It's always good to catch up with old members of the PaddleNFin family and today is no different. The Noobs show is happy to welcome PNF alumni Shane LemMon back to the podcast! Listeners may remember when Shane bought the Bass Thumbs podcast to Paddle N Fin for a time. He made the trip to Dale Hollow last year and we had a great time sharing the water and fun times with him and his wife. We start by catching up with what Shane has been up to since then. He continues to do the Bass Thumbs podcast, shining the spotlight on the west coast kayak angling scene, which often gets overlooked by all the coverage we get on the east coast. He also is running a regional tournament trail and also competing in tournaments as well. Shane then also talks about his new partnership with Yamamoto baits as well as a few other well known big name sponsors! We specifically talk about the new Yamamoto Yamatanuki 2.5 bait. Having heard good things about this bait, and seeing Shane highlight it on his social media, he shows off the new bait and goes over the different ways it can be rigged and the many different applications it can be used for. Shane also goes over a few other new offerings from Yamamoto and a bit of juice on special rigging tips and options. We finish out by highlighting a recent tournament he competed in that was captured by a videographer friend of his, and the big bass he caught on camera. All in all, it was great catching up with Shane and learning about the yamatanuki as well! Brad and Doug are back in studio for another hot one! They talk nonsense, mostly, including Brad's preparation to compete in a Last Comic Standing competition.
Brad steps into the studio with Stephanie Curran and Allison Kelly from Mom's Girls (@momsgirlsnl on Instagram!), the hilarious sketch-comedy troupe showcasing their unbelievable talents all across this continent. We discuss their origins and inspirations, the writing process, the vulnerability of performing your own written words, and the importance of focus for a performance artist from script-to-stage (plus some serious shade for @rainemaida).
Join host Brad for a smol-solo-show harping about his struggles with self motivation, the pros and cons of doing your own thing, and why time-management eludes him.
Hosts Brad & Doug discuss who wrote Stuart Little, how little Doug knows about other popular movies (besides Space Jam and Ice Age), and trying to eat like a sensible human.
This week, nutritionist, blogger, and author Liz MacDowell joins me via skype to chat about her approach to balanced eating on a low-carb, plant-based diet. We talk about some issues and misconceptions about both ketogenic and vegan diets, all the while chatting about where we find our balance in eating well.
There’s a big-ass storm outside, so Nick joins us through video chat. He wasn’t prepared for the storm so he’s drinking a strange mix of whatever alcohol could be found in the house. We chat about the snow, Valentine’s Facebook posts, how the day was ruined, and Joel tells a funny Valentine’s story from back...
