Making The Bible easy to understand is one of the purposes of this podcast, but it doesn't stop there. It will bring God down to earth for us. We can know Jesus & our place as a child of God. We will understand the connection between the law of attraction
Mark 4:1-10 The parable about the sower who went out to sow some seeds and what the fate of those seeds was based on where they fell. After Jesus was done speaking, when the apostles had Him to themselves they asked Him to explain it.He told them that the Seed is the word of God, and where the seeds are sown is the heart. In truth, doing this portion of the podcast is very time-consuming and without help for me to get this portion done, it will not get done.I have to believe that, for now, the audio podcast is enough, and when I am in a different financial situation I will hire someone to write out the transcript and all that goes along with this portion of it. Till then I am going to have to believe that having this podcast as audio only will be enough. Welcome to the “What does God say to you? Podcast”. This podcast's purpose is to make the Bible relevant to everyday living. My heart is to help you have a close relationship with God, to know him and to know his will for your life through understanding his holy word, the Bible. I believe that God's word is manual for living. I have found clues to help us receive and achieve; according to 3 John 1:2, God wants all his children to be healthy and prosper. A life of fulfillment, contentment, and blessings can be ours. This episode is titled "Having a Personal Revival". If you feel led to support this ministry, I thank you in advance. There is a link in the show notes, the description box, or somewhere on this page with the podcast. We talked about the power of praise, and I said, there's a lot to this, and I'm going to stick with this, and we're going to break it up. And even just one little section of what I talked about could be an entire teaching sermon. So last week was a power praise. And this is what the foundation of the whole thing was. It was about David, who was in the wilderness, very upset and not happy. Life was not easy for him. He was called by God. He was a very good man. There was no justification for the king to be so against him and for him to have to be fearful for his life, but that was the circumstances. That was the circumstance for him. And so this is a portion of Psalms, and it's Psalm 42–43. So this is his cry to God, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God.” my soul thirst for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God? So he's saying, I want you, I need you so much. It's like water to the human body. My tears have been my meat, day and night. While they continually say unto me, where is the God? My tears have been my meat day and night. In other words, he's crying all the time. He's not happy. While they continually say unto me, where is your God? When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me. For I had gone with the multitude. I went with them to the houses of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holy day. So he remembers the past there. Why aren't thou cast my soul? Now he's asking himself this question. And why are you disquieted within me? Hope thy in God, for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance? So he's reminding himself, what are you worried about? You know who God is. You know what he is to you. Now, what does he do again? Oh my God, my soul is cast down within me. Therefore, I will remember them from the land of Jordan and of the hematites and the hill of Mizvah, deep calls unto deep at the noise of thy water spouse, all thy waves and I billows are gone over me.So in that one instance, he remembers Noah and how he delivered Noah from the depths of the water. Yet the Lord will command his loving kindness in the daytime and the night. His song shall be with me and my prayer unto the God of my life, I will say unto my rock, why has thou forgotten to me? Why do I mourn because of the oppression of the enemy? He is so flip-flopping, and he isn't flip-flopping in faith here; he's flip-flopping in emotion. Sometimes we just can't help the emotion that's going on in our lives because of the turmoil that's coming in. But we wanna keep it in check. And this is what he's doing here. We're seeing a real man in faith experiencing real circumstances Because we tend to think that people from the Bible were so different from us. They weren't so different from us.The biggest difference between them from us, it was their training. So let's see, I will say unto God, my rock, I read that already, as with the sword in my bones. My enemy reproaches me while they say daily unto me, where is your God? So he's distressed here. Why now, again, what does he say? He's going in with his distresses. And what he says is to keep it. He's continuing to keep a check on what's going on there. Why art thou cast down, oh, my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God for I shall yet praise him. Who is the health of the count? It's and my God, judge me.So this is going on to the next chapter, which should, in my opinion, have been one complete chapter because of this continual verse that is threaded throughout.Judge me, oh God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation. Deliver me from the deceitful and just man. Now he's saying a prayer, Very different than mine, I am cast down. I am so upset. It's like a sword in my bones. He said, Pray there for thou, my God, of my strength. Why does outcast me off? Why go am I mourning before the oppressor's oppression of the enemy? Oh, send thy light and thy truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me unto thy holy hill and the tabernacles, then will I go unto the altar of God, of God unto God, my exceeding joy ye up upon the heart. Will I praise the oh God, my God. So now, at any of this time, though, with all of this upsetness that he has, is he blaming God?Is he saying I trusted you my whole life? I've been this, and I've been that? Nope, he isn't doing that. He's acknowledging his emotions, and he's feeling them. And then he's rebuking them, he's feeling them, and then he's rebuking them, and he's continually bringing back. Then, shall I go onto the altar of God? God, my exceeding joy? He's not saying, oh God, what are you doing to me? Nowhere did he say, what are you doing to me? He did say, why do you cast me out? These are all just human emotions going on here. Now, what does he do at the end there? Remember, he says my God might exceed joy, even when all these people are saying to him, where's your God now? Where's your God? Look at you out here in the wilderness. Oh yeah, you were the king. You were the king, right? All of that stuff, I think, was easy. It wasn't easy. Why art did thou cast down on my soul? So listen, what do we need to do? See, we need to look at the Bible and find examples and learn what to do. So when you're upset, what do you do?You talk to yourself. That's what you do because that part of you that is completely contrary to what God says that's not you. That's your flesh; that's your circumstances rumbling around in that in that carnal mind, a virus. That's what that, that's not you, because is he talking to him? Who is talking? Here's, there's a better way to say it. Who is talking to himself? Is his flesh talking to himself? No. His spirit is talking to his flesh where body, soul, and spirit. We wanna make sure that our spirit is the strongest thing. Because if it's not, then the body, the flesh, is going to be the one that has all of the authority. So you talk to yourself. Why are, are you upset? Why are you cast down? Oh my soul, why are you cast down? And why are you disquieted? Why is there all of this turmoil in your heart?Hope in God. So what are you gonna do, hope in God for? Guess what I'm gonna do? I am going to yet praise him.Who is the health of my countenance? He is, my God. Now there was another verse that we went into of that. There was a sacrifice of praise. See in Hebrews 13:15, it says, by him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God when continually So does that mean when things are good and bad?Yep. Now, is it a sacrifice? When everything like, in his position where he was in, it was a sacrifice to give praise. Because it was not easy. He did not want to; you don't want to sacrifice. Anything that you give that you want to give is not a sacrifice. What you give that you don't wanna give. Mothers and fathers, you experience this. Anybody that has anybody very dear to them has experienced this where we will sacrifice something on our end to bless somebody else. Like, yeah, I did wanna go on that trip, but so-and-so needs me. I think I'm gonna postpone it. See? that's a sacrifice. Does it mean it's bad? Absolutely not. It just means that it is; so here, it that there is, we are made aware that there are sometimes when we sacrifice in praise, and whenever that happens, it's when we don't wanna do it; things aren't for right. God continually, that is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name. Now, the fruit of our lips, another study that we'll get into the fruit of our lips is what's in your heart. That's the fruit of your lips. Like you plant a peach pit and do a season, the peach comes. That is the fruit of the tree. You know, you can't plant an apple pit or an apple seed and grow a peach tree. A lot of little clues. Do we do what David did? Because we can see what was the fruit of his lips. There's a verse that says, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. So what is the fruit of our lips? We wanna train this. There's another verse. I'm gonna ask God to just bring it to me because I'd like to be able to remember it and share it. To receive prayer, there was a big, big proponent of praise involved in having prayer answered. Now, I was struggling with what to call this today. And so what I decided to go with here is initiating a personal awakening. Like we don't have to wait for this great big awakening to happen in the United States or in the world or anything like that, in a portion of the world. That kind of like grows throughout the land because we've seen them before. If you look it up in history, there have been awakenings. I think there's been three of them. And it's when people of God have, and I'm talking about, there have been awakenings in the Old Testament and that kind of thing I'm talking about in our history. But the point of this is that whenever there was an awakening, like a realization coming back to God, there were always these miracles that were part of them. And major change for individuals, major change for neighborhoods, a major change for states' neighborhoods, and a major change for the country. And absolute miracles, like people, are being raised from the debt, people standing up and walking that couldn't walk before. But we don't have to wait for an awakening. We can have a personal awakening. And that's kind of like what I wanna get into here. The other thing I'm just gonna call this was answered prayer. Answered prayer. So the first thing we have got to come to terms with is that everything good comes from God.If you're experiencing anything negative that is hurtful, that is anything that you would consider that you would call law enforcement on and report that is not from God. In other words, you got into a car accident; you have a major illness. Now, I know that there are religions that teach this. It is absolutely not biblical. There is no biblical standard for that. You look, you find it, and you talk to me about it because it's not there.I'm not saying that bad things don't happen to good people; yes, they do, but I am saying that those bad things did not come from God. And the reason that we have to come to terms with that is that if we believe that that affliction that I have, that prayer answered, that that prayer that I have that I want to be answered has is that the problem is there because God put it there.Well, there's always gonna be this chance that he isn't answering it, right? Because he wants it there. So, in that case, your faith can never be solid. Never. Because in the back of your mind, part of you is going to be thinking, well, maybe this is God's will. The word says without faith, we cannot please God. Jesus Christ, while he was here on earth, could not perform miracles. When a person did not believe a whole neighborhood did not receive much healing. When he was there, it said that he healed a few sick folks because he was the carpenter's son. They just saw him as a regular guy. Who the heck are you? There was no faith there. So he couldn't do it. So it isn't like if you're powerful enough, you'll get it. Nope. Consistently, he said, your faith has made you whole. So if we are going to believe that God gave us something detrimental, there's always gonna be that little waning piece of faith that is not hooked up. And in that case, it's going to be nearly impossible to receive an answer from God unless you have those moments of, I know he wants this for me, and you've come to that con conclusion for any specific thing. But on the whole, if we believe that bad things come from God to teach us something, to tempt us in any way, then we are going; what's happening is we are not standing on what the word of God says. And remember that one verse that we talked about last week, if you were with me last week, it says, submit yourself unto God. Resist the devil, how do you submit yourself to God? You've gotta know what it is to submit to, right? You submit yourself to your parents when you were a child; be home at this time. Don't eat this, this junk food. it's an obeyance. So that's something that we've gotta do.Now what I wanna know is, are we missing something? What's going on for the people of God?What's going on for you and me? Who are the daughters and sons of the most high? God says all the silver and gold are his. It says, in the world will have tribulation be of good comfort. I've overcome the world. He wishes above all things in 3 John, I think it is that we'd be in that we, he wishes above all things that we prosper be in health, even as our soul prosper. So like there's all these, I've come that you have life and have it more than abundantly. So like, there are too many contradictions here.Jeremiah 2:14, says, for my com, my people have committed two evils. They have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters. So what does God call himself? He calls himself a fountain. A fountain is something never-ending. There's no end to it. It doesn't dry up, A fountain of living waters. And what did they do? They forsook God. And what did they do? They hued them out using Cisterns. So they took this fountain that's ever, infinite in possibility, infinite in wetness. And instead of having that fountain in all it is, they've taken these jugs; they put in these cisterns. The cistern is like a jug container, so I'm not getting all of God. I'm just getting a piece of him. And not only am I getting a piece of him, but look at what he says here. Not these cisterns are broken cisterns. So every time we go to fill it up, it falls out. Every time we go to fill it up, it falls out. So something's going on here; we're missing it. There is this almost like science fiction. It's all it. And the reason I could say it almost is because it's not science fiction, it's real. But if we can wrap our heads around this spiritual reality that we have, we can see it as the matrix, You know, not as freaking severe as the Matrix, But if you look at things, in a way that's past our natural, like what we could see here, feel, taste, and touch past that, we see that there's a lot more going on here. And we have been duped. We have been duped, not purposefully, by the people that love us and by religion and whatnot. It happened gradually. There's a verse that says it's in Hebrews. Take heed. Take heed of these things that you have learned. Take heed. What does that mean? Remember, there's action involved here. This stuff isn't passive. There's no passiveness about this. It doesn't just go away one bam at a time. It doesn't just go away in a bam. It's a little tiny drop sometimes; take heed to the things you have learned lest you let them slip and that letting them slip isn't a bam. Oh, it's gone. It's a little teeny bit, a little drop at a time. And I think the main reason why we don't guard this as we should is that we don't even know we're supposed to.We don't even know what we're missing. We don't even know that there, that these possibilities even exist or that we have a job to do. So I want to ask this question. Have we lost our true identities and forfeited our rights as children of God?Has this happened to us? Now, the reason I have the image of the eagle, if you've been following my teachings or whatever you want to call them since I've gotten started, is that analogy of the eagle is at the top of his food chain. There is nothing that can; they have no predators, none. The only thing they are in danger of are human beings, and that's because we're stupid. But otherwise, you know, we have guns. Sometimes people were afraid that eagles would get their livestock and also with pesticides. Other than that, eagles are at the top of their food chain. Nothing cons; screw with an eagle. Nothing can. But what happens if that eagle is malnourished? What happens if that eagle is not feeding itself if it hangs out in its nest and doesn't move much? What happens? That eagle has all the possibility in the world of being mighty strong. The abilities of eagles aren't insane. They can see from two miles away as the tiniest mouse. It wasn't even a mouse that was described. It was a specific kind of mouse, the tiniest mouse that exists from two miles away while flying. It can go 100, just under like 99 points or something miles an hour flying. But what happens if it's malnourished? Then, the smallest creatures, worms or ants, can devour it.And why is that? Because it didn't take care of itself. It didn't take care of its flesh. Well, I can't even say we take good care of our flesh because even that, we don't do even that. We drink crappy drinks. We have stuff with colours and additives and all kinds of stuff in it. We eat tons of sugar. We take care of our flesh, but we do take care of our flesh a heck of a lot more than we take care of our spirit. And it doesn't even have to be taken care of. It's just that we pay attention to it. So even if you, we are feeding ourselves bad food, we're still feeding ourselves, aren't we?And we will get the fruit of that; and what are we feeding our spirits? Well, we're feeding our spirits crap news. We're feeding our spirits. Bad news. We're feeding our spirits. Horror shows. We're feeding our spirits gossip. We're feeding our spirits dramas, right? What we're putting in? So what, what's gonna be strongest? So have we lost our true identity and forfeited our rights as children of God?And have we been doing this? Now I'm gonna read you something from Daniel, Daniel's threeNow, Daniel wasn't involved in this. Daniel was their friend, and he was part of their world, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego But in this particular case, he was not involved in this debacle that was going on here. So the king, Cesar, he got influenced to make this great big statue of himself. And every time that they heard any kind of music, people were to bow to the statue, to kneel to the statue, and to give reverence and ambiance and worship to it.Well, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that was against their religion. God said to them. Before, when I said the difference between these men and us is their training, they knew. I'm doing that right, lest you let them slip. So, oh, you know what? Nobody's gonna kill me. I'm not gonna die if I just bow to 'em. But if I don't bow to 'em, maybe I will die. So look at what they did. