The first ad was very long, and when you followed it up with a second long at (that sounded like it was for the same product?), that was enough for me. You really like the phrase, "You guys." I'm sitting in my room alone. I'm the only one here. Mentioned in This EpisodePodurama.comListener FeedbackWe got some feedback from Brad Shreve:I hope you've been well. I'm dropping you an email because I rarely disagree with you, but I think you missed the mark on Shadow Clock Reviewed on the 2/14 episode of The Podcast Rodeo Show. The kitchen garbage at the beginning floored me because I have no idea why anyone would leave that in, but once she got past that, she nailed it, IMO. She set it up well, teased me so I wanted to hear more, and his background was interesting to me because it all related to eventually becoming a bank robber. You were immediately frustrated when he was talking about fishing on the Mississippi whereas I knew right away it would lead to bootlegging. If I was wrong, it was short enough to give her the benefit of doubt (since it was my first time listening) that it would tie in somehow. From that point up until where you ended it, I think only a few words were wasted because while I would find a story about bank robbing interesting, I'm more fascinated by how he got there. At least as long as it ties in. If he talked about fishing and it was just a story about fishing, then that would have me scratching my head. Unnecessary was her imagery of pelicans at Alcatraz. It may have been interesting as part of her take at the end, but it seemed odd, boring, and out of place where she had it.There is one other thing where I think she failed - the title. I would never have...

As we reach the never-ending finish line of January, we're hitting the point where a lot of us will lose that momentum. In honor of the amazing Lindsey Schwartz, who's annual event is this weekend, I decided to re-visit this podcast! I truly loved this episode and I hope you will too!Today's interview with one of my mentor's Lindsey Schwartz is all about how to trust your intuition when you are not completely clear. We also talk about building a powerful community and how to monetize this by really listening to the needs of your audience.Lindsey is a best-selling author and the founder of Powerhouse Women. Fiercely committed to supporting other women, Lindsey invests her time in mentoring women and girls of all ages—from high achieving entrepreneurs to high school students. Patrice Washington is known as the Money Maven. She's an investor in Lite Pink, a fully female-funded product business. She spoke at the founder of Lite Pink Lori Harder's home about how people can define their wealth and bring purpose to their lives and their business. She learned, through her own financial journey of building a 7-figure business straight out of college, that building and running a business won't provide happiness if you're having to sacrifice your health and well-being in the process. She also learned that in order to redefine your wealth, you have to redefine parts of yourself. That's how she came up with her Six Pillars of Wealth. Patrice defines the Six Pillars of Wealth as: Fit: the importance of being mentally and physically fit People: creating relationships that matter Space: setting up your life to support you Faith: believing in something greater Work: living your life's purpose Money: achieving the abundance that you desire We do a deep dive into how leading your life from these pillars is what builds true wealth, and how you can level up these six aspects of your life. We've talked before about https://www.theproductboss.com/thepodcast/episode317 (our journey to becoming investors in Lite Pink), a women-led beverage company founded by Lori Harder with a mission of empowering other women and sparking conversations. Now we're excited to dive further into her story with the woman herself! She shares her inspiring story. Lori had a small, isolated life growing up—she grew up in a small town, was homeschooled, and had a very restrictive religious upbringing. Once she started branching out she found that it was really hard to make friends, especially quality ones. She knew she was meant for something bigger. And as she pursued that, she realized that there is only so much that you can do by yourself. You need a network, a tribe, to help you in life. That's where her business started, and that's at the core of what she does today. She also talks about: Making the most of unexpected delays, creating genuine connections, and asking for help in building your business. The biggest message we took away from this conversation is that you are never alone. Whether it's the struggles you face in your business, the problems you're trying to solve in your own life, or the message you're trying to shout out to the world—there are people with you where you're at that you can create a community around. Lauren and I are celebrating a huge business milestone and reflecting on the crazy process of redesigning my personal website and the Lite Pink website. We discuss what we learned about ourselves when we were up against tight deadlines and share how we stayed focused when it felt like there were a million things going on at once. We also chat about a question that a listener sent in about how I phased out previous businesses before launching Lite Pink. After what Chris and I went through in the ‘08/'09 recession, I will always preach having multiple streams of income and getting your bank account to a place that feels good before going all-in on your big dream. What do you feel like is totally out of reach for you, and why? Maybe it's hosting an event, launching a product, or adding on another service to your line up, but regardless of what arena you're in, my number one piece of advice is to start small and scale from there. Lauren and I are talking about times in our lives when we were really manifesting something and it didn't turn out the way we imagined it, but we're so glad it happened that way because there was something even better on the other side. I share more about my journey to getting on fitness magazine covers and the breakthrough that I made about why I wasn't being chosen by editors. Lori Harder is a longtime podcaster, coach, author, serial entrepreneur, and now – a beverage industry founder. She