WCA 2019: IN CONVERSATION WITH TERRI LUBAROFF OF LEGION M (RECORDED AT WONDERCON ANAHEIM, 30TH MARCH 2019) Comic-Con International‘s sibling convention, WonderCon (29th-31st March 2019, Anaheim Convention Center), has over the years grown and developed into a truly epic event in the North America comic convention calendar, selling out over its entire weekend and bringing thousands of talented creators, publishers, artists, writers, cosplayers, actors and actresses and much more to Anaheim in California. WonderCon has developed and evolved from what was primarily a passive ‘experience’ delivering show into one which companies and creators can now bring new projects and share updates on brand new content – we have been lucky to have a couple of correspondents visiting the show as Press, catching up with a number of these fresh stories. One such correspondent is Dan Berry (@fatj00) who met up this weekend with Terri Lubaroff, the COO of multi-platform community-based entertainment company LEGION M, an organisation that we at The Convention Collective have been a fan of pretty much from its inception. LEGION M has been behind one of the most impressive and fastest-paced revolutions in the way that properties have been developed and produced, pulling from the support and funding of its thousands of backers – fans and consumers, all – creating such instant masterpieces as BAD SAMARITAN (David Tennent / Robert Sheehan, dir. Dean Devlin) and MANDY (Nicolas Cage / Andrea Riseborough, dir. Panos Cosmatos)… Whatever LEGION M have put their hand to, from films, television, comics, fan events and more, it’s been a fun ride watching the family grow and thrive with each passing release. And there’s more to come. Here, Dan Berry talks to Terri about the latest developments at LEGION M, what new projects they have to present to fans – including the involvement with highly anticipated cinema release TOLKIEN, the new partnership in Kevin Smith‘s latest film, JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT, and the GIRL WITH NO NAME comic book – and what more we can expect from the community: Find out more about LEGION M at their website, https://legionm.com/ Thanks to Terri for taking time out of her very busy con to talk, and also to Dan Berry for bring the interview to us. Over the course of the weekend of Saturday 27th-Sunday 28th October, Dan Berry served as our 'man on the ground' at Los Angeles Comic Con (formerly known as Stan Lee's Comikase), taking a load of photos, watching some incredible panels and interviewing a couple of the beautiful people, the great and the good, that had been invited as honoured guests. One new company brought a whole bunch of guests with them, to interview on their own dedicated stage at the con: LEGION M, the world's first 'fan owned entertainment media company', an organisation we've been following for some time. We've spoken to a number of the main players in the company, along with several of the creative teams, but here, we felt it was time to talk to someone who is directly responsible for getting the message out there, Terri Lubaroff, who talks to Dan about where Legion M is at the moment and the brand new projects the company has coming down the pipe...
