Mitch Kendra called up Kayden Minear after his 1-1 day at the SMX Next – Motocross Combine at the Hangtown Motocross Classic to talk about the race and much more. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Minear turned pro in Australia at the age of 15 but then got an opportunity to race one event in the U.S. last summer. A moto win at the 2024 Ironman Raceway Scouting Moto Combine turned heads and made his phone ring, changing the trajectory of his life. Now, as a recently turned 18-year-old, he is living full-time in the United States and racing for Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing. The interview covers a bunch of different topics, including having Ryan Dungey as his idol growing up, racing Cole Davies—who is now his teammate on Star Racing—nearly ten years ago, how he ended up in the USA full-time, his early pro years in Australia, the saying he lives by, seeing the Lawrence brothers at races years ago, and more. To learn “bits and bobs” about Minear. “I grew up on the other side of Australia to every pro rider, there's not many pro riders that have come from where I where I grew up,” he said. Note: We did this interview Tuesday afternoon and on Thursday, the team announced Minear would be making his U.S. pro debut at the Thunder Valley National on Saturday, June 7, where he will be #106. We are back for another episode of the podcast and this one is special. I am joined today by none other than Ryan Dungey. He is a future hall of famer and a multiple time Motocross and Supercross champion. On top of this he is a Husband, father and he runs a foundation that supports children with cancer and introduces bicycles into the lives of underprivileged children.Ryan was also the first person I ever recorded a podcast with all the way back in 2017. At that time the concept of Gypsy Tales wasn't even born yet, but that chat ignited what has become a great joy and passion in my life and it was really cool to get to sit down again years later. On this awesome episode of the podcast we talked about how far he has come since 2017, what he has learned since retiring from the sport, his comeback season in 2022, reflecting on his rivalry with Jason Lawrence, his experience trying out for Factory Suzuki, living with Ricky Carmichael, his friendship with James Stewart, his partnership with brands like Target and Nike and much more.Ryan is a brilliant guy and this was a joy to do.SPONSORS:DRINK AG1: http://www.drinkag1.com/gypsytalesMake sure you use the code to get your years free supply of Vitamin D and 5 FREE travel packs!Motosport: http://www.motosport.comThis episode is brought to you by the 50th Anniversary Edition YZ250 2-Stroke - Click the link below to find out more.https://yamahamotorsports.com/models/...MANSCAPED: http://www.manscaped.comGet 20% Off + Free Shipping, with the code GYPSYGANGKRUSH OZ: https://krushoz.comDriTimes: http://www.dritimes.comFIST HANDWEAR: http://www.fisthandwear.comCODE: GYPSYGANG 15%DIXXON: http://www.dixxonquality.com.auTROPICAL AUTO GROUP: http://www.tropicalauto.com.auSUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST ►https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsBG...See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Mike Webb tells more behind-the-scenes stories from working with Ryan Dungey and James Stewart with Team Suzuki. Plus, how it all shut down. Mike Webb lived the dream life, moving to the top of the racing food chain, as Suzuki team manager for the off-road squad and then transitioning into the top of the motocross and supercross team. From tons of GNCC championships to working with Ryan Dungey and James Stewart, Mike saw it all. However, it's not always as glorious as it seems, as Mike's time in the supercross paddock came after Roger De Coster and Ian Harrison left for KTM, and Suzuki's support budget was starting to wane. Mike inherited Ryan Dungey and the 450SX and 450MX titles, but Dungey wanted to leave with Roger, immediately. His Suzuki contract forced him to stay. Then Mike and company faced hard luck trying to defend the titles with Dungey, which left a mark. Mike eventually rebuilt with none other than James Stewart. Years later, Suzuki would shut Mike's factory program down, not once, but twice. There are some deep, deep stories from behind the scenes in this interview you won't want to miss. This is part 2 of our two-part podcast with Webb. The Racer X Exhaust podcast is presented by Yoshimura and Racer X Brand.