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king. Cause the king said to him, don't you know what I'm gonna do to you if you don't do this? And he liked these guys, he didn't want this to happen, but he was pissed that they weren't gonna do it.And so this was their answer to him. Oh, never Ceasar. We do not fear to answer in this matter if it is so, our God whom we serve can deliver us from the burning fiery furnace. I don't know if I mentioned it, but that's what was gonna happen to them. If they didn't do this particular thing to this statue of, the king, then they were gonna be thrown.Whoever it was, wasn't only them; whoever it was that wouldn't do this, they were gonna be thrown into a burn burning fiery furnace. There was a consequence of it; It'd be the God whom we serve who can deliver us from the burning fiery furnace. So he says, If it is so, our God whom we serve, he's able to deliver us from this burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of the hand of the king. But if not, be it known unto the O king that we will not serve thy gods nor worship the golden image which thou has set up.So they were so strong in faith about this that they were willing to go in there, they were willing to die for it; now what I'm getting at here is that these people, they were instructed, they knew stuff. Would we be that convinced? Would we be, would we stand in that? Would we even think of that? Would that even come across us?When they went in there, the king got so pissed off at them that he made it hotter, seven times hotter than it was before. And it was so, so hot that the people that threw them in died were consumed by the heat, But not even their clothes smelled like smoke. That was the outcome of that certain situation. Now, remember Jonah? Now, this is a prayer. Jonah said after he was in the freaking ocean after he was thrown overboard. When do we give up?When it looks like there's absolutely no hope. So what does that mean? That means our flesh is way more strong than our spirit. Doesn't it? Because we're leaning on our senses. What do I see? What do I feel? What do I hear? What do I know in my flesh? That's where we're standing. But what does God say? But if we don't know what God says, if we aren't aware of our rights to what God says, if we don't know how well, how can we do it right? My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. It's what it said.So this is Jonas's prayer. Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God, out of the fish's belly and said, I prayed, I cried because of mine, affliction unto the Lord. And he heard me out of the belly of hell, cried. I and thou hurt us. My voice for thou cant cast me. That for thou cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas, and the floods come to pass me about. And my billows and my waves passed over me.When was he praying? He was in the ocean then. I said I am cast out of thy sight.Yet what will he do? I will look again toward thy holy temple. The waters can pass me about even to the soul. The depth closed up. The depth closed me round about the weeds. The weeds were wrapped around my head. I went down to the bottom of the mountains. The earth with her bars was about me forever with her bars. Yet, has thou brought me up my life from corruption? Oh, my Lord, my God. When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord. And my prayer came in, came in unto the, into the holy temple. They did observe lying vanities and forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice unto thee. Get this; remember the whole thing from last week with the voice of Thanksgiving? He was being thankful. It was a sacrifice when you're laying there on the bottom of the ocean, and you got seaweed wrapped around your head; that doesn't seem like there's any hope, does there? But what did he do? He kept praising it, Salvation of the Lord. Thanksgiving. I will pray that I have vowed salvation is of the Lord. And the Lord spank unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. But a fricking boom.Remember this verse. Submit yourself to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw close unto God, and he will draw close unto you.To submit is the Greek word - hupotasso. And it is to submit one, submit one's control to yield to one's nation or advice to obey, to be subject to oneself to obey.So when you're in dire circumstances, what are you doing? Do we know who we are in Christ Jesus?Do we know who we are as a son of God?That we don't have to look at what is happening in the world that we can look to him? There was one instance where a man went to Jesus, and he said, my daughter, she was about 12. He said, my daughter is on the brink of death, but if you can come, I know you will heal him. And then, as they were on their way, another woman stopped him. She had an issue with blood. This whole thing happened. He healed her. In the meantime, The daughter died. Well, what does that mean? In this case, and in every case where we are standing on our identity as children of God, it didn't matter. Jesus said fear not, only belief. So when they got there, you know, they were crying because she was dead. And Jesus said she isn't. She isn't dead. She's only asleep. They had to put everybody out. Why was that? He only had Peter, two apostles and the mother and father of this little girl. Everybody else he put out. Why was that? They couldn't be influenced by all of that stuff. What are we influenced by? What are we allowing ourselves to be influenced by?You don't need that. Do we know these things, though? Can we receive answers when we don't even know that we're not that, that bringing all these people with unbelief into our lives is gonna damage our faith, and we cannot stand to receive what God wants us to receive? But even more than that, this isn't about living from crisis to crisis and getting prayer answered to prayer answered. This is about walking in the light as children of God and receiving this glorious existence we should have. That this is how we should be li living. Now, this, I don't know if I'm gonna get into this cause there's a lot here. Maybe I'll just take a couple of things, and maybe we'll get into this next week, but listen to just some of this. This is James 1:22-25. See, my point here is that there are lots and lots and lots of clues in the Bible, lots of them. The Bible is a manual for life. Do you think God would just throw us down here and say good luck? No, he wouldn't, and he didn't. Okay, now look at this, my brethren; count it all joy. When you fall into many temptations, you wanna count it all joy. It's what sense does that make? Well, knowing this at the trying of your faith, it works. Patience. Get this. If you go out to the gym, right, you're gonna be like, you're gonna be tested, right? You're gonna be tested. Do I wanna keep doing this? This hurts. What happens with that growth happens. We need to practice our faith to get good at it.So every time we have a little temptation, something that comes, oh, I don't feel good. Well, in Jesus Christ's name, I'm healed. Oh my gosh, I can't pay this bill in Jesus Christ's name; I have more than I need. He is the God of heaven and earth. Thank you, Father, that you take care of me. You take care of the birds and the flowers of the field. You take care of me too. See what I mean? These little things come to our paths all the time. When we practice this faith, what happens? It works. Patience. Let patients have their perfect worth. Now, look at it here. Blessed is the man that endures temptation when he has tried. He shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised them who love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God. For God cannot be tempted with evil, either tempted by any man. So remember God; he may test you and attempt two freaking different things. And a test is just a loving thing that is like what a parent does for a child. When your child turns out about maybe 11 or 12 years old, and you say, they say, all right, mom, I'm going to the pizza place with so-and-so and okay, what time are you coming back? There's a little test there, right? You let 'em go. They're old enough. They know what to do and what not to do. They know the rules. And then what happens? They don't come home on time. You can't find them. You find out that later they went to somebody else's house and failed the test. So what do you do next? You say, eh, sorry, you're gonna have to show me that you're responsible for this because what, why don't we just let 'em do it? Because it'll harm them, right? So God wants to give us more. We just gotta grow, that's all. So we just continue to practice. It's a loving relationship. Hebrews 11:6 says, but without faith, it is impossible to please him. For he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. What is that about? He's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Does it say he's a reward for good people and bad people? Does it say, oh, I reward those who are good? If you are a good person, I will reward you. No, he's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Why? Because when you diligently seek God, you get the answers. You know how to live the rewards come as a consequence of that. Another verse says that he looked down from heaven to see if there were any that did seek after him. So don't think he ain't looking for you. He is. And don't think he doesn't find you when you're there. Sometimes I'll sit in my bed with my Bible, and when I read that verse, I'll say, here I am. God. Here I am. Cause I know what he's doing. He's looking down the Lord's looks for who is seeking him. Now, this is to recap. I mean, just to close off here, Proverbs chapter three. It's one of my favorite verses in chapters in the Bible. It got me through; it got me to understand when I was in a car accident in very, very bad shape, it got me to understand that I didn't have to stay there, and I continued to seek. Now what we're talking about here is the little clues in the Bible, the little clues in the Bible where we can see, oh, I can have my own personal awakening. This can happen to me. I can be in a position where there is no way out. And I find the way out; the doors open for me. This can happen because of who I am in Him.My son forget not my law. Can you forget something you never knew? Nope.So what do you have to do? You got to know his law. Let thy heart keep my commandments. So can you know it and then let go of it? Nope. What do you have to do? You got to keep it. Keep my commandments happy. Is a man that finds wisdom. How do you find something without looking for it? Can there be any finding anything with no effort? Nope. Happy is a man that finds wisdom and a man that gets understanding. Can I get my cup to drink if I don't reach out for it? Nope. It takes action. It doesn't just come to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Can you trust something?Know the Lord with all your heart. Can you know somebody you've never spent time with? Can you know somebody you've never understood? Can you know somebody that you've never spoken with or has spoken to you?He speaks to us through His word. Know the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean onto your own understanding. Well, if all you have is your own understanding, how can you lean on anything else in all your ways?Acknowledge him. Acknowledge is the word? NO, Trust is the word.Believe. Believe in the Lord. Trust in the Lord. Have faith in the Lord. Acknowledge is the word? No.In all their, in all your ways, know Him. How are you gonna know him? Just what I said before, the same thing, just flipped in the meaning. In all your ways. Know him. How are you gonna know him without spending time with him, without making any effort, and what'll happen? Then he'll direct your paths. Can we have our paths directed, by God if we don't do these things? Well, not according to the word, no.It's like, what? Throwing a dart at a wall with your eyes closed and hoping a, hoping to hit it.Why would we wanna live that way? What is she? She's a tree of life to them. That is what lay hold on her.Do you see it there? All of these promises, they're amazing, but we've gotta do our part. We have to lay hold on her and be as happy as everyone.Look at this one that retains her. So is it something you could do today and forget tomorrow? Well, yeah, you can, but are you gonna get the rewards? No, my son, let them not depart from your eyes. So what is he saying? Don't let 'em depart from you.Don't forget it. Keep it, keep it in front of your face. Keep sound wisdom. You got to keep something; you gotta hold onto it, right? And discretion. So that was just to show the correlation I was talking about before. In 2 Timothy 2:15, says, study to show thy self approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Now, the reason that I have this storybook bible up there is that if you, if it is to me, I've read a lot of little storybook bibles as my kids were little and stuff. This is the best Bible to read, to understand the word of God. It's very, it, it has no religion in it, doesn't have any suppositions in there of this is what we think and opinions in. You know, I intertwined. It's just a recap of and, simply pu,t the books of the Bible. So if you have a hard time reading the Bible or you it's hard to understand, get the Egermeier's Bible. It's still available. I had this 40 years ago. You could still get it today. And read, say you wanna read a chapter of the Bible, read it in the Ed Myer first, then read it in the regular Bible, and it'll open up to you. You'll see it; there's a verse that says that natural man cannot receive the things of God because there's spiritually discerned. So some things just can't get through that barrier. It's the word of God that is so powerful. It's sharp; it's alive; it's sharper than any two swords. It's able to decide and divide us under the spirit and joint and marrow. That's in Hebrews. I believe that the word of God is very powerful. And sometimes you just, you might read it and it'll, it would be like you read nothing. It just didn't; it didn't get in there because if our flesh is that strong, we can't hear it. So we go in there, it's like dipping your toe in the water, putting on your waders, putting on some a life vest or something before you jump in. You can't swim yet. And when you read it, when you read in the Egermeier's BibleAnd, or even Noah, anything and you read it, and then you go into the Bible, all of a sudden it starts opening up to you, and you're like, oh, that's what it says. So that's a great way; if you have tried to read the Bible, but it's hard, I recommend not reading it from cover to cover. It's not a novel. Go into the New Testament first, then Certain books of the Old Testament. Some of them are just difficult to read. And especially when you haven't learned how to study the Bible, it'll just confuse you because there are some things that just seem so contradictory. But remember when in the Bible, there can be no contradiction. So it's either in the translation, in our understanding, in the context or where it's been used before. So that's how we study the Bible.Let me get the thing up for you, and I'll spell it Egermeier's Bible. I will put it in the chat. This podcast is brought to you by thetidytutor.com and from people like you.If you need help getting it together at home, please visit thetidytutor.com if you want to have a house that's clean, organized, and filled with love and not stress. If you feel led to give to this podcast, I so appreciate it, and I thank you in advance. This is the entire book of Luke read whispered, or softly spoken... This is for those who like ASMR and use it for relaxing. The Bible says that The Word of God is Spiritual food "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God." It also says, "Oh taste and see that the Lord is good." See? Taste... it is food, it is to be used to feed our spirits. It also says that, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." So, to get faith we need to hear God's Word.It says in Proverbs that "The Word of God is health to our navel and marrow to our bones." It is necessary for out health and well-being to listen to The Bible. We feed our flesh all the time, this is spiritual food. Here is a link to give to support this ministry.

