As of March 10, 2025, the Cincinnati Bengals have kicked off the NFL free agency period with a strategic focus on retaining key contributors and bolstering their roster for the upcoming season. With the new league year set to begin on March 12 at 4 p.m. ET, the Bengals are navigating a pivotal offseason, balancing the retention of core players with the need to address defensive and offensive line weaknesses. Here's a look at their moves so far and the context surrounding them. One of the Bengals' earliest confirmed moves was re-signing tight end Mike Gesicki to a three-year contract extension, announced on March 10. Gesicki, who had a standout 2024 season with the most receptions by a Bengals tight end in 43 years, provides quarterback Joe Burrow with a reliable target. This move underscores Cincinnati's intent to maintain offensive continuity, especially with wide receiver Tee Higgins on the franchise tag ($26.17 million for 2025) and Ja'Marr Chase poised for a massive extension that could make him the NFL's highest-paid non-quarterback. The Gesicki signing ensures depth at a position that lacked stability last season. On the offensive line, the Bengals extended guard/tackle Cody Ford with a two-year deal on March 10. Ford, who signed a one-year, $1.35 million contract in 2024, offers versatility and depth. With the release of veteran guard Alex Cappa on March 3, freeing up cap space, Cincinnati is clearly prioritizing flexibility along the line. The team's projected $53.1 million in cap space (ninth-most in the NFL) gives them room to pursue additional linemen, potentially targeting free agents like Kevin Zeitler or Morgan Moses to protect Burrow. Defensively, the Bengals made a splash by signing former Packers defensive tackle T.J. Slaton to a two-year, $15.1 million deal. Slaton, known for his run-stopping prowess (third in run stop win rate in 2024 per NFL Next Gen Stats), addresses a glaring need after Cincinnati ranked fourth-worst in expected points added against the run last season. With defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins released on February 21 and Trey Hendrickson seeking a trade, Slaton's addition is a step toward rebuilding the interior line. The Bengals also re-signed defensive tackle B.J. Hill to a three-year, $33 million deal, signaling a commitment to continuity despite his age (30 in April). With $40-53 million in cap space, the Bengals are poised for more moves. Potential targets include edge rushers or linebackers to replace Hendrickson or Germaine Pratt (who requested a trade), ensuring a defense that faltered in 2024 doesn't sink their playoff hopes again. Free agency is just beginning, and Cincinnati's proactive start suggests a busy offseason ahead.

Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers: Post Game Show Recap In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, we dive into everything from the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers game in our game 8 post game show. This matchup was crucial as the Lions looked to maintain their lead in the division and keep their momentum going strong in the NFL season. Whether Detroit managed to hold off the Packers or had to battle through adversity, we cover all the major talking points and invite you to share your reactions as well. Listener calls are a huge part of the show, so join us to break down the game together! Lions Defense vs. Jordan Love: The Blitz Game Plan A key discussion in this episode revolves around the Lions' defensive strategy against Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love. The Packers' offense has been inconsistent this season, and Love's performance under pressure has been a major factor. Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has been dialing up aggressive blitz packages, and we analyze how that approach fared in this game. Did the Lions successfully keep Love uncomfortable, or did he find ways to exploit the defense when they sent extra rushers? Our breakdown also covers how the Lions' secondary responded to Love's big-play potential. With players like Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph leading the back end, Detroit's defense was poised to capitalize on Love's struggles against the blitz. We discuss whether the unit created enough turnovers or if Love managed to connect with his receivers for game-changing plays. We'll hear from fans about what they thought of the defensive performance and how the Lions can continue to improve. Offensive Execution: Jared Goff and Play Action Success On the offensive side, Jared Goff has been one of the league's best quarterbacks against the blitz, and the Lions' game plan likely included plenty of play action to keep the Packers' defense guessing. We discuss how well the offense executed this strategy, whether Goff's connection with key targets like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta flourished, and how the running game set up those opportunities. The Lions' offensive line has been crucial in protecting Goff and establishing a dominant run game. We analyze how they matched up against the Packers' defensive front, especially with Kevin Zeitler's return to the lineup. Did Detroit's offensive line create running lanes and give Goff the time he needed, or did Green Bay's defense find ways to apply pressure? Listeners can call in to share their thoughts on the offensive performance and what adjustments they'd like to see moving forward. Join the Conversation: Call In and Share Your Reactions! Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans: Post Game Show Reaction In the latest episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, we dive into all the big moments from the Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans game in this game 7 post game show. As the NFL season progresses, each game is shaping the Lions' playoff prospects and bringing fresh storylines to follow. Did the Lions manage to handle Tennessee's strengths, or did they face new challenges against this opponent? We analyze the game's biggest plays and invite listeners to share their takes. Your calls add depth to our discussion, and we love hearing your perspectives on Detroit's season. Lions Offense vs. Titans Defense: Key Battles in the Trenches A major focus of our analysis is how well the Detroit Lions offense matched up against the Tennessee Titans defense. Known for their solid run defense, the Titans posed a potential obstacle for Detroit's ground game, led by David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. We discuss whether the Lions were able to establish a balanced attack, creating opportunities in both the running and passing games, or if the Titans managed to disrupt Detroit's offensive rhythm. Another point of interest is the performance of the offensive line, especially with Kevin Zeitler back in the lineup. Did the line hold up against Tennessee's pass rush, allowing Jared Goff enough time to make plays? Listener calls will bring diverse insights into how fans felt about the team's offensive performance and whether adjustments might be needed for the Lions to stay competitive in the NFL season. Lions Defense: Limiting Tennessee's Playmakers On the defensive side, the spotlight was on how the Detroit Lions handled the Titans' offensive strengths. With Tony Pollard in the backfield, Tennessee has one of the most formidable rushing attacks in the league, and we dive into how Detroit's defense held up against this challenge. Did the Lions manage to limit Pollard's impact, or did he break through for significant yardage? Additionally, we explore how Detroit's secondary performed, particularly in defending against play-action passes from the Titans. This game was an important test for Aaron Glenn's defense as they aimed to balance aggressive play with disciplined coverage. Fans calling in will have the chance to share their thoughts on Detroit's defensive strategy and what it might indicate about the team's resilience against high-powered offenses. Baltimore Ravens 2024 Team Preview w/ Ken McKusick