joins the show to talk about her entrepreneurial journey on the way to launching Lite Pink this summer, what she's got planned for the future, and how you can take the same steps when building a brand, launching a project, or tackling a tall task of your own. Touching on her biggest failures and battle with anxiety, Lori gets super personal in this conversation, one that she shares reignited her own passions and intentions related to Lite Pink. It's a common thread we touch on – how working alongside, communicating with, and spending time with fellow female business leaders provides fuel for our own fires. One of the biggest questions that I get asked is why we chose the direct-to-consumer (DTC) route instead of getting on the shelves of major retailers. In today's episode, Lauren and I talk about the benefits of being DTC, how we collect data and insights about our customer base, and how we've harnessed the power of social media to build the Lite Pink brand before we even launch. Being able to connect to our followers and build relationships in the DMs has been an invaluable tool, especially with all the delays we're facing. We discuss how to convert social media comments into sales and create a community of people who truly align with your brand. We also share our major takeaways from working in new and uncertain environments. IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT: Exciting Lite Pink updates Learning that you can still move forward and make decisions even when you don't have all the answers How social media has helped us generate buzz and create the identity of Lite Pink The advantages and challenges of both DTC and launching in retail Creating organic reach on social media RESOURCES Sign up for The Spritz newsletter at litepink.com! I've lost count of how many times I've listened to The Big Leap audiobook, but something new really sticks out to me each time I go back to it. I've been thinking a lot about Gay Hendricks' concept of ‘Upper Limiting' when you are about to step a giant step into something bigger. That's when all of the inner saboteurs, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs come back in. I've realized that in order to quiet those voices, I need to fully immerse myself in my goal. I share how this idea has shown up in my religious childhood, my fitness competition years, my time in network marketing, and now as I'm getting ready to launch Lite Pink. I talk about ways that I've safe-guarded myself to stay on track and build the mental strength that it takes to make those quantum leaps to my dreams. We're joined by our good friend Lindsey Schwartz of Powerhouse Women for today's He Said, She Said! We each share one moment or event of expansiveness when we did something that felt either scary or irresponsible or unreasonable, but it became this moment that radically upleveled us. Lori talks about how back in 2009 when we were starting over again from scratch, we rented an apartment in a ritzy building in Minneapolis, even though it was tiny and out of our comfortable budget range. We wanted to be around people who were at the level we wanted to be at, and over our 18 months of living there, we made it happen. Lindsey talks about her decision to attend her first mastermind event and how she learned to make decisions based on what her future self would do. One of the consistent themes that I notice with the amazing entrepreneurs that I have on this show is their ability to confront their fears and believe that they're truly meant for more than the status quo. Lauren and I are reflecting on that, plus talking about how we've learned to empower each other and play bigger with Lite Pink. We discuss learning how to fail forward, what it takes to expand your network, and how to create a work environment where employees feel supported to take risks. I share how I've helped Lauren build up her confidence and grow from an assistant to an A Player. We also touch on the role that mortality plays in our drive to create this legacy-building company. There's one thing that I've been able to pinpoint as a thread throughout all my success and any of the larger amounts of money that I've been able to make: I put myself into the rooms where the conversation was happening, where the bigger money was being made, and where the other people were winning. Whether it was fitness competitions, network marketing, selling personal development courses, and now launching Lite Pink, it's all because I surrounded myself with people who would push me to pursue my big dreams. I share my journey to getting into those expansive rooms and what you need to be talking about when you get yourself in front of people who are making moves. If you could set up your work schedule and environment however you wanted, what would that look like? I feel so lucky that Lauren and I are aligned with our workflows and are able to maximize our energy, prioritize self care, and still make major progress with building Lite Pink. We discuss some things that people can do if they want to have a conversation with their boss about creating a more flexible and non-traditional routine, and also what to do if you're an entrepreneur. It can be so easy to burn out and feel resentful when it feels like you're working 24/7, but there are ways to find a better work-life balance that will help you reach your goals without constantly sacrificing what makes you happy. Social media ads and traditional PR can be so expensive these days that you have to think outside the box when it comes to getting your name out there, especially as a startup. Lauren and I share ten creative ways that we're using to get people talking about Lite Pink. We discuss why we love text lists, creating opt-ins for Earn Your Happy listeners, and why I decided to write a book while simultaneously launching Lite Pink. I talk about where I see alot of early entrepreneurs get stuck and why it's more important to just put something out there instead of constantly tinkering with it until it's ‘perfect.' Lauren and I also touch on how we're working on overcoming negative self-talk and constantly comparing ourselves to other brands who seem to have it all figured out. Note to self: no one actually does! Because this is my first time launching something in the product-based space, managing my expectations hasn't been the easiest.
