Music needs boundaries to be great! Steven talked about starting in Seattle studios, moving his studio, being organized, limiting io inputs, becoming a backup badass, headphone mixers, reamping drums, modular synths, & when to buy your own building. Get access to FREE mixing mini-course: https://MixMasterBundle.com My guest today is Steven Lee Tracy, a writer, musician, producer, mixer and owner of Saint Cecilia Studios in Tucson, Arizona. Steven works with a variety of artists from electronic pop with big modern vocals to indie rock bands to Americana acoustic music. So I look forward to learning more about the ways he can interact with different artists to bring out their best work. This episode is particularly interesting to me because Saint Cecilia is also the patron saint of music. And Cecilia is the name that I gave to my one of a kind, famous MCI console, originally from Criteria Studio C in Miami, that I had here in my studio, The Toy Box Studio, for 15 years. This is the console that recorded hotel California for the Eagles, the Bee Gees staying alive and Saturday night fever, Margaritaville, We're An American Band, and the Grease soundtrack to name just a few. Charlie Eggins, the Rubik's Cube maestro, has just shattered not only records but also our perception of what is humanly possible! Susie had the pleasure of chatting with this puzzle prodigy after he achieved the unthinkable at the Australian Nationals in Moreton Bay in September 2023. Move over Spider-Man, because Charlie here can solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded faster than you can say "web-slinging superhero!" With a mind-blowing time of 12.10 seconds, he has officially secured the World Record single for blindfolded cubing. Did I mention he did it with his eyes closed? Or covered at least. Charlie's talents extend far beyond his impressive solving skills. He's also a YouTube sensation, where you can find him posting videos that are equal parts educational, inspiring, and as addictive as a Rubik's Cube itself. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned speedcuber, Charlie's channel is the place to be if you want to embark on or continue your speedcubing journey. If you're curious for more details on Charlie's remarkable achievements, be sure to check out his WCA profile under the code 2019EGGI02. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. This guy is the real deal, the Rubik's Cube wizard we never knew we needed.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
