Jonas Radulich, Lilly Radulich and Mark Radulich provide The Merry Gentlemen 2024 Alternative Commentary. The Merry Gentlemen is a 2024 American Christmas romantic comedy film directed by Peter Sullivan, and starring Britt Robertson and Chad Michael Murray. The film follows a Broadway dancer who stages an all-male, Christmas-themed revue in hopes of saving her parents' small-town performing venue. It was released on Netflix on November 20, 2024.Mark Radulich is joined by his two kids, Jonas (10 years old) and Lily (13 years old), for a special family commentary track on The Merry Gentlemen (Netflix, 2024). In this heartfelt and insightful episode, the Radulich family sits down together to discuss the film's themes, performances, and overall impact, blending humor, personal anecdotes, and unique perspectives. The movie, a contemplative holiday drama that explores themes of redemption and second chances, resonates differently with each member of the family, creating a rich tapestry of commentary.Jonas, with his boundless curiosity and sharp observations, focuses on the film's characters and their actions. He asks thoughtful questions about why certain characters made specific choices, sparking discussions about morality and forgiveness. His youthful perspective brings a fresh lens to the story, allowing Mark and Lily to reflect on the film in ways they might not have considered. For example, Jonas is particularly drawn to the character of Frank, a reclusive hitman seeking redemption, and he notes how the character's transformation parallels classic stories he's read in school. His enthusiasm for drawing comparisons to tales like A Christmas Carol and The Grinch adds a layer of charm to the commentary.Lily, on the other hand, offers a more introspective and emotionally nuanced analysis. As a teenager navigating her own coming-of-age journey, she connects deeply with the film's exploration of personal growth and self-discovery. She shares her thoughts on the protagonist's struggle with inner demons and how the relationships in the movie mirror real-life complexities. Lily's comments often steer the conversation toward more profound topics, such as mental health and the importance of reaching out for help. Her insights demonstrate a maturity beyond her years, and she even challenges her dad's interpretations at times, leading to lively, good-natured debates that showcase the family's close bond.Mark, as the seasoned podcaster and film enthusiast, anchors the discussion with his vast knowledge of cinema and storytelling. He provides context about the movie's production, the director's vision, and how The Merry Gentlemen fits into the larger landscape of holiday films. Mark's passion for movies is evident as he shares behind-the-scenes trivia and fun facts, keeping the tone light and engaging. At the same time, he ensures that Jonas and Lily's voices remain central to the conversation, creating an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere. Mark's ability to balance his role as both a father and a host shines throughout the track, as he deftly guides the discussion while allowing his kids to take the spotlight. The commentary track is peppered with moments of laughter and warmth, as the trio's dynamic makes for an entertaining and heartfelt experience. Jonas's youthful energy, Lily's reflective insights, and Mark's expert commentary combine to create a multifaceted discussion that appeals to listeners of all ages. The family's camaraderie and love for storytelling are palpable, making this special episode a standout addition to Mark's podcast repertoire. Whether you're a fan of The Merry Gentlemen or simply enjoy hearing a family share their thoughts and experiences, this commentary track offers something for everyone, blending holiday spirit with genuine connection and meaningful conversation.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

