Some days I don't want to be “the mom.” Not because I don't love my daughter—because I do, deeply—but because the mental load is a lot. From the emotional labor to the constant planning and worrying, motherhood can feel all-consuming. In this episode, I talk about the invisible load we carry, the grief of not being our old selves, and the beauty in carving out moments where we get to just be us again.I explore what it feels like to want space, how support systems shape our ability to be present, and why giving ourselves permission to not feel like a mom for a minute can actually make us better ones. It's a raw, honest reflection on identity, presence, and the messy, beautiful push and pull of it all.

This episode is all about taking the high road—especially when it's not easy. I share recent reflections on how I've handled betrayal, awkward run-ins from the past, and the kind of peace that comes from choosing kindness and grace instead of getting the last word. I talk about the powerful reminder that life is small, people reappear, and how proud I am to have led with love—even when I had every reason not to. I open up about what it's like to look back on moments I once felt powerless in, and realize I've grown into someone who doesn't need to prove anything anymore. Sometimes kindness looks like silence. Sometimes it's hot dogs and dyed marshmallows at home with your kid. Either way, I'm reminded that your life will speak for itself. Let it.Follow me on Instagram

I recorded this episode the second I stepped off the treadmill—because the message couldn't wait. What started as a conversation about embracing gray hair at the salon turned into something so much bigger. I talk about how transitioning to gray (or any change, really) isn't about the destination—it's about the bridge it takes to get there. And the same goes for life.We all want quick results, instant transformation. But the truth? The growth, the discomfort, the self-worth—it all happens on the bridge. I share stories from behind the chair, my own experience with getting a nose job later in life, and what it really means to be authentic to you, not some outside idea of perfection. This episode is about embracing the in-between, honoring your timeline, and trusting that the version of you on the other side of the bridge is already within you—you're just becoming her.Follow us on Instagram

In this episode, I'm flipping the script on Women's History Month. Inspired by Dr. Becky's “Good Girls” podcast, I reflect on the conditioning so many of us receive growing up—to be agreeable, likable, selfless, and quiet. I talk about my own moments of breaking that mold, setting boundaries, taking up space, and learning to say “no” without guilt. I also share why sometimes we judge other women for doing what we never gave ourselves permission to do—and how more compassion (for ourselves and others) is the key. It's messy, honest, and a reminder that you're here for more than what you do for others.

Lately, I've been thinking about how we assign meaning to everything—especially when things don't go our way. I came across a passage in Catching Whimsy: 365 Days of Possibility by Bob Goff that hit me: If a door closes, look for a window. It made me realize how often we assume a closed door means something wasn't meant for us when, in reality, maybe we just need to find another way in.I dive into how I've had to crawl through my fair share of windows—whether in business, relationships, or life in general. Sometimes, we look for signs when we really need to be looking for solutions. We tell ourselves stories about why things aren't working instead of just deciding that they will. This episode is a reminder to stop waiting for an open door and start climbing through windows. To take ownership of your path instead of outsourcing your success to fate, the universe, or whatever excuse keeps you from fully committing. If you're feeling stuck, questioning your direction, or waiting for a “sign,” this one's for you.Follow me on Instagram

I get into why taking space for yourself is necessary, why course correction is a good thing, and how trusting the bigger picture can shift everything. Also, a little wisdom from Peloton, a hypnotherapy deep dive, and why I might be having a spiritual awakening in the subway instead of waiting for the cathedral. I've been feeling the pressure of trying to keep up with the world's endless demands, and this week in Chicago, I had one of those slow, reflective moments where everything felt like it was on pause. I found myself questioning whether I was really doing what was best for me or if I was just following the crowd. I spent time with Birdie, had deep conversations with friends, and sat down to journal about those moments when I realized I was off track—even when I thought I had it all figured out. It was a week of acknowledging my mistakes, learning to course correct, and understanding that every misstep is a lesson that brings me closer to my true path. I learned that sometimes, admitting “I thought I was doing what was best, and I was wrong” is the most liberating thing you can do. In those moments of vulnerability, I rediscovered the importance of being present, trusting my inner voice, and embracing every small moment that truly makes life rich and meaningful.Follow me on Instagram

These moments made me pause and ask, “What really matters?”This conversation explores the difference between what society tells us is luxury versus what truly feels luxurious—those meaningful experiences, the human touch, and the joy of simply being present. I even talk about a vision boarding session with Mariah and how a simple exercise with ChatGPT gave us clarity about our goals and how close we already are to living the life we want. We're often so focused on rushing to the next destination that we forget to enjoy the moment, to ask ourselves where we're even trying to go, and to realize we're probably already closer to “enough” than we think.Follow me on Instagram!

I'm diving into something a bit different. Summer's here (well, when you hear this), and I've decided to take an eight-week break from the podcast – and yes, it scares me a little. But here's the thing: I don't want to cling to any identity too tightly, whether it's being a podcaster or a hairstylist.I'm all about following the fun this summer, spending time with my daughter, and just living in the moment. It's a big deal for me to step back and not hold on so tightly to the roles I play. And trust me, it's freeing. I want to live a life that feels good now, not just one that looks good on paper. So, if you're interested in topics like embracing change, living in the present, and finding joy in the little things, this episode is for you. In this episode, I discuss the struggles many of us face when trying to create and share our work with the world. Whether it's content, art, a business, or a new teaching, it's common to feel unready, fear rejection, or obsess over perfection. I often encounter people stuck in the planning stages, never actually putting their ideas out there. Having tried and dabbled in various avenues myself, I've learned a lot about what works for me and what doesn't.A transformative idea I've embraced comes from Rick Rubin, a famous music producer. He views his creations as diary entries—personal, truthful expressions that aren't up for debate. This perspective has freed me from the need for external validation and allowed me to create more authentically. Just like a diary entry, my work is a snapshot of my truth at a particular moment, and it's not about whether it's perfect or widely accepted.I share how this mindset shift has impacted my approach to my work, from hairstyling to podcasting. It's not about getting everything right or pleasing everyone; it's about creating honestly and letting go of the need for approval. This episode is encouragement to women, especially those who feel the call to create but are held back by fear or doubt. You can't do it wrong if you do it honestly and for the right reasons. I hope this inspires you to start creating your own diary entries and sharing them with the world.Make sure to follow for more episodes and come join me over on Instagram @LindsayMakesWaves

Conversely, those with genuine character withstand the test of time, earning respect and recognition through their consistent actions and integrity.