I really appreciated that you're here.01:49 If you like this, please, it would be wonderful if you could leave a review. It will help all of those people that have anything to do with letting anybody know about this.02:00 Bring it up in the search. So that would be wonderful. It is also brought to you by TheTidyTutor.Com02:09 God has put it on my heart to sponsor this podcast, to do this podcast and have the Tidy Tutor sponsor it.02:17 So I'm just doing what I'm told. My name's Kathy Roberts. I am the Tidy Tutor and if you need your house cleaned up, then I'm your girl.02:27 Here we are reading chapter eight in Mark. In those days, the multitude being very great and having nothing to eat.02:41 Jesus called his disciples unto him and said unto them, I have compassion on the multitude because they have now been with us three days and have nothing to eat.02:54 And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way, for many of them came from far.03:02 So we know that these people came to see Jesus speak. They definitely came with a backpack filled with stuff to eat and something to drink.03:19 But I don't think they realized how much they were gonna love what he had to say and that they were just going to stay put.03:29 So most people, I'm sure, did not have more than three days worth of food. And they came from far, you know, this was a long time ago.03:39 So it was like there weren't restaurants on the way, and it was very hot where they were. So Jesus was concerned, they're gonna leave now and some of them are gonna be way too weak to keep going.03:53 So the disciples answered him, can a man satisfy these men with bred here in the wilderness? I mean, have you ever had like six people stop by the house to say, “Hey, how are you?”04:06 “Here's me, my wife and my six kids we're gonna come in and say hi.” Like we would panic. What? And we'd be like, oh my God, I don't have enough to feed these eight people.04:16 Well, this is 5,000 men. I believe this is the one that it says.04:27 And if that's the case, then that didn't count the women and children.04:33 Because when you read the gospels, you think it's the same story, but it's not. He did this twice. He or he might have done it way more than twice.04:43 It's documented in The Word, two separate times that this happened where he fed people with fish and bread, okay? His disciples answered him can a man satisfy these men with bread, hence, and the wilderness, what, what do we even have?05:03 And he asked them, how many loaves have you? And they said seven. And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground.05:13 And he took the seven loaves and he gave thanks and he break and gave it to his disciples. And he set before them, and they did set them before the people and they had a few small fish and he blessed and commanded to set them also before them.05:35 So they did eat and were filled and they took up the broken meat that was left. Seven baskets. God is a God of abundance.05:46 You know how sometimes we feel like, oh, I can't do that. That's wasteful. God didn't just give them enough. God gave them more than enough.05:59 And they then had eaten. There were about 4,000. And he sent them away and straight away he entered into a ship with his disciples and came into the parts of06:13 So this is this one specific time. It says there were about 4,000. If it would've been 4,000 men, it would've said 4,000 men.06:26 That it, this was literally about 4,000 people. And now think of this too, like really be in the moment here, be there with them.06:37 4,000 people showed up by foot, camel, and mule, & walked, God knows how long and where in the wilderness it says, so there are all of these people there to hear Jesus.07:00 It had to be just the most surreal experience. And then it's time to go. They had me thinking too, what are we gonna do?07:13 Like we definitely didn't bring the food. What, what are we going to do? I never dreamed that I would be here for three full days.07:23 This is craziness. And then suddenly they hear the disciples saying to them, I guess at the apostle saying to them, okay, listen, you guys sit down on the ground and we are going to give you something to eat before you take off.07:39 They had to be like, what? Like, think about it, right? And then suddenly Jesus breaks the bread, blesses the fish, and it multiplies before their eyes.07:53 They just keep pulling it out. It just keeps replenishing over and over again. It had to be nuts. Now you figured that even though the apostles and the disciples, those that followed him, even though they had seen incredible miracles, they still were just body and soul.08:16 They didn't have Holy Spirit yet it was very difficult to totally believe the things that they saw. It was very easy to see, believe, and then lose it shortly after.08:32 And we know how that is sometimes, don't we? Have you ever been in the position where you got a prayer answered and you're so excited, you're like, oh my, how did that happen?08:43 How did that happen? And it's just such a blessing. It's just so wonderful. And then about, I don't know, an hour, two hours, a few hours, the next day comes and something happens, where you get a bad report on the phone or get a little fender bender or something happens, and then we're totally thrown off guard and we're like, oh my God, what am I gonna do?09:07 How did this happen? You know, didn't you remember what he did for you yesterday? It's just human nature.09:16 All right, so let's move on here. Alright, so, they did eat and were filled and they took up the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.09:28 Now remember I said God's not wasteful, we often will say, “I can't do that. That's a waste.”09:35 But what did God do? He gave more than enough and then they gathered them up. They didn't just leave him on the ground like it didn't matter, right?09:44 There's good stewardship. And then had eaten, were about 4,000. And he sent them away and straight away he entered into a ship with this disciples and came into the parts of ??????10:01 And the Pharisees came forth and began to question with him, seeking a sign from heaven tempting him. So the Pharisees and the Sadducees, they didn't like them.10:13 They didn't like the apostles, they didn't like Jesus mainly because they threatened their livelihood.10:25 Well, who do you think was in the wilderness? Who were those 4,000 people? There were the Jews. Jesus came to call the Jews to repentance10:35 It wasn't until after he died ascended that it was made available for everybody. That was the great mystery that we all can come to the knowledge of God, not just the Jews who were the chosen people.10:51 So it isn't the Jews that had it out for Jesus, it was the Pharisees and Sades. And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said, Why does this generation seek after a sign?11:07 Verily. I say unto you, there shall no sign be given unto this generation. And he left them and entered into the ship again, departing on the other side.11:17 Another really great lesson there. Did Jesus try to prove himself to these people? He didn't have to. He doesn't have to prove himself.11:26 He used who he is, a pear tree is a pear tree is a pear tree. A pear tree doesn't have to scream, I'm a pear tree, it just has to be what it is.11:34 And he left them and entered into the ship again, departing to the other side.11:45 Now, the disciples have forgotten to take bread. Neither have they in the ship with them more than one loaf.11:54 Now they were just so excited and so much had gone on and, they were afraid of the Romans and the Pharisees and the Sadducees.12:07 And remember too, they expected Jesus to bring his kingdom on earth. There they expected the Messiah to come and set up his kingdom on earth.12:22 So there had to be a lot of stuff going on in the disciple's minds leaving, knowing that the Pharisees and Sadducees were just really pissed off because all of these people were there just to see him.12:35 They didn't like that it made some waves. The Romans had to be there too. It had to be a big deal.12:43 And Jesus said I'm telling you nothing. What do you want? You wanna sign no sign. You're getting no sign from m12:56 So, I really do assume that they were usually on their toes today. They weren't.13:05 They went into the ship without anything to eat. Now the disciples had forgotten to take the bread. Neither had they in the ship with them, more than one loaf.13:16 And he charged them saying, now Jesus is talking to them, right? This is a different subject now. It's kind of like just setting up the tone for what God's doing here.13:26 He's saying, okay, look, they went into the ship, but the disciples forgot to bring bread. They forgot to bring anything to eat.13:34 And now Jesus is speaking to them. So he charged them saying, take head, beware of the levin of the Pharisees and of the leaven of the Sadducees.13:48 Now, leaven was like, what you put in bread to make it rise. And they reasoned among, and if I'm wrong, somebody correct me, but I believe I'm, I'm not wrong.13:59 And they reasoned among themselves saying, it is because we have brought no bread. So Jesus said to them, you know, be aware, be aware of the leaven of the Pharisees.14:13 And they said to themselves, oh no, it's all about the bread. We forgot to bring the bread.15:20 And when Jesus knew what he said unto them, why reason? Ye because you have no bread perceive.15:42 Ye not yet neither you their understanding. Has your heart yet heartened having eyes, see you not having ears? Hear you not.15:56 And do not remember when I break The five loads Of Among 5,000 And how many baskets full of fragments took you up, they said onto him twelve.16:50 He's saying, don't you remember when we did the 5,000? All right, ready? When I broke the five loves among 5,000, and how many basket fragments took you up, they said unto him, 12.17:03 And when the seven among 4,000, that was just the recent reference. And when the seven among the 4,000, how many basket fragments of fragments took you up?17:15 And they said seven. And he said that to them. How is it that you do not understand? See what he's saying was there is So much more to this than being afraid that you did the wrong freaking thing.17:30 Weren't you just with me? Didn't we just Feed 4,000 people with a loaf of bread and fish? Weren't with me just now We fed 5,000 people.17:50 So it is what it is though, right? Because it's human nature. And he comes to Bethsidia and they bring a blind man onto him and he sought him to touch him and he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town.18:06 Now, if you listen to the podcast, I just uploaded one about blind Bartimaus. And I referenced this guy here in talking about blind Bartamaus when he healed a blind man.18:19 So when you listen to that, remember this, and he comes to Bethsidia and they bring a blind man unto him and beau him to touch him.18:29 And he took the blind man by the hand and let him out of the town. And when he had spit on his eyes and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw it.18:42 And he looked up and said, I see men as trees walking after that. He put his hands upon his eyes and made him look up and he was restored18:56 And so every man, clearly there's another really cool example of sometimes we don't get what it is we need to get automatically right away.19:07 Sometimes it looks a little skewed. Now, this was just the circumstance right now in this man's life with Jesus Christ himself.19:17 So when we're walking in this world and we have a need and something doesn't happen exactly the way we think it should, or we feel discouraged in any way, you know, look at what happened with Jesus right here. Please give so I can hire someone to help me with this work. It will give a job to someone in need and provide the good news of Jesus to the world, a win win! Thank you! Click the link to donate. 