To get out of the Self of Trauma that makes one want to enter the spiritual quest in the first place, it is necessary to become fully present. The spiritual quest comes down to the will to be present—the only state in which the ego's obscuration and curvature of space will dissolve. If one can endure the energy of presence, one's vibrational frequency will ascend to the peak of consciousness, from which the entire circle of time can be seen as the present moment. But for nearly every ego, it is impossible to remain present because that would mean its own death.

We have one SELF that is whole and totally consistent with the Joy of God. To which do we use our mind to Identify? Body or Spirit? Are we SPIRIT? Are we a BODY? What is the Source of us? Spirit is in a state of Grace forever and this would be a state of Pure Joy. Body is immersed in duality—peace and war; good and evil; happiness and sorrow. The nature of Grace is constant JOY. This is God-like. What do we use our mind to identify with? We transcend the body didentification for our Spiritual Reality. SPIRIT is filled with Peace and Joy. Let's use the 5 minutes an hour to make contact with this Pure Spirit., this perfect happiness that is the Strength of the Light in us.

In this final episode on our Driving with Jev JOY series we are closing it out strong with some stories and powerful nuggets of truth about... you guessed it... joy. I remember running into people and asking them “how did you get through this” and they said “it's joy. The joy of the Lord is my strength”. These people just decided that their circumstance wouldn't define them and it wouldn't rob them of the joy God had for them in that moment. Brain scans even reveal that when others smile we literally feel a ripple of joy from others. This is such a powerful weapon to get through hard times. When we say joy comes in the morning it isn't a cute melody or saying… it's the truth. Let's choose joy together in our journey's of waiting.

In 35 years of ministry, one of the most significant convictions, I've gained is that we have a deep, deep need forpure joy. The corollary conviction I've developed is that there is very little relationship between the circumstances of our lives and the joy of our souls. Avoiding suffering at all costs does not bring pure joy. Getting everything I want, when I want it does not create great overflowing resevoirs of joy. Comfort and control are not the source of glorious joy.So how do we find pure joy? That's what this episode starts discussing.