Ryan Marcus is an award-winning director, filmmaker, and editor based out of the Orange County, CA. Originally with ambitions of becoming a professional skateboarder, Ryan eventually found his way behind the camera and a job at the iconic 411 Video Magazine. After his tenure at 411, Ryan moved onto DVS where he was responsible for one of the most progressive and forward-thinking motocross commercial ever done in the sport entitled, DVS Flux, with the GEICO Honda team. Eventually, Ryan spent 10+ at Fox as the head of their video department, producing, directing, shooting, and editing projects such as Alway5 with Ryan Dungey, RISE ABOVE with Ken Roczen, Deadman Walking with Justin Mulford, and much more. Now, Ryan is heading up a new studio project at Skullcandy where they are giving back to creatives with a very unique (and free) creative space called Skullcandy Studios in Costa Mesa, CA. For all my creatives out there, this is a must listen. Ryan Marcus shares so many wonderful stories about his experiences in the skate and moto industries, his strengths and weaknesses, and so much more. Ryan is a true creative through and through and I hope all enjoy this conversation. Also, visit us on Patreon for a bonus episode with Ryan where we breakdown his project with Ryan Dungey, Split Decision, where he made Ryan Dungey's KTM 450 disappear while going through set of Supercross whoops. One of America's most successful open-wheel racers on a global stage, Alexander Rossi has carved out a career as one of IndyCar's most compelling drivers. After making five F1 race starts for Manor Marussia in 2015, he stepped back into a reserve role there for 2016 to race for Michael Andretti and Bryan Herta stateside; the partnership paid off with an Indianapolis 500 win in their first try. Giving up his F1 role for good the next year, Rossi spent seven seasons with Andretti, took eight wins, and finished second in points in 2018 before switching to Arrow McLaren for the 2023 season. Outside of IndyCar, he also won the 2021 24 Hours of Daytona alongside Filipe Albuquerque, Helio Castroneves, and Ricky Taylor for Wayne Taylor Racing.Listen Now: Check out this episode featuring Alexander from January 2021! Bailey Kroone was hooked on motocross as soon as he was old enough to race, and always dreamed of becoming a professional motocross racer. He has since worked his way through D23 ARMCA amateur racing, and now competes in the A classes and select Pro Motocross Nationals, fulfilling his childhood dreams. Bailey is proud to have competed in the 2021 Washougal National in the 250 class, especially because his qualifying time seeded him directly into motos. The icing on the cake for that day? Having both his parents there to support him. After a successful 2022 season, Bailey is looking to take the next step in his racing career. After many winters of traveling south to dust off the cobwebs, he plans to dedicate a month or two to full time training at ClubMX this winter. This is something he's thought about for years, and he is excited to see the impact a full-time training program can have on his riding.Bailey continues to race in D23 ARMCA because of the friendships he's made and the quality time he gets to spend with family and friends. Bailey is especially excited to spend time with his nieces who love weekends at the track. Motocross has not only provided him with countless memories, it has also taught him valuable life lessons. Bailey has learned how to be self-sufficient, prepared, mechanically inclined, and dedicated to all that is involved in getting to the track. On race day, Bailey is inspired by Minnesota motocross legend, Ryan Dungey. Inspired by his riding technique on the track, and his kind, generous character off the track, Bailey does all he can to learn from Ryan. Bailey also enjoys pump up music in the morning to set his mentality for the day, and as the day progresses on, a homemade burrito to fuel his body. In addition to riding and racing, Bailey is dedicated to his work and enjoys hobbies like mountain biking, hockey, and scootering. He also enjoys family vacations that expose him to activities non-native to Minnesota.Once advised by his mom to do his best and race to the finish, Bailey applies this mentality to everything he does. As for Bailey's advice, he encourages other D23 ARMCA members to remember to have fun, even when racing becomes serious. He notes, “it's only racing, it's not as serious as you think sometimes and it sure won't last forever!” Bailey is truly grateful for the many people that have supported him and continue to do so, including his parents, his siblings, his closest friends, Barett and Grayson, his local track, BCMX, and his many sponsors that believe in him. This article was prepared by an independent contractor and may not be the view of the board of directors of District 23 ARMCA or any of their sponsors or affiliates.
In this "From the Down & Dirty Show Vault," Jim Beaver has Supercross and Motocross star Ryan Dungey on the show as well as IndyCar star Alexander Rossi.
