The off season is over. Brian Gutekunst made his moves. Big Sal has grades. Free agency gets a B minus — Javan Hargrave was sharp, Benjamin St. Juste was necessary, Skymore on returns was overdue. But Sal isn't handing out gold stars for cleaning up your own mess. The Aaron Banks restructure and the Nate Hobbs disaster are on the same ledger, and you don't get credit for both sides of that equation. Extensions get an A minus. Jaden Reed locked up, Sean Clifford rewarded for improvement, Christian Watson and Tucker Kraft still coming. Trades land at C plus (Rashan Gary) and B (Zaire Franklin). And the draft — six picks, the fewest of Gutekunst's entire tenure — might be the best class he's ever run. Brandon Cise, Chris McClellan, Dennis Sutton at 120 (Sal calls it stolen), Trey Smack. The man stopped stockpiling and started building. Big picture: this team is better at linebacker, corner, defensive interior, and special teams than the one that walked off the field in Chicago down 21-3 and somehow still lost. Overall grade: B plus. Would've been an A if last year's wreckage wasn't still in the rear view.

**Clay Edwards Show – Mister Buddy's Passing, The Free the Land Three Trial Update & Sean Yurtkuran Joins (Ep #1218)** Clay opens the show with heavy news — longtime caller and fan favorite Mister Buddy passed away over the weekend. He plays one of Buddy's most memorable calls where he went scorched earth on convicted child murderer and pedophile Daniel Callahan, then shares a message from Buddy's son Gabe and asks listeners to donate to the Little Lighthouse in lieu of flowers. Later, attorney and WYAB host Sean Yurtkuran joins the show to break down the latest major development in the federal corruption case involving the “Free the Land Three” — Hinds County DA Jody Owens, former Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba, and Aaron Banks. The judge has now combined all three defendants into one trial. Clay and Sean discuss how this affects their defenses, why Chokwe Lumumba's arguments were rejected, and what this could mean for potential plea deals or cooperation. Clay also touches on Governor Tate Reeves canceling the special session on redistricting and announces he's actively looking for the next great talk radio host on WYAB, offering a weekly Saturday slot to the right person. In this episode of PackersNow, Ben Kurkowski breaks down a wild start to Packers free agency and reacts to all the biggest moves shaping Green Bay's roster. The episode starts with the Rashan Gary saga, from the confusing social media drama to the Packers ultimately trading him to the Cowboys for a 2027 4th round pick. Ben explains why getting something back matters, but also why the Packers may still regret missing a much bigger opportunity to land T'Vondre Sweat. From there, Ben dives into the Packers' defensive overhaul, including the addition of Javon Hargrave, the signing of Jonathan Ford, and the trade that sent Colby Wooden out while bringing in linebacker Zaire Franklin. Was Franklin the right move, or did the Packers overpay for a player they could have waited out?On offense, the Packers made major changes up front by re-signing Sean Rhyan and cutting Elgton Jenkins, signaling a clear long term plan for the offensive line. Ben breaks down the upside of Rhyan at center, the concerns with the Aaron Banks commitment, and why Green Bay may have missed a chance to get value back for Jenkins. The episode also covers several under-the-radar moves Ben really likes, including:Benjamin St. Juste signing at cornerSkyy Moore as a low risk return and slot optionThe return of key depth and special teams pieces like Darian Kinnard, Chris Brooks, Kristian Welch, Nick Niemann, and Brenton CoxFinally, Ben explains how all of these moves impact the Packers' compensatory pick formula, and why Green Bay may still be in position to load up for the 2027 NFL Draft.A crazy few days, a ton of roster movement, and a full breakdown of what it all means for the Packers moving forward.