00:01 Hey, this is Kathy Roberts, and you are listening to the What Does God say to You, podcast. God put this on my heart to do, and so I'm doing it imperfectly, but consistently, I believe that there is so much more to the Bible and to what God has in store for us than we are walking around and acting like. I believe that churches have really let us down, and that there are so many people that do not know the power of God, the love of God, and the freedom and abundance that we have in Jesus.00:33 That's what this is all about. If you feel led to give to this work, please follow the prompt. There's a link somewhere here on this page that you can find, where you can click on it and just give whatever your heart desires.00:47 I thank you in advance. Now on with the podcast. Okay, so here we go. Peter walked on the water. They were, they were out hanging out somewhere.00:57 Jesus was teaching people and whatnot. And in verse 22 of,chapter 14 of Matthew, it says, “and straight away Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitude away.”01:18 So he was with the multitude. He sent them away and he told the disciples, you go take off while I go and do this.01:28 and he said, “when he had sent the multitude away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray.”01:36 “And when the evening was come, he was there alone, but the ship was now in the midst of the sea and tossed.”01:45 So there was a big multitude. Jesus was ministering to these people. He told the apostles, you get on a boat, you take off, I'll meet you. 01:55 So he sent the multitude away, and then he went to recharge and to be with God. And so now it says that “the ship was now in the midst of the sea that the apostles were on and tossed with waves for the wind was contrary.”02:13 So it was very, very windy. It must have been hurricane territory, hurricane situation going on. And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went onto them walking on the sea.02:26 So now it's late and there's a storm going on. There's wind, there's waves, there's rain, and it doesn't affect Jesus.02:38 He's walking on the water, going to them, the surroundings do not affect him. He's our example. “And when the disciples saw him walking on the seat, they were troubled saying it is a spirit, and they cried out for fear.”02:55 So this is what the apostles did because now you know, they're scared for their lives to begin with. And now there's a storm and there's this, this storm that's going on, and here comes this.03:08 What they think is a spirit, a ghost, something. They're really freaked out walking on the water and they cried out for fear.03:18 And straight away, like right away, immediately “straight away, Jesus spoke unto them saying, be a good cheer,” be happy. “It is I be not afraid.”03:32 He just wanted to let them know, don't be afraid. It's me. “And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be you, bid me to come out on the water.”03:47 Like what a big, bold step this was. He, immediately did drop the fear, obviously, and he wanted to do what Jesus did.03:58 “And then Jesus said, come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.”04:10 He did it. Peter did it. He walked on the water to go to Jesus. But then what happened next? Peters took his eyes off of Jesus and put it on what he saw around him.04:23 He must have suddenly been in a place thinking, wait, what the hell am I doing? Like, you know, in the moment when he saw Jesus walking on the water, he elevated himself to a place that's like, holy crow, what is possible?04:37 What is possible? And he was elated with it. Then he actually did it, and his mind got in the way.04:45 His thoughts started coming in. And instead of him casting the thoughts out, he embraced them. “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid.”04:58 So he saw what was around. He was like, wait a minute. Look at what's going on. Like, you could walk on the water when it's not boisterous?05:05 Oh, if it was really nice out today, this would be fine. I'd be able to walk on the water. Right?05:11 Doesn't make sense. But when he saw fear, fear never makes sense. When he walked, when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid and beginning to sink.05:24 So, you know, do you ever begin to sink being on the water? If you get in the water, what do you do? 05:29 You immediately go down. Right? Do you ever just slowly go down? But that's what was happening here, because it was to the level of his belief that was keeping him where he was so much to learn.05:42 Here, when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid. And beginning to sink, he cried saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him.06:01 Can you just picture it? Put his hand out.06:06 Peter is probably waist-deep now in the water and he saw him. You had to see his face being all frantic crazy with, with fear, grabbed him and pulled him up.06:19 And what did they do? They, they walked back. They walked back to the ship together, and he said it to him, “oh, thou of little faith, wherefore did thou doubt.”06:28 Why did you doubt? Now, I think it's hysterical here, that Jesus called him of little faith. If I walked on the water for five seconds, I would consider myself like pretty filled with faith, right?06:41 Amazing. But the reality is that we've gotta keep it. What good is it if we don't keep it? Oh, you of little faith.06:49 Wherefore did thou doubt? It was the doubt. Now doubt being that not the kind of doubt, that's like a glimmer of worry or thought because it says that Jesus, Jesus thought just like we did, yet without sin, which means that he had the same thoughts.07:07 Let me find that verse really quickly. I have my laptop open. So, Hebrew 4:15.07:16 Let's see. It says, “For we have not a high priest, which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted,”that's the word I'm looking for, tempted, “but was with in all points tempted like us, yet without sin.”07:33 So It's not the thoughts that come in, it's the dwelling on the thoughts that come in. We can't help that.07:38 It's like saying that, we can't help a weed coming in the garden. You can't, but what do you gotta do?07:43 You gotta weed that garden. There's, stuff about that too. Okay? So it was in the doubt, it was in the doubt that he meditated on that he allowed to take root.07:55 “And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased then that they were with them in the ship, came and worshiped him, saying, oh, the truth that art the son of God.”08:07 All right? So there's that. But the one thing I wanted to show you right after that was this section in Matthew where Jesus was in his own hometown.08:20 Because what I wanna show you is the connection to believing, the connection to faith and how it doesn't matter.08:30 Like when people say, why does God let this happen? Why does God let this happen? It's up to us. We have free will.08:36 It's about what we think, how we believe he's there. He was there for Peter when he was walking on the water and when he was sinking?08:46 Yes. Was he sinking because Jesus made him sink? No, we have a responsibility too. We've got a responsibility. So look at what happened when he was in his own hometown.08:59 “And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue in so much that they were astonished.”09:13 “and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter son? See, they, they knew him.09:23 They knew who he was. They knew who he was from a baby. So they're looking at him like, wait a minute, you can't be doing this.09:31 We know who you are. “Is this not the carpenter son? Is this not his mother? Mary is not his mother called Mary and his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas and his sisters.”09:46 “Are they not here with us?” Did you know that Jesus had brothers and sisters? He did. “And his sisters, are they not with us hence then has this man all this, these things.”09:57 It's like, how could this guy have all this? We know who he is. He's a carpenter son. Never think that you're not special because of where you came from or who you used to be.10:08 And Jesus was pretty incredible all the time. So if you're having naysayers around you, you're in good company.10:17 All right, ready? We're getting to the point now. “And they were offended in him, but Jesus said unto them, a prophet is not without honor saved in his own country and in his own house.”10:32 You're with your honor, everywhere else but home. and this is the verse I wanna get to.10:40 “And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” This is the man that walked on the water, raised the dead, made the blind to see, made the lame to walk.10:53 This is the man that did all of this. Yet when he was here, there were sick people there. He couldn't help them because they had the responsibility, and he did not11:06 many mighty works there because of their unbelief. And in another section where it talks about this, it says, except healing a few sick folk like somebody with a cold or something.11:16 Because that's the level of the believing that they could have if there was somebody there that needed an arm grown, if there was somebody there that needed to be able to see if there was somebody there on their deathbed, they they didn't think he could do it.11:32 They didn't have any faith in him at all. But you know they thought, “I could be healed of a cold.” And so their level of believing they had was was minimal, they could believe for that.11:43 So now, that's what I wanted to bring into this reading about the part where Peter walked on the water and then he sank because he stopped believing.11:55 And you know, I get it because we see things all around us. And it could be scary. You do something, you expect something, you put all your work and all your heart and everything into something and you're working so hard and then all of a sudden it looks like it's not gonna work.12:10 Or nobody cares about it. Or you're working on your health or something, or you're on a diet or whatever it is.12:17 We've got to not see the negatives. Maybe you lost your job, and every time you go to get another job, you're just hearing all of these negative things. Or or diagnosis.12:34 A diagnosis that you have. Where are we gonna put our eyes? If we put our eyes on what we see, we're gonna sink.12:42 That's gonna be it. We sunk, we're done. We're gonna put our eyes on Jesus. Is it easy? No, it's not easy.12:49 But guess what? I can tell you from experience that if you stay in that place, allow the feelings. Because we're not the feelings.12:58 We can't help the feelings. Can't help the thoughts. But we can reject them. And, and if we sit with it long enough and we just take the time, instead of trying to rationalize it, push it away or push it down.13:16 Instead of doing that, if we actually take the time away from it and get with God and say, all right, God, I'm being attacked here.13:26 All I'm seeing everything that I'm seeing, I don't wanna see this. I wanna see you. Take the time away, get quiet, allow him.13:35 It says,”Let the peace of God rule in your heart.” What does that mean? Does that mean that peace of God can rule in my heart all the time?13:42 It doesn't mean that. Let the peace of God rule in your heart. So that has to be that there's gonna be sometimes that there's gonna be a lot of crap going on in the world and around you that it's gonna be hard to allow peace in there.13:57 We have to not see that, and see him. Boy, am I preaching to the choir! I needed this like you can't believe today.14:04 So this is wonderful for me. I hope it's great for you. It's not easy in the moment, but the moment's gonna come and go Anyway.14:16 We might as well let it come and go standing on faith, believing in Him rather than fearing the circumstances and what we see.14:26 Okay? So that's that. Thanks for being with me. I'm gonna say a prayer and then we'll end. Okay? Father, God, thank you so much for your word.14:32 Help us to see only you, God, regardless of the circumstances that are around us, so that we can stand in the fullness of what you are and be deliberate and have that power that you came to give us that more than abundant life.14:46 In Jesus Christ's name, I pray and I praise you, and I thank you. Amen. If You, you like this podcast, please support it.14:54 There's so much that I want to do, but I need your help. I can't do it alone. I'm gonna thank you in advance.15:01 You could find some sort of link somewhere where you can give here on this page or someplace. You can email me, Kathy@thetidytutor.com.15:11 I don't have a, What Does God Say to You email yet, so that will have to do. See you in the next podcast.
