The Beeper Bob Classics continue with this week's entry, The Lords of Flatbush from 1974. Starring Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler, this film follows the mundane lives of 4 friends who have a street gang in late 1950's Brooklyn. What the film lacks in the plot department, it makes up for in poor sound and film quality. Starring Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell the last 80s action movie should be an amazing movie. Unfortunately the production was a nightmare. The director and the producer were at odds, the script was constantly rewritten, and filming ran late and $20 million over budget. Somehow, Tango & Cash still manages to be a watchable and entertaining film. It just falls far short of its potential.

What do you do when you're one of the world's biggest movie stars and the lead in two franchies? Well, if you're Sylvester Stallone, you make one of the more eccentric exercizes in copaganda, Cobra, a barely-coherent thriller with few thrills but a lot of baffling choices. Why do we have a serial killer and a cult? Why is Nielsen dancing with a robot pimp? What in the name of God did he do to that pizza? This is a film that is both very good and very bad--in other words, it's a Cannon Group feature. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Brigitte Nielsen, and Brian Thompson, and directed? by George Cosmatos.

Episode 15 - 1982 was a sleeper year for cinema with some of the most groundbreaking and genre-defining films being released. Sylvester Stallone stars in FIRST BLOOD, the action film that not only broke the mould but with its 2 sequels that were also released in the 80s went a long way to establishing the 80s as the decade of the action film. There is no doubt that John J Rambo is one of two life-changing roles that created the superstar that is Sylvester Stallone. Some actors work a whole career to find one iconic character to embody and Sly had two and played them simultaneously for the next 37 years. The Born to Watch team put their spin on this classic movie and surprised even themselves with some of the revelations they came to. FIRST BLOOD is a gripping action thriller that doesn't stop for its whole 97 minutes of running time. An out-and-out blockbuster upon release, it would go on to take over $100 million dollars and spawn 4 sequels, but it's this movie that stands the test of time and is the benchmark for the franchise. Starring Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, a Vietnam War veteran. The movie was directed by Ted Kotcheff and is based on the novel written by David Morrell, it also stars Richard Crenna (Trautman) and Brian Dennehy (Teasle).First Blood is an excellent movie that highlights the struggles of veterans returning from war. Rambo is a sympathetic character who is simply trying to survive but is forced to fight back when pushed too far. This was a fun episode for the team as they attack an old favourite of theirs. Whitey belts out the Kick Arse Credit Song that could set a new benchmark, Film School tackles Montages and Gow just keeps bringing the heat with his stats. Please follow the Podcast and join our community at https://www.facebook.com/borntowatchpodcastIf you are looking to start a podcast and want a host or guests to pipe in remotely, look no further than Riverside.fmClick the link below https://riverside.fm/?utm_campaign=campaign_1&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=rewardful&via=matthew-white

Bill and Joe dive head first into this infernal shithole of a movie to kick off 2022. In a crime plagued future, Judge Joseph Dredd, has the authority to kill criminals on the spot if necessary. When a maniacal ex-Judge Rico frames Dredd for murder, Dredd must set out to clear his name while leaving a trail of destruction and dumb catchphrases. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Armand Assante, Diane Lane and Rob Schneider.
This week the group carries on with "these are a few of our favorite things" with Sarcastro's pick 1993's action extravaganza from Director, Marco Brambilla, Demolition Man. A movie with so many poor choices you can't believe any of it actually made for a movie people would love, but apparently so many did. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Sandra Bullock, the late Glenn Shadix, Denis Leary and an uncredited cameo by Rob Schneider that everyone thought he was in the opening credits. Also Fatty reminds everyone of the toys released for the movie that weren't at all an afterthought.
