As I say in the Business by Nature podcast introduction, when the world is telling us to do business one way, what happens when we do it our own way? If you've ever said: I'm sh*t with money. I've always been bad with money. I'm a failure. I can't do this right. I can't talk to my parents about money anymore. I ought to be better at this, and it terrifies me. I feel like I should be in a better financial place than I am. I actively avoid my money, or I flat out forget about it. My parents have bailed me out more times than I care to admit. Tune into this episode to understand what's ADHD, what's culture, and what's generational differences and all the different intersections that play out. Duncan has a similar way of thinking. She says, “You haven't done the rest of life the way everyone else does it, so why would you do money and business the way everyone else is doing it?” Rachel runs the Money Healing Club, which she dubs “the softest place to land in personal finance.” She used to try to separate her two life passions of Financial Therapy and Art Psychotherapy, but as clients found her, she realized the two weave together for deep money healing that ripples out beyond personal finance. Art is healing, and it's a powerful way to move through blocks without linear pushing. Rachel shares some of the financial support systems, tools and methods she uses with neurodiverse members of her community. She finds that these tools are universally helpful for money healing. Budgets and spreadsheets are typical financial tools, but the methods she employs are approaches such as: Landing softly Being welcomed Creating a judgement free space Joining a friendly community Having a group experience with folks working through similar challenges Body doubling All of these calm and support the nervous system so deep healing can begin. From that space there's an opportunity to connect with values. If you're not just trying to keep yourself out of the red but actually want your money and your spending to mean something, tune in to this latest episode of the Business by Nature podcast. You'll come away with a deeper understanding of the neuroscience at play in your brain so you can circumnavigate the urge to impulse shop as well as the crash state that weakens resolve. Rachel Duncan is a Financial Therapist and Art Therapist. She helps people who impulse spend and avoid money regain their confidence and knowledge about finances. She works 1:1, hosts a community, and runs group intensives. You can find her at moneyhealingclub.com and on Instagram @moneyhealingclub. Rachel runs several short get togethers in the club each week, including Money Dates and all facets of Financial Therapy. Rachel took the Force of Nature quiz and found out she's a River. This makes total sense given how she weaves together her skills into one holistic package. Self-help can be an endless circuit of constantly trying to “heal” from your humanness. As a trauma-informed life coach, Danelle Gallo, aka Nurse Nell, helps women face their fears and gently coax what's hidden in the subconscious mind and body into the light where: Shame dissolves Destructive patterns are broken Heavy burdens are finally surrendered Pleasure is remembered Safety is found Soft, glowing joy becomes your baseline Danelle's philosophy is: All parts of you are innocent. Even the darkest, hairiest, most disgusting, most disturbing parts. Danelle helps you relate to all your parts in a novel and magical way that will change how you see yourself and, therefore, everything else. In this episode we bond over how being a human is an intense experience, especially for neurodivergent women. No one is officially taught how to exist in a body. And, even though bodies are similar, no one knows what anyone else experiences in their body. This conversation will show you new ways of relating to yourself, your memories and experiences. You'll also learn Danelle's 6-step system for recalibrating when dysregulated. This simple process helps rebuild trust in mind, body and spirit while coming back to the present. Danelle is a resource for the lived experience. She's a nurse with a master's degree in Chinese medicine who's also a trauma-informed life coach certified in Existential Kink, meditation and yoga. Connect with her on Facebook and Instagram @nurse_nell where she has links to her classes in shadow work, banishing anxiety, and relationship alchemy. Danelle also offers free consultations to explore 1:1 coaching. Her Too Human with Nurse Nell podcast is another great free resource she creates to lead you back to yourself.
A trailblazing new podcast called “The Telepathy Tapes” launched recently. The host, Ky Dickens, takes listeners on a journey into the “shockingly” conscious world of non-speaking individuals with autism. Non-speaking autistic individuals have been looked down upon and dismissed as “less than” for much of their lives, and yet it's being revealed that not only are they communicating — they are doing so through the mind only — what we call telepathy. Many people have shared this podcast with me because I've been recently diagnosed as autistic. This diagnosis has literally made clear thousands of things about myself and my life that I couldn't explain. Obviously I'm on a different part of the spectrum because I can communicate verbally. I also present in culturally-normative ways that eased my path in some ways but also created that mask of being unseen for who and how I am for so many decades. What you may not know is that I'm also able to communicate with unseen realms. I became aware of this ability in my 20s, and yet it's still hard for me to talk about — mostly because it's often faced with skepticism. This is the tender part that feels sad about “The Telepathy Tapes” because it has taken so long for unseen gifts to be taken seriously. In this episode of the Business By Nature Podcast, I share my musings on this new podcast and give words to some things not so easily expressed by others. I do recommend listening to “The Telepathy Tapes” — because it is much needed in this world. In this episode I also mention my teacher Mellissa Seaman and her teacher Maria Yracebruru — check them out!

