to Joey who it will be. Want more Fairneck in your life? Follow A Place Called Fairneck on Twitter and Instagram! On this FYI episode, we are joined by Sean George, CEO and co-founder of Invitae one of the innovative frontrunners in the medical genetic testing space. (This episode was recorded: Sep. 10, 2019) Invitae is driven by the provision of affordable genetic testing, clinical-grade accuracy, and transparent reporting practices. In asking different questions than anyone else in the space, Invitae is spearheading a paradigm shift in the diagnostics industry.1 For them, finding scalable solutions, where anyone can access information about medical risks they face and then tailor solutions accordingly, is an ideal outcome. Sean also talks about the declining costs of DNA sequencing and the implications it has for the future of the medical genetics testing industry along with the host of other industries it will benefit. He also touches on how genetic testing can continue to change cancer treatment to ensure that all patients get comprehensive, tailored treatments that deal with the specificities of their case. While being an innovator in this space has provided altruistic benefits for many people outside of the company, finding investors has at times proved to be challenging for Invitae. Sean then gets into what the current investment landscape for biotech companies looks like as well as his suggestions for raising capital moving forward. For all this and more, join us today!
