We can endure trials because we know they are necessary. We can endure trials because we know the bigger picture. Home Church Questions1. What are some examples of trials you experience in your life? What are some examples of trials we experience since we are “elect exiles” (1:1)? In other words, what types of conflict should a Christian expect to experience? 2. We can endure trials because we know they are temporary (1:6). Share an example of a trial you experienced when you were younger that you no longer experience. What advice would you give to your younger self? How might this advice apply to you today? 3. Our suffering and trials are temporary, and they lead to future glory (1:7). Does the thought of future glory motivate you to faithfully endure and rejoice now? What are some of the specific aspects of future glory that are most motivating to you? What should we do if we are not motivated by this biblical teaching?4. We can endure trials because we know they are necessary (1:6-9). Have you come through any trials in the past that you can look back to and see how your faith was strengthened and proven genuine through it? How might this experience encourage you in your faith today?5. What is an example of a trial you are experiencing now? In what ways can you respond and react to that trial and demonstrate the genuineness of your faith? 6. We can endure trials because we know the bigger picture (vv.10-12). What insights from vv.10-12 are especially fascinating to you?7. How does thinking about “the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories” transform our understanding of trials (v.11)? Spend some time meditating on the life and ministry of Jesus and how this should impact our response to our trials.Pray for the Unreached: The Hausa in Nigeria The Hausa are one of the largest and most influential peoples in West Africa, with deep cultural ties to Islam that make gospel breakthrough extremely difficult. Though they have Scripture and many ministry resources in their language, most remain resistant due to strong religious identity and social pressure. Life can still be challenging, with low literacy and limited opportunities, especially for women. Pray that God would soften hearts among the Hausa, open doors for gospel workers, and raise up local believers who courageously share Christ where following Him is costly.FinancesWeekly Budget 34,615Giving For 12/28 23,342Giving For 01/04 44,237YTD Budget 934,615Giving 895,109 OVER/(UNDER) (39,506) Fellowship Night of WorshipEach year at our Night of Worship, we gather in a circle with the band on the floor alongside the congregation, creating an intimate and meaningful space to begin the year together. Dave Rich continues exploring the believer's work in sanctification through five essential spiritual practices. Understanding God's fatherly discipline transforms trials from sorrowful experiences into opportunities for sanctification, yielding the peaceful fruit of righteousness. The believer's work in sanctification requires embracing various trials as necessary means God uses to refine faith and shape character. Believers participate in their sanctification through fasting, stewardship, and acting virtuously, training themselves in godliness as athletes train their bodies. This believer's work in sanctification is spirit-empowered yet demands intentional effort, as doing good leads to being good through trained behavioral dispositions that result in habitual moral goodness.Download Notes | Download Presentation ★ Support this podcast ★

Send us a text“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:1:3-9).Written and sent out from the morning prayer time of Tommy Hays each day.God bless you and may you have a great day!—Tommy Hays | Messiah Ministrieshttp://messiah-ministries.org

Join us as Pastor Tyler Wilkins teaches how we can have Joy in Christ through our suffering and trials.
If life is a test, how do you pass the test? What's the right answer? The Epistle of First Peter gives us the cheat sheet for passing life's trials, but it requires knowing something about the Day of the LORD and the Jewish apocalyptic worldview.

Trump got more delays in his various trials and RFK Jr. had a brain worm. Wee-peened Trumpists in Georgia continue to hound Fani Willis because she is a black who dares to prosecute the former guy. The bird flu could dominate the headlines soon. Shitler's classified docs trial was indefinitely postponed by Trump appointed fascist judge Aileen Cannon. Dog murderer Governor Kristi Noem canceled her dumb book tour and interviews on FOX and CNN. Efforts by Mama Nazi, AKA Marjorie Taylor Greene, to fire Speaker Mike Johnson were blocked by the House. Florida Dems praised the return of the panther and made the animal their new mascot. A predator Republican blathered something about teens being "ripe" and "fertile." Former President Bush, the lesser, will show his paintings of veterans at Epcot this summer. A nasty anti-choice female hating AG in Alabama wants to go after women crossing state-lines for abortions. In other Handmaid's Tale headlines, a horrific wanker from Texas wants to subpoena the friends of his wife who may have helped her flee the Lonestar Republic for an abortion. The Crabs reviewed the most obese states. Sex workers in Belgium have union representation.
Key dates coming up in various trials of Trump

As the dispensations of God towards His children are exceedingly diverse in different ages- likewise His dealings with individual believers who live at the same time are very different. Why it is so we cannot tell- but we are sure that He has wise reasons for all that He does. In some cases pious people appear to pass through life with scarcely a touch from His rod- while others, who to us do not appear to need more chastisement than those, are held the greater part of their life under the heavy pressure of affliction, with scarcely any intermission.

We can live with joy even as we go through disastrous, difficult moments. It is easier for most people to offer help to others than it is to ask for help. If you are experiencing a difficult trail, reach out to a close friend, your Bible study leader, or your Bible study group and ask for their help. James wrote to encourage the "Twelve Tribes" that was scattered around the world as they would experience "Various Trials". James instructed believers to "Consider" it a 'GREAT' JOY!!!! And assured faith rejoices and grieves, sometimes simultaneously, v6. III. Faith is proved genuine and is purified by trials, vv6-7. IV. Faith loves the unseen Savior, vv8-9

James 1:2 says, "Count it all joy when you fall into various trials." Notice it says WHEN you fall into various trials instead of “IF you fall into various trials.” We're going to face trials. What can we do to ensure we're prepared for them when they come? How can we have a foundation that prevents us from being destroyed when the storms of life occur? We have to be prepared for trials! Please listen to this verse… James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy WHEN you fall into various trials Notice James said WHEN versus “IF you fall into various trials.” And this brings us to Lesson 1… Lesson 1: Expect trials! We're going to face trials. They will come. 1 Peter 4:12 says, “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, AS THOUGH SOME STRANGE THING HAPPENED TO YOU.

Why would a loving God allow this to happen to me- Why would God take this loved one from me so prematurely- Why these trials- Why these health problems- Why this or that- And we're tempted to doubt God in that way. Now beloved, what James show us that rather than giving in to that realm of self-pity, he sets forth the promise that God gives wisdom in trials to those who humbly ask.----TheTruthPulpit.com

We have been given a gift, a precious faith which we have received at baptism. This faith is objective, not something we feel. It is concrete and explicit. It is manifested and articulated in doctrine. We must know the doctrine, this is what we have to believe if we are to be saved...