In this explosive episode, Clay kicks things off with a wild “Only in Jackson” story that perfectly captures the chaos: a man in a wheelchair is struck by two separate cars, both drivers uninsured, leading to his death. Clay breaks down what this says about local realities and why maxed-out insurance isn't optional in Mississippi.   Caller Chris Hinkle sparks a heated debate on the new NIL tax exemption for college athletes. Clay and Chris compare it to the state's $5,000 teacher pay raises and the slow-walked income-tax elimination, questioning where Mississippi's true priorities lie—education or SEC competitiveness?   Next, the feds file a motion to move the massive Jackson bribery trial out of Hinds County or dramatically expand the jury pool. Clay explains why prosecutors are worried about sympathetic jurors and what it means for DA Jody Owens, former Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba, and ex-councilman Aaron Banks.   The second hour features guest Andrew Gasser for a no-holds-barred deep dive into the newly released four-and-a-half-hour Clinton deposition in the Epstein files. Bill Clinton clears Trump, drops bombshell travel details, and the pair dissect Hillary's reactions, the “Frazzle Drip” questions, single-issue voters, and why real accountability still matters more than ever.   Raw, unfiltered, and zero filler—this is the Clay Edwards Show at its best. What would an NFL team look like if the fans were actually in charge? Just look at the Jets. Tonight's callers light the fuse on one of the most cathartic rants of the offseason, connecting irrational fandom to the worst owners in football and exposing why their teams never win. TJ from Alabama delivers the perfect proof of concept: the New York Jets are what happens when fan logic runs the show, and Ryan connects the dots to meddling owners like David Tepper, Woody Johnson, Jimmy Haslam, and Michael Bidwell The crew goes scorched earth on draft fan accountability — fans predict bust after bust, never own it, then take a victory lap the one time they're right Garrett from Southern Illinois asks the big question: what's Gutey's next aggressive move after the Micah Parsons blockbuster, and does Sullivan leaving for Miami create an intel problem? Drew from Green Bay brings roster-building reality — you can't cut four starting offensive linemen and expect to field a team, plus the Aaron Banks contract dilemma Bears fans and writers are already insufferable about Getsy, and Jordan Love still can't get top-10 respect despite years of proving doubters wrong Call in and join the conversation: 608-501-0718. New callers go to the front of the line. And yes, the offseason grilling content is coming — chicken thighs, pork belly burnt ends, and rice for days. #Packers #PackerNetAfterDark #GreenBayPackers #GoPackGo #NFL #MicahParsons #NFLDraft #PackerNation This episode is brought to you by PrizePicks! Ryan dives deep into the Packers' salary cap situation, rolling up his sleeves with Spotrac's roster tool to map out Green Bay's 2026 financial picture move by move. The results? A lot more encouraging than the clickbait headlines suggest. The episode walks through major roster decisions including the frustrating Aaron Banks situation and his absurd $25 million cap hit, the tough but necessary release of Elton Jenkins, and a creative Josh Jacobs extension that buys flexibility now while setting up an exit later. Ryan also projects contract extensions for Christian Watson ($27M/year) and Tucker Craft ($16M/year), re-signs key free agents like Quay Walker, Kingsley Enagbare, and Emmanuel Wilson, and lands the roster at a healthy $23 million in cap space. Ryan also dismantles a widely-shared Yahoo Sports article ranking the Packers 25th in cap flexibility, explaining why "simple restructure capacity" is a nearly useless metric that tells fans almost nothing about actual financial health. The bigger takeaway: the NFL's ballooning salary cap is changing free agency forever, and smart teams should invest in the draft and trades rather than overpaying in a bloated market. Plus, Mike shared his thoughts on current offensive line coach Luke Butkus. And, should the Packers bring back Aaron Banks after an inconsistent first season in Green Bay? The Packers find themselves in a position they never should have been in. After a brutal loss to the Bears that saw both Jordan Love and Malik Willis leave with injuries, Green Bay's playoff hopes now hang by a thread. With only two offensive players grading above 70 and eleven below average on defense, this was one of the ugliest PFF performances of the season—and it came at the worst possible time. Ryan dives deep into the film, calling out the offensive line struggles that continue to plague this team, particularly Aaron Banks' dismal 45 overall grade. The defense wasn't any better, with zero players earning a 70 or higher in coverage. Meanwhile, Rashan Gary led the team with four pressures while Lucas Van Ness showed promise with a 17.6% pressure rate. The only silver lining? The Lions' playoff probability has plummeted to 6%, needing the Packers to completely collapse while they win out. Looking ahead to a crucial Week 17 matchup against Baltimore, both teams face serious quarterback uncertainty as Lamar Jackson deals with a significant back contusion. The path to the playoffs is simple: win one game. The question is whether this battered team can rise to the occasion. This episode is brought to you by PrizePicks! In this raw breakdown, Ryan Schlipp unleashes a deep dive into the Green Bay Packers' offensive line struggles, pulling no punches on why it's one of the worst in team history and a massive roadblock to success. Backed by PFF data from 2006 to now, he exposes the shocking lows in run and pass blocking that are squandering Jordan Love's elite play and Josh Jacobs' potential. If you're a Packers fan tired of the hype, this episode lays out the brutal truth on coaching missteps and draft failures that could derail the season. Rasheed Walker and Zach Tom hold their own, but Aaron Banks, Sean Ryan, and Anthony Belton rank as some of the worst performers in 20 years of Packers data – with Belton dead last in both run and pass blocking. Historic comparisons reveal how shuffling positions for versatile players like Elton Jenkins and Jordan Morgan has backfired, turning potential stars into patchwork fixes. Bold take: The offensive line's catastrophic state isn't just average – it's panic-worthy, hindering the run game and pressuring Love more than any Packers QB in decades. Tease on fixes: Immediate changes needed at guard and center, plus a rant on why free agents like Xavier McKinney shine while drafts hollow out the trenches.
