It is in terms of the capacity to experience pain, the more the pain, the higher the life form. A worm experiences little pain, but a dog can actually experience moods. Have you ever noticed that? Haven't you ever seen a dog pout. Dogs can actually grieve over people, and I understand that over at the tracts in West Memphis there are some people who grieve over dogs. I'm not sure. Scientist say that man is at the top of the biological scale because he has the keenest ability to experience pain. What separates us from the animals, I would suggest, is not only our ability to feel pain; rather, it is our ability to feel pain vicariously for others.   But not only that but feel the possibility of pain if we do not change our ways. Have you ever seen an obese parent sitting there at a restaurant and their child is pounding down cookies, soda and ice cream. And you feel sorry for them… The question is not “do you know then well enough to speak into their life… even if you felt tremendous pain for them… the question is would they be willing to listen to you?      Psalm 144:Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips [to keep me from speaking thoughtlessly. 4 Do not incline my heart to [consent to or tolerate] any evil thing, Or to practice deeds of wickedness With men who plan and do evil; And let me not eat of their delicacies (be tempted by their gain). 5 Let the righteous [thoughtfully] strike (correct) me—it is a kindness [done to encourage my spiritual maturity]. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, the US found itself wrapped up in the “Satanic Panic” - a general state of fear revolving around Satanism and satanic ritual, real or imagined. On May 5th, 1993, in West Memphis, AR, three 8-year-old boys—Steven Branch, Michael Moore, and Christopher Byers—were reported missing. Their lifeless bodies were found the following day in a Robin Hood Hills creek, naked and hogtied. Christopher Byers had suffered lacerations, and his genitals had been mutilated. Traffic was halted for some time as the driver was detained and his semi-truck removed from the roadway.Analyst Comment: This case is interesting as this was very likely an intentional act. The driver, who was driving for Raj Transport, had to be forcibly removed from the truck's cab at gunpoint by police.  There is also a bit of confusion regarding this case, as multiple individuals have been arrested under similar circumstances, with nearly the same name, over the past few weeks. Two weeks ago, another Indian driver was arrested in the same area. The driver's booking details revealed his name to be Harvinder Singh, not to be confused with the Harjinder Singh who caused the deaths of three people in Florida two weeks ago. In this case, the Arkansas Singh was highly intoxicated at the time of his arrest, with a BAC of 0.15%. So far, the wrong-way driver from yesterday has not been identified.As a brief summary, the following is a description of recent events which may be confusing due to the similarity of the names of those involved, and the circumstances of each incident:Harjinder Singh: Arrested on August 18th in California after causing the deaths of three on the Florida Turnpike.Harneet Singh: Passenger in Harjinder Singh's truck (and also his brother). One gunman targeted the Church during the all-school morning Mass for the Catholic School co-located with the Church. Local authorities report a total of 2x children killed, and 17x others wounded during the engagement. On February 1, 1997, Charles Newsome, a member of the 18th Street Group was murdered while driving through the Mayfair Apartments in West Memphis, AR. The city was caught in a wave of retaliatory violence between two groups: Foxwood and 18th Street. Kendric Gillum, who was loosely affiliated with Foxwood, became a suspect based on inconsistent and coerced witness testimony from a single eyewitness who initially told police that he did not see anyone at the scene of the crime. The State had no evidence Kendrick was ever at the crime scene, never established motive, and had the testimony of Tarsha LeFlore who confirmed he was with her at her apartment the night of the shooting. Nevertheless, Kendric was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