This is really so interesting. It's one of my favorite stories. One of my favorite topics, one of my favorite men in the Bible, is one of my favorite lessons to have learned in the Bible. So I'll say a really short prayer, and then we'll start. Thank you, God, for your word. Thank you, God, that you love us, and that you hear my voice.Thank you, God, that you are always there for us. I ask you, God, to help us to understand what we, read what, and that it hits our hearts in a way that it touches things that we need to understand. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen. We're gonna read from starting in verse 12. You can CLICK HERE to donate Okay, here we go. 37:12. And his brethren went to feed their father's flock in Shechem.13 And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the flock in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I.14 And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.(Joseph was the youngest at the time of all of the brothers and that's why he wasn't with the brothers doing this work. So the dad, he just wanted to make sure everything was okay, you know, like, they're your brothers. They've been out there for a while. Go check out, and make sure everything's all right. Okay? So that's what's going on.)15 And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?16 And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks.17 And the man said, They are departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan.(So, so he went to Shaham and he is like, my brothers aren't here. And so there was a man there who saw him and said, what are you looking for, buddy?)And Joseph went after his brethren and found them in Dothan.(So now he's there doing what his dad told him to do.)18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.(Now, the reason for this is because they were really jealous of Joseph. Joseph was the the f child of his father, of his old age. He, his father was married to two women. This was legal at the time, and it was the, his wife that he loved. Not that he didn't love both of them, but you have to read this part of it, that this is a different story where he, it was originally Jacob and then God changed his name to Israel. He wanted to marry a woman, I forgot her name. Israel went to her father to say, I wanna marry your daughter. And he said, okay, but you know, you have to work for me first. And he said, all right, I'll do that. And he worked for him for I think 12 years or something like that. And he married the daughter, but it was the first daughter, not the daughter that he wanted to marry. And then he said, how could you do this to me? He didn't know it wasn't her because there was a vail over her face. He said, how could you do this to me?The father said to him, yeah, but the first daughter's gotta get married first. So he worked another 12 years for his other wife (Lea and Rachel) and the wife that he loved had Joseph and that is why he favors Joseph and the brothers were jealous of him, very jealous.19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.(Okay. So Joseph had a dream and he told the father the dream and the way the dream was, was as if all the brothers, and the father was going to bow their knee to him someday. And so now they're like, oh, another thing to hate him for. Like, really buddy? So that's what was going on and that's why they're like, you know what, here comes the dreamer. Let's kill him.I know it sounds horrible and while brothers might not like each other, but killing them? That's what these people were thinking. These people were taught The word of God. just goes to show you nobody's perfect. Everybody makes mistakes. That's why we have a savior.19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.20 Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.21 And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him.22 And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.(So he, so he's saying, oh my goodness, we can't let this happen. What? This is craziness. So he said, all right, look. - I think Ruben was the eldest. He said look, no, don't kill him. Don't let blood be on our hands. Put him in this pit and just leave him there, in the back of his mind as soon as he could, he'd get him out of the pit and bring him back home.)23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they strip Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colors that was on him;24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.(Now, if anybody knows the story about Joseph, his father, to show his great admiration for his youngest son made him a coat of many colors, which was a symbol of his favor. Really is that the way you wanna have harmony in the home to show everybody, I like this kid the best.Probably wasn't the wisest thing that he did, but it is what he did.24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.(So the traveling salesman were coming by, the brothers were sitting next to the pit and they were eating lunch. Joseph was screaming, Why! He had to be screaming “Let me outta here! What are you doing? This is crazy, please let me outta here!” They were just eating, they were ignoring him.26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content.28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.(So now suddenly they're getting, I don't know, family oriented here. Oh, you know what? He is our brother. We really shouldn't kill him. Let's just sell him as a slave to these people. And his brothers consented.)28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.(Note, the parallel of Jesus selling Jesus to the Jewish religious leaders. Many Jews did not want him killed. Speaking of Jesus the Pharisees and Sadducees, the leaders of that time that stood to lose so much, that's why they wanted Jesus dead. And so it was 20 pieces of silver that they betrayed Jesus for, that what Judas betrayed Jesus for. They said what do you want me to give you? And they gave him 20 pieces of silver. And this is what they did with Joseph. They sold him for 20 pieces of silver, lots of parallels between what happened to Joseph, and Pharaoh and the relationship of God and Jesus and Gods family.)That's really not the topic of this, but I just want you to mention that.So they sold him. You know, that he had to be screaming to them, don't do this to me. Don't do this to me.My father, my father, you can't take me away from my father. They put him on the back of their carriage. They had to have him tied because otherwise he would've jumped off and ran. And they just sat there eating their lunch while they drove away with this young boy.29 And Reuben returned unto the pit; and, behold, Joseph was not in the pit; and he rent his clothes.30 And he returned unto his brethren, and said, The child is not; and I, whither shall I go?That was a sign that they used to show mourning, to show distress and despair. And he returned onto his brothers and he said, the child is not in the pit.31 And they took Joseph's coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood;32 And they sent the coat of many colors, and they brought it to their father; and said, This have we found: know now whether it be thy son's coat or no.33 And he knew it, and said, It is my son's coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces. Here they're referring to him as Jacob and Jacob rent his clothes and put on sackcloth upon his loins and mourned for his son.34 And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.(What a horrible thing to have done to your father.)35 And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.36 And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, and captain of the guard. So, Joseph goes into a prominent household as a slave of Potipher, an officer of Pharaoh's who was the captain of the guard. Now we are reading chapter 39, because 38 they're talking about something else like a little parenthesis. So we'll go to 39 verses 1 to 23.And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned into a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.2 And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name was Shuah; and he took her, and went in unto her.And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.2 And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man, and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.(Something I want to note here, wait, I'm just gonna read a little bit more before I say this.)3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.(So what's happening with Joseph, the master of the house, Podifer, is noticing Joseph. He's noticing that whatever he touches prospers. And right before this, we saw that the Lord was with Joseph. We're looking at the character here. We're looking at the whole big picture here. What's going on? Did Joseph have every right to be upset? mortified? He came from a well-off family. Now he's a slave. He misses his father. He was wrongfully taken and sold. He had an attitude of, “Well, this is the way it is now, I'm gonna have to do the very best I have with what I've got right now, I will always serve God to the best of my ability no matter where I am or what I'm doing.”Because if he wasn't doing that, if he was angry, bitter and feeling sorry for himself, his work would have reflected that. And also the whole thing about God was with him. God can't overstep, his laws. We, have to give him something to work with.18:49 So he changed his attitude. He changed it right away. You, have to know that because no one would've noticed a bitter, angry, sorry ass of a person. They would've just skipped right by him. Go ahead and like scrub the floor. Who cares? Just do that and shut up.So his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper his hand.4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.So now the Podifer sees this guy is like so cool. He's got his stuff together. I trust him. He's great. It was not uncommon for slaves to be taken in this time and day as if they were part of the family. So now, he didn't only take him, notice him and see how good he was and all, he now put him as overseer of his entire home.Everything that he had, people could go to Joseph instead of him for answers to things. He became the head of whatever slaves, were there and people that worked for Podifer.5 And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.Look at that. That's huge. Now, was the Egyptian somebody that believed God? No. This Egyptian believed in many gods. He, he was not a child of God. He believed in Zeus and Isis and whoever else they had at that time. But what did God do for Joseph's sake?He blessed this man's home, everything that he had. Now, what does that tell us as believers, as people that love God?If we serve the Lord, will he bless our country for our sake? Will he bless the company we work for, for our sake? Will he bless our business for our sake? Will he bless our family for our sake? Will he bless our country for our sake, our government, for our sake? This is huge. Now, I'll say this as a side note, at the time of this reading here, it, it's after a pandemic. It's 2022. 2020 was a crazy year. There is a lot of division in our country.People who hate Joe Biden, people who hate Donald Trump, Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, liberals, they're at odds with each other. It it's, it's a crazy time in our history. What are the believers doing? Are the believers speaking ill of each other? Are the believers talking horribly about our country? Are we doing the best we can for what we've got right now?Well, maybe I don't agree with what's going on right here. but what do I have to do as a child of God?We need to do what Joseph did. Do you think that Joseph agreed with what Podifer believed in? What the rulers were doing at that time?Do you think he agreed with the people that were enslaving him? Of course not. But what did he do?He did the best that he could according to the word of God. So if we are back-biting each other, if all we're saying how horrible people are, well that's not walking on the word of God, is it?And so can we get that blessing from God that we need for our country? If that's what we're doing? We can't. We absolutely can't. It, it's totally contrary to the way things work.So let's keep reading. Thank you for being here, if you can help with a donation I can get the help I need to continue on with this ministry as I should. I need help getting the podcast video transcribed. I do this myself, I need help. Thank you in advance for helping me. Anyone I help you will also get the credit for. All the work I do, you will also get credit for. That is a good deal :) https://donorbox.org/what-does-god-say-to-you
We read Ephesians chapter one last week. Today we're gonna read Ephesians chapter 2.I don't know if you listened to last week. At the end, I talked about you know, that there's a lot of missing pieces that are starting to fall into place for me that I'm understanding from studies and why certain things worked, why certain things didn't work, what I'm learning from the secular world spiritually and how it ties into the Bible. One of the things I said was that we are supposed to be living with power. When you really look at what happened in our world during the pandemic in the Christian world, just the Christians, we were completely powerless. And that shouldn't be according to the Bible, if we get bit by a snake, it shouldn't even bother us.Now, of course, we're not perfect people and so many things happen. And I'm not judging anybody. I'm trying to walk and learn what God really has put in place for us in this world. And there are a lot of things coming together right now. And I don't know if it's because we're close to the end times.I really don't know. I just know that it's such a bubbling up something, for me that I can't shake it.We are supposed to be living like, they were in the book of Acts. And at the very end of last week, I said that I feel like we need to get this information out so that if we are gone, or even eventually we will be gone, there's going to be people left here who don't know Jesus.I want to make sure that I clarify. I feel like we need to do this for the people that are alive now. Because we can be walking with power and with peace and with total contentment in this world, and being able to heal people just like they did in the book of Acts and ourselves so that it could be for now, not just for the people that don't believe and for later. So there's that. All right, I'll shut off now and I'll read. All right, Ready? Ephesians chapter two. And you hath he quickened (and quicken means made alive). And you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses and sins, wherein in times past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air (the devil), the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience, among whom also, we all had our conversations in times past in the lust of our flesh, fulfill the desires of the flesh and of the mind. And were by nature, the children of wrath, even as others. Now, when we hear about things like lust and desires of the flesh, we immediately think of things like pornography or something super evil. But honestly, it's not that.If we could just see that even the slightest contemplation of, “I'm not worthy.” or “I can't do this.” “I'll never be able to” or “I'm gonna die!” “There's something wrong with me”That's the conversation and time passed in the lust of our flesh because it is lust. We're lusting after something. We want something. Otherwise, we wouldn't feel like we're not okay. If we knew we were okay, would we be saying, There's something wrong with me? or those things listed above? We wouldn't be saying that kind of thing. So it is the lust of the flesh, the desires of the flesh, and of the mind.Mind is a big thing here because we are people, we are human beings. Human beings are the only ones that have a mind like we do. We can imagine things. We can create things. We can do things that animals can't do.Scorpions, scorpions, scorpions, scorpion. There is no going back from that. A frog is a frog is a frog is a frog.A lion is a lion is a lion is a lion. There's only so much that training can do that would alter behavior of a lion for example. But a lion is going to be a lion. You can't befriend a lion and think that he's not going to eat you if he gets hungry. We have this ability, we have a mind. A mind is a wonderful thing and it's a bad thing too because we don't know how to use it. Remember what Jesus said? The sower sows the word, And some of the seeds fall on stony ground. Some fall on really wonderful ground, and some falls on the wayside, Like just as you're walking kind of thing. And so each place that seed is sown, something happens to it. Jesus said that the heart is the ground. It's, it's who we are. We sow seeds of the word in, in who we are, who we were when we were born, and who we are with God.Now, what are we gonna do with that ground? Because we've inherited certain parts of our hearts. If you were born to a very, very wealthy family and you have an inheritance then, and you were trained in what to do with money and all of that, and it's just part of what you were born into, well then it's kind of like you were born to an orchard. All you have to do is maintain it. It's the trees that are already grown. You just picked the fruit. But if you were born to poverty, then you were born to maybe rocks and stuff that, now your seed that your sowing of abundance can't take root. That ground needs to be worked on in that area. If you were born to a family of people who was always feeling like they were sick all the time, then, your heart may have been in a place that always thinking about illness. And so you have to work that ground because, in that area of your life, the ground isn't so good.So the seeds have to be able to germinate and grow. But it talks about the good ground. And I think that's where most of us are. The word is sewn in good ground and it grows, but it says that the deceitfulness of riches and the lust of the flesh and the desires of the mind come in and choke the word and it becomes unfruitful. The mind is such a big deal because it's our thoughts that emanate faith, and it's our faith that connotes our actions, and it's our actions where we see the results. Continuing the reading… Among whom we also had conversations in times passed in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. https://donorbox.org/what-does-god-say-to-you