Carrigan Ham returns to the Business By Nature podcast this month as a followup to episode 24: Cultivating Your Volcanic Nature with Carrigan Ham. In that episode we discussed the importance of archetypes, so you may want to tune into that one first for more context. We'll be recording six episodes in all, one for each Force of Nature archetype from the Force of Nature quiz. Carrigan's Force of Nature archetype is Earthquake. She speaks to how this resonates in her life and business. In this episode you'll come away with a deeper understanding of the Earthquake archetype, both the gifts and the challenges. And since both Carrigan and Elyna studied earth sciences, you also get to learn about actual earthquakes to deepen the metaphor of viewing this natural force as it applies to situations in your life. Whether or not your Force of Nature archetype is Earthquake, you'll learn where you might need to call on this archetype to really shake sh*t up… because, ultimately, utilizing aspects of all six Force of Nature types becomes a powerful toolkit for business challenges. Weaving together seemingly disparate paths is a gift of Earthquake types. Carrigan leads transformations by showing people how to alchemize past pain into personal power through functional medicine, mind-body medicine, and depth psychology. For years Katharine Campbell Hirst wanted THE BOOK about how women create businesses differently, and it didn't exist. Then she was waiting until she was a big enough vessel to write this book. A big ah-ha! came when she considered taking a researcher approach by interviewing women business owners with 7-, 8-, and 9-figure businesses that they run their own way. This “quest” is called The Baubo Project, named after the goddess who helped Demeter get her mojo back after her daughter Persephone was abducted. Katharine embodies her own teachings in this project by letting go of timelines and rules about how a book is done. The book is birthing itself on its own timeline. As a coach for entrepreneurs and executives, Katharine's work lives at the intersection of business and psychology. In this episode, she shares her three stages of coaching as well as how to get unstuck when fallow periods arrive. Her invitation: what if you just started from what feels good and pulls you in the first place? Her quest is to help women remember how they create when they create in their own way. This episode will help you release any notions of a “business playbook” and remember that you can do things your own way. Bring on the self authority and trust! Katharine took the Force of Nature Quiz. She's an Earthquake, here to shake things up. She has the unique gift of seeing underneath what's happening as women try to fit in a masculine world. Listen in to this conversation to wake up and be reminded that it's never too late to build a new thing or rebuild an existing business from a place of alignment. Rachel Budde, founder of the natural, head-to-toe body care line Fat and The Moon, sees the world through the eyes of nature, because we are nature. YOU are nature. This statement captures what she wants to heal in the world. In this conversation with Rachel, a passionate herbalist who also runs a successful product-based business founded on her values of nourishment, we discuss business as an act of optimism needed to counterbalance pain in the world. Business itself is a very creative entity. How we use it is up to us! It can be a tool for good as well as curiosity. This episode is filled with perspectives that will shift how you see the world, your business, body, and challenges. Rachel drops deep wisdom on: Understanding digestion and how other natural processes can help shift cultural paradigms, Micro-practices as the practical way to stay self centered in a busy life, Pushing leading to paralysis because it's a short-term depletion cycle , The important skill of resilience, Business being a microcosm of what you can apply to your life, and Different fuels being needed for different phases of life and business. In this conversation, Rachel shares how often we can't think our way through challenges that arise. We have to open our awareness and take in something new, often surprising. This is how we shift. 5 Things To NOT Do This January Happy New Year! The way society tells us to approach January is often damaging for people's energy! This is meant to be a guide to approach January in a way that is helpful & healthy. #1: DO NOT Envision Your Absolute Dream Year Dreams are beautiful & you should steer towards them, but big dreams take time! It will not manifest in one year's time. Have it be steps towards that dream, not the ENTIRE dream smashed into one year. #2: DO NOT Create a Plan with No Tested Experience If you do this, you basically created something in a vacuum, & it may not go as planned. If you have a new idea, instead of making this entire plan built around it, take this idea & try it in a small way & see how it goes. #3: DO NOT Make a Complicated To-Do List Do not let your hyper motivated January energy make you feel constricted the rest of the year. Instead make a general map so you are not locked in to a to-do list that may not ring true for you the rest of the year. Picture that you are making a list for a friend. #4: DO NOT Spend Most of the Month in Your Head Thinking January is still winter, actually deep winter! We are still supposed to be resting, hibernating, & preparing for the coming Spring. To actually shift to a “hurry up & figure all this out” mode is actually not very good for you. Notice your thoughts & inspirations, but do not feel you need to make them happen immediately. #5: DO NOT Check Out This is such a human action, but by fully checking out, you are not giving any opportunity to some magic that might happen. You need to have some routines & discipline, but this does not need to be full time. #6: DO NOT Just Pray Part of working with the Spirit is taking action. If you only pray, you are not allowing the Spirit to make the magic happen by boosting your action.