The Merry Gentlemen, meanwhile, sees Britt Robertson's dancer turn Chad Michael Murray and friends into a topless dance revue to save her parents bar. This week, Tommy is joined by actress Britt Robertson who currently stars in The Merry Gentlemen on Netflix. You know and love Britt from roles in Life Unexpected, The Secret Circle, The Rookie:Feds, I Still Believe, and so much more. In The Merry Gentlemen, Britt plays Ashley, a Broadway dancer who returns home to save her parent's small-town nightclub by staging an all-male Christmas themed review, led by Chad Michael Murray. Yes, this movie is quite steamy, but it's also full of heart and Britt captures the magic of Christmas perfectly. Today, Britt opens up about why it was a no-brainer joining this film, her journey of learning that work doesn't have to be the only thing that defines who she is as a person, how she bonded with Chad Michael Murray over hair, what teaming up with him was like for this film, her ideal sequel idea, why sometimes you need to be pushed out of your circumstances to open the door for life-changing opportunities, why its okay to not always be in control, how she is now conscious of making sure all of her cups are as full as possible, some eye opening things she has learned in therapy, where she sees herself in the future professionally, why she doesn't like to go to movies with anyone she knows and so much more.Subscribe, rate and review this episode if you enjoyed this conversation!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's hard to be familiar and fresh all at the same time....On this very special episode we are going back to school with a new movie that is in theatres (in the US) and on VOD platforms this coming Friday.  It's time for 'The Re-Education of Molly Singer'.In college, attorney Molly Singer (Britt Robertson) was the life of every party. Now, she's about to be fired because she can't leave her partying ways behind. Molly's boss, Brenda (Jaime Pressly), tells Molly there's one way to save her job: re-enroll at her old alma mater, befriend Brenda's socially awkward son, Elliot (Ty Simpkins), and take him from zero to campus hero. Aided by her best friend (Nico Santos), Molly goes to battle with stuck-up hall monitors, boozed-up frat brothers, and her old archenemy in a hilarious quest through the past to save her future.Breathing life into a well worn genre is usually easier said then done, but 'The Re-Education of Molly Singer' actually manages to pull that off as it flips the gender rolls for the leads and actually allows for it's characters to have time to make us care about them in-between gonzo comic set pieces in the traditional vein of the college comedy.  It gives us something comfortable....but in a new way, and we liked it.In advance of the release we had the unique pleasure of sitting down with director Andy Palmer to find out how he got the job, breathing new life into the college comedy, casting Jonathan Lipnicki (Yup, the kid from Jerry Maguire) and so very much more.'The Re-Education of Molly Singer' is in limited theatrical release (in the US) and VOD platforms everywhere on Sept. 29th.

This week we watched the unapologetically optimistic, sci-fi adventure film starring George Clooney and Britt Robertson, "TOMORROWLAND." This one really flew under the radar and was met with middling response from audiences and critics alike, but overall it is a fun ride from start to finish. The lead character Kasey (don't worry, we talk about it), is a bright-eyed and intelligent kid with aspirations of making the future a better place for all. "Kasey acquires a mysterious pin that shows her a utopian, futuristic world of tomorrow and she seeks out the aid of someone who has been there once upon a time, played by a stiff, but still charming George Clooney, the pair set off on a perilous journey, battling robots, the elements and time itself, in an effort to save the future! The movie was directed by Brad Bird who is mostly known for his contributions through animation like "The Iron Giant" "Ratatouille" and "The Incredibles," really set out to create something special and it does offer a great message. Hope you enjoy! Be sure to vote for what movie we watch for review next week: THE LIZZIE McGUIRE MOVIE - Starring Hilary Duff as the spunky and trend-setting teenager Lizzie, from the Disney Channel show of the same name. This follows Lizzie and friends as they take a trip to Italy and a simple case of mistaken identity gives Lizzie McGuire a taste of celebrity life in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. or ELLA ENCHANTED - Starring Anne Hathaway, who is quite accustomed to the whole princess thing but this time around she is in a fantastical world of long ago and plays a girl named Ella who was cursed at a young age and always does whatever people ask of her, eventually Ella strikes out to find the fairy godmother who bestowed this curse and have it broken once and for all. The Critical Breakdown: A Film Podcast

This week, we are discussing Tomorrowland (2015). We both thought this film had an interesting concept with a lot of talent attached. Unfortunately, it wasn't the success story that Disney was hoping for. We also had some audience members asking us to talk about it. We also discuss Party of Five and The Amazing Spider-Man. Tomorrowland was directed by Brad Bird and stars George Clooney, Britt Robertson, and Hugh Laurie.