We're going to read Ephesians. It's really a beautiful book.Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, who at two to the saints, which are at the thesis and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. So that, so it's written to us, and it's written to the church of Emphasis Grace be to you and peace from God, our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.Whenever I read that, it's so, so comforting to me.We could gloss over it, but really what it is, it's like if you were with your mother and father and you were on the phone with your sister, you'd say, “Mommy and daddy said hi.”That's what this is:Grace be to you. And peace from God, our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with many spiritual blessings in heavenly places. So we are blessed with many spiritual blessings in heavenly places. If we aren't living that way, we're missing something.According as he has chosen us in him... He's chosen us.He's chosen us in Him before the foundations of the world. Before the world was even made, He chose you before the foundations of the world. That we should be holy and without blame before Him in loveWe should be holly without blame. Without blame. So that's a big deal. Do you know how many times we put ourselves down?Well, according to God, we're without blame before him in love.Having predestinated us.So he Predestinated us. He in his foreknowledge put us somewhere. He predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself according to the good pleasure of his will. This what we are his, according to his good pleasure. We're talking about God. To the praise of the glory of His grace, we are in.He has made us acceptable in the beloved. We are acceptable in the beloved, in His family. We're acceptable. He made us that way in whom we have redemption.Redemption! Redemption means you've been brought back, redeemed, brought with a price. You are probably too young to know about S and H Green stamps. You would go to certain grocery stores and certain gas stations and they would give you these green stamps and these books, and you would take these stamps, and depending on how much you purchased when you were at the store or the gas station, you would get a sheet of stamps and you would take these stamps ad to add them to the book.Well, at a certain point, whenever you got enough, you could redeem that book for certain things. If you had a little bit, you can get, I don't know, some groceries or something. If you had a lot, you can get a tv, you can get a radio, you could get a knife set.See you redeemed them. You'd say, Okay, here's this. I'm giving it to you. Now you give me that. And that's what we've been, we've been redeemed. Jesus said, Okay, I gave my life. Now you give me that (us)Who have we been redeemed from? From the devil. Because He's the God of this world.Until Jesus came to buy us back, God had to put his spirit on us.Now we can be children of God. We've been redeemed. We've been bought back. We are his!In whom we have redemption through his blood. The forgiveness of sins.Forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His graceDo you remember when Jesus was walking on this earth and he would say to somebody, who needed healing, rise up and walk and sin No more. Your, sins are forgiven.Well, that was blasphemous back then because only God could forgive sins. They used to have to do things that would cover sins for the year.Every year they had to do a ritual and, and have their sins covered. But they weren't gone. Jesus came and now our sins are gone.In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace, wherein he has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence. With all wisdom and prudence having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he had purposed in himself. So this is all because He wanted to. That's it. That in the dispensation of the fullness of times. That means after time had gone by and certain things were fulfilled and the dispensation of the fullness of times…He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are in earth, even in Him in whom also we have obtained an inheritance being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the council of his own will.So this is all according to God, God made this happen and all of that, we should be to the praise of His glory.Who first trusted in Christ. God, first trusted in Christ, in whom you also trusted.Because we're born again, we've decided, I'm going to believe in the Son of God.I'm gonna believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God. He was raised from the dead, in whom also we trusted. After that, we heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, the good news of your salvation, in whom also after that you believed you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise! The seal is a big deal. You know, like when a king would write a letter, he would take his insignia ring, his little stamp, he'd put it in wax and he would seal his message. We've been sealed. Now there's probably way more to it than that, but that's part of what that is, that we've been sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,Which is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchase possession unto the praise of his glory.Wherein I also, (this is Paul saying) I also, after I heard of your faith… so after he heard of the faith of the Ephesians, and now we are included in this because it said, this is written to “the Ephesians and to all of those who are in Christ Jesus who love God”, we love God.See in the beginning. It says “Grace to you, where it is, where is it pulling apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God to the saints were your thesis and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. So it's written to us too. We are in there.I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and love unto all the saints cease not to give thanks for you.So Paul was thankful, he was praying for you and for me. He didn't have to know us, to pray for us. Cease not to give thanks for you making mention of you in my prayers. And this was his prayer, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.So this was his prayer for us. We can take this verse and we can pray it over ourselves. We could say, Father, my father of glory, give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. Now, the eyes of your understanding, being enlightened. So we could say,Father, I pray that the eyes of my understanding will be enlightened, that I may know what is the hope of Your calling.Father, I want to know the hope of your calling and what the riches of the glory of your, of his inheritance in the saints. We can continue to pray this prayer over us.Father, I want to know what is the riches of the glory of your, of my inheritance in the saints! And what is the exceeding greatness of his power! So this is continuing his prayer for us. What is the exceeding greatness of his power to us who believe according to the working of his mighty power. So we could say, God, I want to know the exceeding greatness of your power. To me, I want to know that.See, we as Christians are living in a way that is far below what God had planned for us.We should be living the way they lived in the Book of Acts when after Christ died and ascended where just Paul and Peter and John and so many of them did. Remember there were 70 that Jesus sent out. They were there! The apostles were people that, that Jesus chose. And then there, there were disciples and those disciples he sent out, they were healing as well.Once we became born again, once the Holy Spirit came and we got to be born again, we are now in the fold.Once that happened, we became new, new creatures. It said Jesus said, “Greater things will you do than me because I go to my Father.”We should be doing what Jesus did. We are living in a way that is just five senses. And there's all these clues, all these truths in the Bible that throughout time it's been so watered down that we beg him.Now when we pray, we beg him instead of just claiming it, accepting it. Thank you Father that I have this.We can claim these things that is prayed for us here. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us who believe according to the working of his mighty power, power, talking about power here, which he brought in Christ when he raised him from the dead. This is mine because you've put this in Christ, You put this in my brother Jesus and He was raised from the dead and you set him at your own right hand in the heavenly places. Now my Lord, my savior that is in me Christ in you, it says the hope of glory. Now he is in me and he's sitting at my God's right hand, far above all principality and power. In verse 21, Far above all principality and power and might. What annoys me about most Christian churches is they say, “Oh, the devil's really after me this week.”Or, “Oh, I'm really getting hit by the devil.” That' should be never coming out of your mouth! The devil has no right over us. He only has the rights we give him.We can relinquish our rights, right? You can be a child of a very wealthy person and you could choose to just relinquish all those rights. You got a beautiful car, you got a beautiful home, and you have a bank account with plenty of money in it.You can say, Yeah, I have all of these things, but you know what, I don't want 'em. That's what we do.We don't understand our place in God, our place in the family.Look, it says, this is Jesus far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named. What is that? It's all the devils out there, all the devil spirits, everything that is evil. He's far above all of that, and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come. And He has put, listen to this, He has put all things under his feet, under Jesus' feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in all!I'm telling you, there is so much that we are missing and I feel like it's my mission to help people see what we're missing.I'm studying the book called it's “The Untethered Soul”. And now there's another one. And I'm reading that now. And I sincerely believe that God has been trying to get this to the Christian Church, but we weren't listening. And there happened to be this one man who now is 70 some-odd years old.He was a barefoot hippie years ago who decided that that voice in his head was always wrong and dictating everything that he did. He decided, I'm gonna try and experiment and I'm going to believe that everything is working for my good. And if I'm going to do anything based on my preference, I'm not going to go there, because what that voice says is always wrong.“Oh, what did you do that for?” “Why did you do that?”“I should never have done that.” “Oh, that's stupid.”“Oh no, you can't do that.”And so he decided, to test it out. Well, it's well over 20 years that he's done this experiment and oh boy has he learned a lot and I am learning so much. It's all the word of God. Because remember? The rainfalls on the just and the unjust. The same principles that will work for it, works for the saint and sinner alike. It isn't like, “Oh, well you're good. So now you get a blessing, you're bad. You don't get one.”We wanna walk in those principles we'll receive. The difference is when you have Jesus, there's there's healing. There's so much more, so much more for us because we go ahead with this, with Jesus, because it's all in The Word.Renew your mind, put off the old man. Put, put my kingdom first. And all these things will be added to you.Don't trust in yourself, trust in me. In Proverbs chapter three, don't look into your own understanding. What is that, that's that voice in our head that we are giving way too much credence to.There's a verse that says that “All good things happen for us because we love, love Christ Jesus.”We've been believing that there are too many negative things that are, oh, well that must be bad because no, nothing's bad for us. Nothing. If we'll only push past that b******t pain that tries to come in and navigate our lives and give it to God.God, I give that to you. It's really pretty incredible and I'm looking forward to just sharing it.I know that if you remember when I first started it, what I wanted to do was I wanted to say, Look, I've been seeking for 41 years seeking God.There's a verse that says he's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.And I've been doing that for 41 years and, you know, stepped in a lot of holes, had some amazing miracles and but still, I'm not living as they lived and I still have way too many hangups and too much anxiety. You know, something ain't right. And so what I've noticed is that a lot of the things that I've learned from reading, not the Bible, ties into the Bible. And because of that, I think I'm unique because most, or I don't know any Christians like pastors or whatever, will embrace anything other than the scriptures. And to me, that's just foolishness.Like I went for help for my alcoholic relationship that I had. I had a relationship with an alcoholic. And it affects your life big time. And for many, many years, many years I went to clergy, I went to pastors, I went to the Bible, I went to church, that's what I did because I believed, well I still believe that all answers lie in the word, but are there specialists out there that understand certain things that once we get those certain things, it snaps right into the word now, Now we've got the answers. It wasn't until I found Al-Anon that everything changed for me. If I would've known about Al-Anon all of those years ago, I probably wouldn't have even gotten divorced because I would've understood what was going on and I would've known, oh, this is how I behave with that.To be continued (Your giving will help me give someone who needs a job, a job to do the work of transcribing the podcasts) https://donorbox.org/what-does-god-say-to-you

And it's, This is the day the Lord, which the Lord has made.We will rejoice and be glad in it. Now, just so you know, I always use the King James version. So if you're used to the new international version or anything else, then it might sound a little bit different to you.So this verse is something that actually I have a little song for. I taught my kids this when they were growing up so that we could learn the scriptures.I used to teach children's church, and this was one of the songs. So it goes like this If you wanna learn this verse because it's really good to put the word in your heart because then it manifests out in your life. The Biblse says “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” So, we wanna always have the word in our minds, in our ears, and in our eyes. And to do that, we meditate on it, but we have to know it to meditate, right? So this is a great verse for that. This is not the lesson for today or, the topic for today. Ready? (Then I sing the verse)Now, the reason I did that was because I really feel like that if today is difficult for you, because it is Valentine's Day, and if you're listening to this in a replay and it's another day in, in your life, and you know, maybe it's a different holiday or you could just reflect on this when it is a holiday that comes up, that if you start to feel bad because things aren't as they should be, you know, “He should have given me this!” or “They should have cared about that!” “I should have gotten this.” And we kind of feel sorry for ourselves because we have this perception of the way things are supposed to be.Then we can bring this verse in and we could just say, “This is the day that the Lord is made.I will rejoice and be glad in it.” There's no reason that we need to stay in a place that's not good just because of what we think things should be.Now I'm gonna move on with the verses, but I'm definitely gonna share from my heart about something that I learned through Alanon.Alanon is a group, there's Alcoholics Anonymous, that's AA and then there's Alanon. Alcoholics Anonymous for the people who are alcoholics. They have an addiction problem to alcohol. And then Alanon is for people who have been affected by the person who had an addiction. It turns out we are sicker than they are.So, one of the things I learned in there, which I'll talk about a little bit later, is a Plan B.So it really, it revolutionized my life. And I'll go on a little bit more about how I always, only went to the church for help.I always went to the church and to the bible, to the church, and to the Bible, and I never went outside of that. And it wasn't until I listened to that voice in my heart. You know, the Bible says that Jesus is the healer. That's what it says. Jesus is the healer, right? It talks about laying hands on people, and praying for people that they'll get well, right? But does that mean we don't go to the doctor? Like if you have a heart attack, if you're having heart pains, if you're having some kind of issue, don't you run to the emergency room? Are we not using our faith because we have a physical problem and we're not going to God? This is the thing, okay?Bring Jesus with you. Yes, you're gonna run to the hospital and it's a really good idea to bring Jesus with you. You're not doing one or the other, you're doing both. So for so many years, I refused any help that was outside of going to a pastor or somebody where I could get counseling and the Bible.I would dig into the Bible and ignore everything else. It seems like the church are very willing to go anywhere for physical health, but nowhere else. Not for mental health and that's messed up because there are people that God put out there that are specialists, right? You're not gonna run to the orthodontist when you have a heart attack, right? There's a specialist for that.Whatever specialists there are. Years and years ago, this was probably the first year I was married. I saw a television commercial and the commercial was an Allon commercial. And it was a woman who was sitting at a table. They did it in black and white. It was very good. it was done very well. She was sitting at a table, she had coffee. It was a depressing kind of look to the commercial. There was a man in the background who was coming in and going out, of the shot. And you could see there was yelling, she was distressed. She said nothing. And then you saw him dash out.And then, she just put her head down in her hands. And the caption was, “You can see what the alcoholism is doing to him, but can you see what it's doing to you?” God needed me to see that because this is 40 years later, okay? 40 years later. And I remember that like it was yesterday. Why? Why there are so many commercials in and out, so much going on in life, right? Why do I remember that so vividly?Because He needed me to go for that help. Do you know how long it took me to go for that help?25 years, It took 25 years for me to go for that help. That's how long it took. But it wasn't like all of those 25 years I was thinking of that. “I really should go to that.” Not at all. I wasn't, when I saw that commercial, it just went in and went out as far as I was concerned. But obviously, it didn't. So when finally I would let go of my religion and say, All right, I need, I need help because nothing's changing. I need help. And I was finally willing to see, is there was anywhere else I can get help.Is there, is there anything else I can do to get help? Bam, it all opened up for me. And then, you know, it just happened where I got the help.So this is Valentine's Day, right? And a lot of times we feel like things are supposed to be a certain way and, if you don't have anybody in your life, maybe you feel bad that you don't.So it's like, poor me, I don't have anybody in my life and you know, I'm not putting down anybody's, sorrow or pain. If you want something and you don't have it, being alone is difficult. So, yeah, I, I get it.But the thing is, with God, there's always a solution. But just like the story I just told you, if you are not looking for the solution, you're not gonna find it.If we think we've gotta tell God how to do it like, “He has to come home!” “He has to bring me roses!” “He has to care!” “It's my birthday. He has to do this, he has to that!”