Don't Build Your Business That Way I wish to instill a little amount in fear in you, for the sake of liberation! The fear: Do not build your business the way someone else is building theirs as this will not help you feel fulfilled. When we look at someone else's business there is a good chance they have a very different nature than us, even if they are interested in similar things as us. This means building your business just like theirs & how it works for them will most likely not work for you. This will just lead to exhaustion, anger, frustration, and most likely not success. It is more important to find a way to build your business that matches your nature. That supports your needs & wants & tends to how you operate. That leads to flow, ease, productivity, joy, success, more money, & achieving your goals. Following your nature leads to harmony. Personal inventory: Who do I “glorify” or try to model my business after? It can be very unconscious. Then notice do I need to use that person's work as a model or maybe shift it to just being an inspiration.
The Secret Gems of Collaboration Work for yourself….but together Whether it is creative collaboration, hiring help, or doing a trade for services… Working with another person has serious perks and here are 7. But first let me tell you about my farm box, I promise, it's related. My farm box gives me a whole variety of hidden gems, the things I never signed up for, but that endlessly provide value. It is already paid for & if I do not use it, it will rot & be a waste, so this motivates me more to interact with them/eat them It is very convenient! It gets delivered to my door & is just waiting for me in my fridge & I see it everyday so I am more motivated to get creative with what I have. I usually have surplus, so I get to share with others around me which creates a sense of community. I get some items I don't think I would have picked out myself, so I get to discover something new. Collaboration can look many different ways: paid help, partnership on a specific project, or doing a trade with someone. So the 7 Secret Gems of Collaboration are as follows: When you work with someone else, you tend to make deadlines to get elements completed. You schedule calls together to keep the process moving forward. Because you are in consistent contact with this other person, you have to be prepared for what you both are working on. This makes for a level of accountability. When you are interacting with another person on a project, you can bring words to your thought and ideas that you may not have had without the other person there. New & fresh ideas will flow more easily just for you because of the interaction of another human being. The other person most likely will then ask clarifying questions are get inspiration from what you said. This will add new perspectives, more ideas or possibilities, or even a completely different way to look at a certain situation or problem. Someone else is going to have a different way of doing things that could improve the entire operation. It could be basic organization elements that make everything go smoother, or just the way things are communicated is a different way that helps the collective. Collaboration allows each member to play to their strengths & “stay in their zone”. That way one person does not feel responsible for the whole & therefore can free up a lot of energy, time, or resources. The energy & joy that comes from just interacting with another person. We as humans do well with connection & especially in businesses nowadays, we don't have that as much. So collaborations, in whatever form, make us more human.
Get Mythic with Social Media Why do we think we need to have social media? Market ourselves Make a statement Let people know what you are doing Announce Sell Brand Do do do do do What are the actual blessing of social media Expression Magic connections Visual representation Vibe representation Eye contact Transmission Honesty BE BE BE BE I want to help people come back to the magical element of social media. I have helped my clients by helping them find a mythic overlay on their social media, to give them direction in an otherwise sea of “it could be anything” Things that can help lead your social media plan: -Aspects of Mythic Day of the Week -What month are we in? What energy is that bringing? -What season of your Business are you in? What energy is that bringing? -What is the Moon doing? What energy is that bringing? Our obsession with the sun is costing us true creation. Tracing the history of the 7 days of the week led me to interesting realizations about our value on the Sun. Self-realization, self- actualization, self-awareness. These are great, don't get me wrong. But SELF is actually made up of genes passed down from people and elements for THOUSANDS of years. Your body is from the earth, wild to think of the earth as your ancestor. And in our self growth - we seem to have disregarded the affects of those “selves” that created you - your ancestors - and their lived experiences of sorrow, heartbreak, oppression, rage, stress, loneliness….every human experience.
