Versatile rapper-songwriter and producer King Trav's music infuses crisp lyricism of visions painted with words over sophisticated instrumentation and GRIMEY drum brakes and is a description of thoughts and experiences. King Trav's upcoming project, The Summer's Over, is a continuation of his work that proves his consistency with another incredible offering to add to his catalog. Travs's musical influence was introduced through jazz being inspired by pianist Duke Ellington which transitioned to a love for hip-hop. Other influences include Nas, DMX and Method Man. Raised on the East Side of Buffalo, New York King Trav would begin his journey on the East side which molded him with street smarts that has driven him to becoming an artist and businessman. No stranger to uphill battles Trav has been wired with a fire and persistence that will last the test of time. King Trav's talent as a rapper-songwriter began to bud in Buffalo early on with a few singles followed by his freshman project Humble Pie in 2020. That same year Trav would continue to create a name for himself putting out an EP called Greed. He would then follow up with a third project called The Thesis, which is also documented on a vlog series via Trav's YouTube channel. The project gives listeners a taste of what to come with The Summer's Over. Listeners can expect a six track soulful lyrical painting that contains 20 minutes of truth, experience and an exhibition of love towards hip hop. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/daydreamthedj/message

There isn't much worse than when a parent abandons a child, no matter the age of the child. And Travis knows this first hand as he has lived his whole adult life without his father present in his life for no real reason. Despite efforts made over the past 20 years to get together for dinner or to meet his grandchildren Travs dad just couldn't show up for him. But when Travis was faced with the decision to move 400 miles to help his sister take care of his dad when he needed it there was no hesitation. It is truly amazing what can happen to a family when you silence your ego and let unconditional love take over. This is the tribute Travis gave to his father at his graveside service in October of 2018.

Rob and Sarah (and Chan) record from Rob's home as he prepares to depart to shoot his new Discovery show ‘Rob Riggle: Global Investigator' and he laments the departing of his beard as a result of the show. The gang then launch into a detailed recap of ‘Big Slick Ten' including Sarah's outstanding performance in the softball game and all the other fun that was had in the name of a spectacular cause. They also recap the show portion of Big Slick which this year moved to the Sprint Center and featured a stand up set by our very own Sarah Tiana. The conversation then turns to the NBA & NHL Finals (which as we record were still going on) and everyone gives their thoughts before getting into the very sad news about David Ortiz being shot in the Dominican Republic. We also recap the 13-0 win by the US Women's National Team in the World Cup over Thailand and the mentality behind the beating that happened in that game. As the show winds down Rob talks about his old boss Jon Stewart and the impassioned work he is doing to try to ensure that the 9/11 First Responders continue to get support from the Federal Government.