. Or, “I need to have a relationship? I need to have a man in my life!”In my case then it was, he needs to stop drinking. He needs to come home. He needs to love me more. If we are gonna tell God what the answer is, you think you know what to do.Because the Holy Spirit is a gentleman, he's not gonna push your ass into anything that you don't wanna do. There's freedom of will.So what we wanna do is surrender and realize God always has an answer. The answer is always there. We just have to say, “God, can you help me?”Cause sometimes this stuff is so ingrained in us because of the programming we've had, TV shows, commercials, other people's lives, and comparing ourselves to other people. All of that stuff is bundled up in something that, kind of cements us in a,”Iit's supposed to be this way.” And so that's all we can see. But sometimes all we have to do is see a different view and all of a sudden it's like somebody turned a light on.You know, like the light was there the whole time. All you had to do was flip the switch, but you just didn't know because you're, all you can see is this. All you can see is what they're telling you. Things need to be. And when we realize that things can be different, then suddenly all of these, avenues, all of these solutions things just start pouring in.And you know, the fact is, is that those things were there all along. But if you walk into a room and you're only looking one way, can you see what's on the other side?Sometimes it's that simple. I'm gonna go on to the next verse. Hebrews 12, one, and two.We also are compassed about with so great a cloud, a witness. Let us lay aside every weight and sin, which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience, the race that is set before us.See, listen, you got some race set before you. What is it? Are you alone? Are you with somebody that is not paying attention to you, doesn't give you what you need, or doesn't give you what you want? That's the race that is set before you. That's what it is. Looking to Jesus. Do we do that? Do we do that?Looking unto Jesus, the author, and the finisher? And this is a really key phrase here of our faith. Not of what we want. Not of what we think should be. Not of what we are afraid of. Not what we believe to be true. Not what we've been told. Not what the doctor said, not any of that. Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.Where is your faith? Are you believing in what you see or are you believing in what He said? There's the difference. What are you gonna get? It's all up to you. Okay, here we go. Who, for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.Do you realize what you've got? Do we realize what we've got? It says that every name, every name, shall bow to that name. It's in the name of Jesus. Are we using it? Things aren't okay? Things aren't what we want them to be? It's a holiday and you are alone. If that's all you see, that's all you're gonna get. Because it's where your faith is.Next verse. Now here's one that you can bring to the bank. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean onto your own understanding. The next verse says, In all your ways, acknowledge him. And the next part of that is he will direct your path.Trust in the Lord with all your heart. And don't lean onto your understanding.Don't lean onto what you are knowing, which is. “I'm alone.” “Nobody loves me.” “ I'm not getting anything.” “I haven't had a good Thanksgiving.” “I haven't had a good Valentine's Day in years and years and years.” So what are you doing? What are you doing? You're not trusting in the Lord with all your heart. You're leaning on your own understanding. The next verse says, in all your ways, acknowledge him and he will direct your path.So what do we do right? We trust God and we say, “All right, God, I see what isn't. But you love me and I could look to Jesus. I'm not gonna lean on my own understanding, which is that it's supposed to be this a certain way. I'm not gonna lean on that. I'm going to acknowledge you and I'm gonna believe that you're gonna direct my path. (To be continued - This is one of the things I need help with, paying someone to help with transcribing)

We've all felt that busyness,, when something happens in life, there's, there's an emergency or anything, right?Anything that is outside the norm, it's so easy for us to be thrown off our game. And what do we put off first?t Go. And what do we need most?t God.Okay. So here we go. All right, Proverbs 31.It starts in verse 10 in Proverbs. And it goes on to, I think verse 31. I'm pretty sure. So first we're gonna read this then we're just gonna talk about it a little bit.Um, who can find a virtuous woman? Does that mean that she can't be found? No, of course, she can be found. Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above Rubies. So this woman is valuable. She can be found, but it's not easy to find her. And we know why right?Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above Rubies, her, the heart of her husband does safely trust in her so that he has no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flask and works willingly with her hands. She is like merchant ships. She brings her food from afar. She rises also while it is yet night and gives meat to her household and a portion to her maidens. She considers a field and buys it with the fruit of her hands. She plants a vineyard. She girds her loins with strength and strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good. Her candle goes not out by night. She lays her hand to the spindle and her hands hold the Distaff. She stretches out her hand to the poor. Yay. She reaches forth her hands to the needy. She's not afraid of the snow for her household. For all her household are clothed with Scarlet. She makes herself coverings of tapestry. Her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates. When he sits among the elders of the land, she makes fine linen and sells it and delivers girdles to the merchant.Strength and honor are her clothing. And she shall rejoice in times to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness.Oh my God, I could cry. She looks well to the ways of her household. She eats not the bread of idelness. Her children rise up and call her blessed her husband also. And he praises her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excels them all favor is deceitfu and beauty is vain, but a woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her own works praise her in the gates. Now we're gonna just break it down a little bit. Alright. We're not gonna go through everything here, but we're gonna break some of this stuff down.So the heart of her husband does trust in her. Now there's some of this that I'm not gonna go into because it's not the topic of what I'm talking about now.How many times have you heard women talk down about their husbands? It's all over television, right? What was that show? “Everybody loves Raymond.” I mean, I thought it was hysterical and all of that, but so much browbeating of each other and not along a lot of respect. And it's very, very common and people do that, but that's not the topic of this. So I'm not gonna go into that.So she seeks wool and flask and works willingly with her hands. She's like the merchant ships and brings her food from afar. She rises up also while its yet night and gives meat to her household and portions to her maidens. This woman has servants. This woman has housekeepers and people to help her manage. Why is that? Because maintaining a home, it's not for the faint of heart. Many years ago it was very common for somebody to have paid help at home..Being a homemaker was really valued at one time. A lot of people give God the rap that he'sprejudiced like a male chauvinist kind of thing.Like, it's all about men and, the women better be quiet and not do anything. And if you study The Bible, then you see that you have to break it apart. It's those portions of the Bible that say things like that, we have to read it, it in the context of what it was written. And you'll find out that he's not saying that as a broad phase to women to be silent. No, that's not what it is at all.Now listen to this. And, and also people say women couldn't own property, couldn't work outside the home, but here, listen, “She considers a field and buys it with the fruit of her hand. She plants a vineyard.” Now did she have to ask her husband for permission to buy this vineyard and to buy this property? And did she have her own money to buy it? Yes, she did. And what does she do with it? She's starting a little business. Isn't she? She girds her loins with strength and strengthens her arms. She takes care of her body. She takes care of her body.Self-care is written all over this chapter. I have learned so much when having to do this for me at this point in time, it's helped me so much.I didn't know all of the ways that, I sabotaged myself to make this happen.Okay. So she perceives that her merchandise is good. What does that mean? She's got value. She feels valued. There's no unworthiness in this woman. None. She has value for herself. She perceives that her merchandise is good. She goes out and sells things. We'll see that her candle goes not out by night. And what that means is that she's diligent in prayer.
So we're reading about Blind-BartimaeusHe was a beggar that sat on the side of the road and begged. At that time people with disabilities used to do that and they had garments that they wore to show that they were beggars. We are reading Mark chapter 10, verse 46.and we're gonna read down to verse 52, Which is the end of the chapter. And they came to Jericho and he went out of Jericho. So they (Jesus and his disciples)they came to Jericho and as he went out of Jericho, he (meaning Jesus) with his disciples. So we know that it was more than just his 12 apostles and a great number of people. The son of Tim Timus was sitting on the side of the highway begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth…So what does this mean? This means that blind Bartimaeus, (this is what they called him). They didn't just call him Bartimaeus. They called him Blind Bartimaeus. That was his 100% identity Blind Bartimaeus. So, he obviously heard of Jesus because it says when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazarus. So you know, that he heard of the miracles that Jesus had done, you know, that he had to have been thinking if only he can come by me if only I could get by him! When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, Jesus, that son of David have mercy on me!So it says he began to cry out. Doesn't say that he just started saying,”Jesus have mercy on me!” “He cried out, have mercy on me!” and when he heard that it was Jesus. He so said, “Jesus son of David mercy on me!”Verse 48, and many charged him that he should hold his peace. In other words, they said, shut up Blind Bartimaeus, Jesus doesn't wanna bother with you. They were telling him to shut up! Shut up! Many, not just a few told him this, but many. Now, what would you do if you were in a situation where you needed something, you were calling out for it, you know, there's all lots of things that come to our mind.Lots of unworthy, lots of who do I think I am, lots of, what do you think you're doing? And then you have other people saying “Shut up!” right? They charged him that he should hold his piece, but he cried the more, what did he do? He cried the more!It didn't slow him down. It made him even go get louder.“And he cried the more, a great deal. Thou son of David have mercy on me!” So now he's saying, I know who you are. I know who you are. You are the son of David. You are the one that we've been waiting for. You have been prophesied as to coming! And then what happened?“Jesus stood still. Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.” Get that guy. “And they called the blind man saying unto, unto him. (Now, all of a sudden, the people that were saying shut up, Bartimaeus shut up!. Now they're saying, “Be of good comfort. He's calling for you.” You know, they changed their tune quickly, and he Blind Bartimaeus casting away his garments. What does that show that showed that he was walking away in faith. He believed he had his answer already. Was he still blind? Yes. What did he do? He took off the garments. The garments were his begging clothes. The garments were the items of clothing that people wore to identify themselves as a beggar. He cast them off. He took them off. Jesus, God says that. We need to believe before we receive. So here we go. Call things that be not as though they are, that's in somewhere. I forget where it is. Hebrews maybe. “And Jesus was still and commanded him to be called. And they called the blind man saying unto him, be of good comfort. He calls for thee, and he, he cast away his garments rose, and came to Jesus. Jesus answered and said to him, what will thou that I should do unto the?” Now don't you think that's kind of funny because here it is, Jesus seeing this blind, man, what do you think you want to be done? Well, there are lots of principles here asking you'll receive, right? That's one of them.Plus you need to stand out and step up in the faith. He needed to say it. There's another verse, I think right after this, where we could see that Jesus said in verse 23 of 11, “for verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be there removed to be thou cast of the sea and not down in nine heart, but shall believe that those things that you say will come to pass, you will have whatsoever you say. He was requiringBlind Bartimaeus to say, what he wanted. “What that I should do unto thee, the blind man said unto, unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.”“And Jesus said, unto him go thy way. Thy faith has made the whole, and immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.Now there was another time when Jesus, healed a blind man. He didn't get the deliverance immediately. For that man, Jesus spits on mud and made clay and put that on the man's eyes. So every time it's not the same.On one occasion in the Old Testament, a man was told to dunk himself in the Jordan river.I was a dirty river, healings are not one size fits all. (Still working on adding to this)
We make such a big deal about The Bible like it's so mysterious. It's not. I learned how to read The Bible by reading Egemires Bible. It helps us to get what it actually says in the traditional Bible. I recommend reading a book in the children's Bible and then go in the corresponding Bible story in the traditional Bible and you'll totally understand it.We learn that we feed our spirit when we read The Bible. The Bible says to "Taste and that The Word is good" God doesn't say things just to say them. We literally are feeding something. We are eating The Word of God we are feeding our Spirit and what is the promise? "Blessed is the man that trusts him!" So, if The Word of God is Food and we have a body and a spirit what has to be fed? BOTH body and spirit. Our body is just our earth suit, it ends, but our spirit goes on forever, it is more real than this body is, but we're so much in this world that we can't see that.Whatever we are feeding, is what is going to be the strongest. That's why we believe in our head that God will protect us or heal us but we get absorbed in fear. Why is that? Because we're feeling our flesh more than our spirit, many times we're starving our spirit.
