Kouri Richins' defense team put in a filing this week ro change Richins' sentencing date from May 13th, 2026 to late June 2026. May 13th happens to be the date The prosecution has objected to this change of date, writing the scheduled day is already beyond the 45 days maximum and suggesting it's Richins' herself who is behind the move not her lawyer's grief over a recently deceased relative. Actor director Timothy Busfield was arraigned on four counts of sexual abuse against minors. These charges stem from when Busfield was directing twins on the set of the series “The Cleaning Lady.” After a pleading “not guilty” at a hearing, Busfield was given bail. Many women have come forward since the 1990's allegding sexual harassment and predatory behavior from Busfield. In a video given to the defense friendly outlet TMZ Busfield called the allegations against him “lies” and swore he would fight the charges. What is a Presbyterian? Is Presbyterianism merely a style of church government, or is it a coherent biblical and theological system? In this episode we welcome Matthew Adams and Ben Ratliff for a lively conversation on Presbyterian identity, church government, and why polity still matters. The discussion begins with Matt Adams's article, "Grassroots Presbyterianism ≠ Congregationalism," and expands into a broader exploration of Presbyterian ecclesiology. Along the way, the panel considers plurality and parity of elders, the role of presbyteries and general assemblies, the importance of connectionalism, and the ways accountability serves the peace, purity, and unity of the church. They also reflect on differences in ecclesial culture among the PCA, OPC, and URCNA, discuss overtures and church courts, and offer practical encouragement for ordinary church members who want to be active, faithful Presbyterians in their local congregations. Matthew Adams serves as Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Dillon, South Carolina. A native of Dillon County, he holds a B.A. in Religious Studies and Christian Counseling from Liberty University and an M.Div. from Erskine Theological Seminary, and he is pursuing doctoral studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. In addition to his pastoral ministry, Adams serves as a council member for the Gospel Reformation Network and co-hosts the podcast Larger for Life. Ben Ratliff serves as Associate Pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, Mississippi. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, he earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Belhaven University and graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson in 2013. Before coming to Cleveland, he served at Providence PCA in Salisbury, Maryland, and later at churches in south Mississippi. Ratliff is also a co-host of the podcast Polity Matters, where helps lead conversations on Presbyterian polity and church government. Born and raised in northeast Ohio, Matthew Ratliff earned an Associate Degree in Baking and Pastry at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. Chef Ratliff stayed on at the CIA for a one-year fellowship as a Teaching Assistant. He completed his internship at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Beach, California, which included working in their five-star, five-diamond restaurant, as well as all other areas of the resort. After his time in sunny California, he returned to the East Coast to become the Assistant Pastry Chef at Little Palm Island Resort & Spa on Little Torch Key, Florida accessible only by boat or seaplane. His next stop would be at Desserts International in Exton, Pennsylvania, where he worked under CMPC (Certified Master Pastry Chef) and owner Gunther Heiland. Desserts International is a wholesale bakery specializing in European style wedding cakes and extravagant desserts that are supplied to top restaurants, casinos, and hotels nationwide.   Chef Ratliff also made his mark at The Inn at Perry Cabin, in St. Michaels, Maryland, a five-star hotel and resort. There he provided custom wedding cakes and creative desserts at the award-winning Sherwood's Landing Restaurant. In October 2007, Chef Ratliff began working at The Everglades Club under CMPC Chris Northmore. Matthew took over as the Pastry Chef at the end of 2019, and currently still works at the club as the Executive Pastry Chef.   Throughout his career, Chef Ratliff has worked with three CMPC's in the United States: Gunther Heiland, Chris Northmore, Frank Volkomer. In addition, he has worked with Stéphane Glacier, MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France Pâtissier). Examining the email that Kouri Richins wrote to investigators looking into the Fentanyl induced death of her husband Eric Richins. Kouri Richins is on trial for the murder and attempted murder of her husband and father of her three children, Eric Richins. Today's testimony was science and fact heavy.