The first time I met Adam LaRoche and Jason Baker was minutes before we recorded these interviews. What little I knew about both, Baker for his years of work with Dream Traxx and Moto Sandbox, LaRoche for his purposeful end to a twelve-year career in Major League Baseball, turned out to be the big reasons behind Red Bull Imagination. LaRoche's interest in motocross expanded when he retired from baseball, and after some research on private tracks, he messaged Baker to build one on the family's Kansas spread. One thing led to another, like the cornfield track for Ryan Dungey's Red Bull video, and soon Baker talked Tyler Bereman into visiting the site for his own project.
Max and Tallon Vohland discuss Max's second season and what improvements need to be made.
Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey talks to us about his exciting comeback for the 2022 Summer! What he learned, how much he enjoyed it and he answers the big question on if he'll continue racing...
Spencer Wallace began racing motocross at 7 years old and continued competing until he was in middle school. Though he had a brief hiatus from racing through high school, he picked up the sport again after graduation. Spencer competed in his first race back at a Motokazie race in Jordan, and he now competes in the Open C and 14-24 C classes. Spencer's greatest racing accomplishment was winning 2 Motokazie Supercross championships in 2021, and he has goals of defending these titles this year. Spencer also strives to finish in the top 5 in both the D23 ARMCA motocross series and the Spring Creek Super Series this season. And as for the long term, he one day hopes to take to the track at the Loretta Lynn's Amateur Motocross National.Spencer is inspired by top pro riders like James Stewart and Ryan Dungey, but he is also inspired by those who have supported him the most. After a close family friend passed before the 2021 season, Spencer knew he could push his limits and compete to the best of his abilities in his honor. This strong sense of community and support in motocross is what keeps him coming back to the races. Spencer is truly thankful for the many families that have supported his return to racing. In addition to riding and racing, Spencer enjoys playing softball and hockey, and of course some good tunes. Once advised to have fun and enjoy dirt biking, Spencer encourages other D23 ARMCA members to do the same, as well as take a moment to appreciate all they have in the racing community. This article was prepared by an independent contractor and may not be the views of the board of directors of District 23 ARMCA or any of their sponsors or affiliates.
In this interview, MXA test rider Josh Mosiman interviews Eli Tomac and Ryan Dungey, straight after racing against them (and getting lapped by them) at the 2022 Washougal National. Eli Tomac finished second overall with 1-2 moto scores and his win streak was finally broken by Honda's Chase Sexton. Ryan Dungey had a strong day going, but a bike issue in the first moto put him out of podium contention with 37-4 scores. In these interviews, Eli Tomac talks about racing the 2022 FIM World Supercross Championship, Chase Sexton's skills and his qualifying tactics. Ryan Dungey explains how his day went, he talks about his strategy for attempting to salvage a better gate pick on the line (for 450 moto 2) and he talks about his decision for possibly racing Supercross and motocross in 2023.

No the DawgHouse is not retiring… although there are many who wish we would! The big news, breaking as we started to record the show, is the retirement of Ryan Dungey! RevZilla kicks Motorcycle Road Racing in the teeth. This resulted in ANOTHER HUGE RANT… this …time all the guys jump in about MotoAmerica’s effort to attract fans. MotoAmerica had some AWESOME racing from VIRginia International Raceway. JD Beach and Garrett Gerloff WOW!!!! Too bad BEIN thought tennis was more important on day one. Big milestone on American Flat Track! Shayna Texter #52 steps it up! World Superbike was at Imola.

Supercross was in the NJ swamp! Track conditions caused a bunch of crashes including “former” points leader Eli Tomac. Did Marvin Musquin hand the race and extra points to Ryan Dungey? MotoAmerica had good racing at Road Atlanta! Why did it seem Tony Elias was about to cry after race one?? In Supersport Valentin Debise & Garrett Gerloff had a heck of a race. In WBSK why was everyone looking at Jonathan Rea’s Assen?
Ryan Dungey takes time out of his busy press day at Dodger stadium to give us his thoughts as he moves forward this season.