Psalm 42:1 - Psalm 43 The Bible is broken up so that it is easy for us to reference. I believe they should have made these 2 chapters 1 total chapter and you'll see why as we read.Psalms 42:1 David is ordained to be the king, but he can't be the king because there is a king. King Saul, he has to wait till he dies. Saul became very jealous of David because God took away the kingdom from his family and because the people loved him so much. David was so jealous that he was determined to kill him. David was hiding in the desert with a lot of his men. Think of the words were about to read as a man's thoughts that he is getting into his journal. "As the heart pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after thee oh God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?" David is saying as we need and want water I want and need you God. "My tears have been my meat day and night! While they continually say unto me, "Where is my God!"So he's saying, I'm upset, I cry a lot while people say to me, You're doing this all for God? Where is he? He doesn't care about you!"When I remember these things I pour out my soul in me for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the House of God, with the voice of joy and praise with the multitude that kept Holy day!"He's remembering when he worshiped God at the temple with his people. He's trying to keep his mind on the blessings. Now, what is he saying again? And who is he talking to? He's talking to himself. "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance." He's saying to himself, "Stop looking at what you can see! Praise God, he is the help of your countenance!" Notes to be continued
This episode is more of a kick in the butt. Everyone has one goal or another, most of the time many, yet it's few that achieve them. This episode gets into God's perspective of what to do when sh** hits the fan or we have discouragement or disappointment. How important it is to stay the course and how normal it is for things to fall off track. We often look at those things as barometers to quit, when in reality it's just life. It is the path all take to achieving. Consistency is the key to achieving everything. We often think we need to WANT to do something but even if you don't want to do something, but do it, you will get the result you are after. It's pushing past those moments of despair where all the fruit lies. Have you ever heard, sure I'm going out on a limb, that is where all the fruit is! It's not comfortable. But so what :) It gets comfortable with time. I go into The first chapter of James to explain how this works in God's world. Did you know that God says to count it all joy when we find ourselves in many difficult situations? Why is that? Because it gives us practice. Not practice in being a martyr but practice in living by faith. With each challenge comes the choice to complain and get frustrated or give thanks and have patience. God says that standing in faith with patience knowing that all will be well comes with a promise, we will be complete, and entire and we will not want for anything. This is a very revealing and very misunderstood chapter of The Bible.
In this episode of what does God say to you? I have combined all of Proverbs Chapter three episodes, one to five all together right here.0:11 I know that I like to listen to longer podcasts, lots of times. So if you're somebody that likes to listen to longer podcasts too, you've got it right here.0:21 It's about 45 minutes altogether. If you'd like to know how you could support my work, go into the description box or into the show notes and click the link.0:31 I really appreciate you. This is Kathy Roberts. Thanks.Hello, and welcome to our very first podcast. This is "What Does God Say to You?" where we put aside things that we say to ourselves based on what it is that we have learned through our experience.0:50 And we hold true to what God says instead. So we will contradict any negatives that we say or anything that is contrary to the word of God that comes into our hearts and into our mind.1:05 And we will counter it with the word of God. "What Does God Say to You?" That's what we want to hold on to and believe.1:15 So for the very first podcast, I'm going to read Proverbs chapter three, and we're going to break it apart a little bit.1:25 Okay? So the very first verse, it says, my son forget not my law, but let that heart keep my commandments.1:37 Now the next verse is why, why should I do that? Why should I not forget your law? Why should I let my heart keep your commandments?1:50 Because your verse two length of days and long life and peace shall they add to you? Now, this is where I first started to really dig into the word of God to find the help that I was looking for to live a better life.2:10 When I read this, I was, I was surprised and it made me realize that there are a lot of answers in here that we need to dig out.2:20 So here we go, ready? Length of days and long life and peace shall they add to you. So who does want enough time in the day, who doesn't want a long life, and who doesn't want peace?2:35 We all do next first verse three, let not mercy and truth for sake. They bind them about the neck. Write them upon the table of thine heart.2:49 That is, we want mercy and we want truth. The word of God is truth, and we want to live it.2:58 We can't live what we don't know, right? Verse four. And then why, why do we want this verse four? So shall doubt find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.3:14 So why did we want mercy and truth? Why did we want to remember God's law and live it? Well here it says because we'll have favor and good understanding in the sight of not only God but man, verse five, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean, not unto your own understanding in all your ways, acknowledge him.3:46 And he shall direct thy paths. This is a big, big understanding. This is a big piece of revelation right here.3:55 So much hinges. Um, this knowledge right here, trust in the Lord with all your heart. So with all of your being trust, God, and don't lean onto your own understanding.4:12 Don't lean to what we think we know in all of our ways and in how many of our ways in all of our ways or what if somebody does something really jerky to us?4:25 Well then, in that case, I should do something about it, right? Well, no, what if I'm totally right? Then I should do something about that.4:36 Right? I can get mad about that, right? No, it says in all of those ways, acknowledge him, know him in all of your ways, know him.4:50 Now we get to know him unless we know his word. Just like we can't know each other, unless we speak to each other, unless we have some form of communication with each other, we can't know each other.5:04 So how do we get to know God through his work? Because that's all we've got. These are his words in all of my ways, acknowledge him.5:14 And what will he do? He will put us on a customer road going in a certain direction.5:48 He will lead the way, but can we be led by God? If we are going our own way, if we're learning on our own understanding, no, there's a lot.If you are reading this and you feel called, and you have the time, will you join me in this calling? I need help. These episodes need show notes. Please email me Fullnrich@yahoo.com put "WDGSTY help" in the subject. Thanks.8:56 What ways God's ways, wisdom and understanding her ways are ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them.9:09 That lay hold upon her. Here's another clue. Lay, hold upon her. Here's another clue. Happy is everyone that retains her retains.9:24 So this is saying that we could get it. We could look for it. We could hold it. We could have it, but if we don't hold onto it, we lose it.9:38 We don't only have to look for it and get it. We have to hold on to it. Here's where it says happy is everyone that retains her.9:50 Now there's another section of the Bible that we could tie into this, where Jesus talks about the sower, sows the word, and he gives an analogy of it being seed.
0:00 All right. So I said that we would get to these two verses at the end and for two reasons for that, one is because it deviates from the theme.0:12 And I wanted to really stick to the theme of this particular podcast that we had on Proverbs chapter 3, but also because there is a lot to say about it.0:24 So I'm going to read the verses now. And what we will talk about today will really define a relationship with God as a father.0:35 Okay? So it is verses 11 and 12.My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth 0:45 He corrects, even as a father, the son in whom he delights. So now what does this mean? Lots of religions and lots of, I don't know, I guess folklore, teach us that God punishes people and that he also will do things, particularly to people to teach them something.1:11 Now, nothing could be farther from the truth. It's not a punishment to offer correction. It is teaching, it's instruction. Now, will God allow us to suffer consequences?1:25 Absolutely. We have free will. If you want to jump off a building baby, go right ahead. I don't encourage it, but I can't stop you.1:35 Here's what, you know, just like you might do with your child or your parents have done with you. Um, you know, you want to get drunk at night.1:45 Well, you're not getting the keys, and don't get behind a wheel. If you have been drinking now, is it your choice to get behind the wheel?1:55 Yes. And will there be consequences? Most likely there Will, does that mean that your parent did that to you? Of course not.2:05 And this is the same thing. There are certain principles that God put forth in The World. You do something that will harm someone.2:14 There is going to be some kind of consequence to that. Our relationship will be messed up. You will be not trusted. People.2:24 Won't like you, you won't succeed in a lot of things. See what I mean? But does God send evil upon people to teach them something?2:38 No. The Bible says that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. There's also a verse in James, which we'll read right now, James chapter one, verse 13, let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God, for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither temps.3:00 He any man. So God doesn't do these things that the world says that he does? You know, I was in a car accident many years ago and people said to me that there may be something God was trying to teach me.3:16 That's what they said. Were not a lot of people, but a few. And they meant well, they really thought that I should look to see what God was trying to teach me.3:25 But here's the thing with something like that. If I believed that God wanted me in that car accident, then how could I ever go against his will to get better?3:39 Obviously he wanted me to be broken if that was the case. And if we believe that God wants something that's bad in our lives to be evident in our lives, then how could we go in with faith in prayer to change what we what's God's will. It is it's not God's will to hurt us.4:06 It's not his way to hurt people. It Is pretty foundational because we want our relationship with our heavenly father. We want a relationship with God so that we could walk with him and so that we could know him.4:25 Remember that verse in Proverbs, chapter three in all of your ways, acknowledge him. And if you look up that word acknowledge, it could literally be translated, "know" in all your ways, know him and he will direct thy paths.4:44 So what I do with this portion of Proverbs chapter three, where it says, "My son despise, not the chastening of the Lord, neither be weary of his correction for whom the Lord love.4:57 He's correct. Even as a father, the son in whom he delights." I see this as another way for him to show us that there are ways of the world that if violated will harm us, just like if you put your finger in a light socket, you violated the law of electricity and there is a consequence to that.5:27 There's a cause and there's an effect. When I'm living my life and something happens like maybe a fender bender or I don't know, anything that is in the negative.5:40 I know that, that wasn't God's will for me. So instead of me going to the place in my life where I might say, "Oh no, all of these bad things are happening to me!"5:51 "How could this have happened to me?" or something negative... I see it as a positive. And I say, "Thank you God, for this opportunity to live life and not see it as a terrible thing, but how wonderful that I get to breathe air, be in the sunshine and live the life that's before me." In the meantime, my eyes are looking at you and I trust that you will bring me and put me on that customary road going in a certain direction.6:31 He's our father and loves us as a good father would love their child. So that's that! I hope it was helpful.6:41 Don't forget to check out TheTidyTutor.com. 27. Withhold not good from them to whom it is good when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. 28. Say not unto thy neighbor, Go and come again and tomorrow I will give: when thou hast it by thee.29. Devise not evil against thy neighbor, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.30. Strive not with a man without cause, if he has done thee no harm.31. Envy thou not the oppressor and choose none of his ways. 32. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous. 33. The curse of the Lord is the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. 34. Surely he scorneth the corners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.35. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
19. The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.20. The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.21. The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.22. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. 23. My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: Keep sound wisdom and discretion:24. So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.25. Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.26. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yeah, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
I've been pushing to do this podcast for way too long. I've come to the conclusion that I have to just do it, and do it as imperfectly as life allows.Trying to do it soooooo right has led me to not getting it done, so thank you for being here with me and for putting up with the perfect imperfection that we all are anyway. This podcast is dedicated to people who I call "diligent seekers." There's a verse in The Bible that says that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Back in 1980 when life was not so easy for me. I was like, this is not the way that God wants us to live and I knew I could do with some rewarding, so I began seeking.1980 is when I began my quest, it's been over 40 years now, almost 42 and I know that I'm not alone in this seeking. The reason I know this is there have been over 100 million copies of "Think of Grow Rich" sold, over 35 Million of the book titled "The Secret" has been sold. People are looking for answers, the fact that there are so many successful ministries that preach "The Word of Faith" that focus on The Bible having answers to living the more than abundant life that Jesus said he came to bring us is proof that I am not alone.Ive noticed that there is something different about me and I've made a connection that others have missed. I have allowed myself to go outside of scripture in my seeking. I became aware that God wanted to get us answers and help any way he could reach us.For many years I looked for answers to the troubled marriage I had. I went to church, The Bible, and Biblical council but nothing changed. It wasn't until I found Alanon (a support group and specialists for those who are affected by alcoholics) that I received the help I was after. I realized that most Christian leaders are either afraid, too egocentric or just aren't aware that we could get help outside of church for things that were in the category of relationships or emotional issues. We are not discouraged when seeking medical attention, but we are when seeking emotional or relational.I'm not afraid to say that I read other books looking for knowledge, and it was in that searching where I have connected all answers back to God and was able to piece together God's plan for the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.16 Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and honor.17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is everyone that retaineth her.