Forward Progress

The Baltimore Ravens have undergone some significant changes this offseason, notably the loss of Defensive Coordinator Mike Macdonald. Under Macdonald, the Ravens' defense was a top-three unit in terms of EPA per play, excelling with a "positionless" defense that confused opposing quarterbacks. Despite a low blitz rate, they led the league in sacks. Stepping in as the new defensive coordinator is Zach Orr, a first-time play caller who has been with the organization since 2014, first as a player and then as a defensive coach. On the offensive line, the Ravens face challenges after losing guards Kevin Zeitler and John Simpson, as well as right tackle Morgan Moses. The team has opted not to bring in free agents, choosing instead to promote from within. Ken discusses what the offensive line might look like, including the potential impact of second-round pick Roger Rosengarten. The Ravens' offense, led by Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken, seems confident in its pass-catching options despite losing Odell Beckham Jr. and making few offseason additions. One notable addition is Tez Walker, a fourth-round draft pick. Ken explores whether the Ravens might use more 12 personnel in 2024, given their depth at tight end with Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, who impressed during Andrews' injury last season.

The boys are back this week and in this episode, they welcome in the best weekend in the sports calendar: the opening of March Madness. Josh and Dante run through the bracket and give their overarching thoughts on this year's bracket, some longshots and upsets they like across the board, and some storylines they're looking for this year. Dante shares his thoughts on some of the teams in the tournament (the Alabama Crimson Tide, for one) and who he thinks are primed to make a run, as well as who he thinks are primed for an early exit. After an extended bracket talk, the boys run the rundown of Ravens news this week. Odell Beckham Jr. shares a heartfelt goodbye after his first, and seemingly final, year as a Baltimore Raven. As anticipated, Dante is beside himself and playing “Marvin's Room” at full blast. Josh gives his takes on why he thought OBJ would be a good fit to return to Baltimore and ultimately how the Ravens should address his now absence in the WR room. Kevin Zeitler announced he is signing a 1 year deal with the Detroit Lions for $6m. Dante and Josh run through why this is a perfect fit for the Lions and that they are ultimately very happy for both parties landing this deal. Dan Campbell is getting a good one in KZ. Jadeveon Clowney's future remains up in the air as he's taken visits with both the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets, while also allegedly maintaining interest in a return to the Ravens. Lastly, the Ravens announced Tuesday that they have re-signed DB Arthur Maulet to a two year deal. Josh and Dante are ecstatic about the move, stating why Maulet was an essential retention for the Ravens and how his mentality will ultimately play a big factor in his role with the team. The Orioles are officially inside a week from Opening Day, and the boys are saying the same shit again: Jackson Holliday belongs on the opening day roster. The kid will simply not stop playing lights out baseball and we believe he is going to be at the Yard next week. Lastly, in spirit of Miami Music Week, Josh and Dante run back their “what are we listening to” segment and share some big tunes for everyone. Lastly, Dante brings Scoot and, friend of the pod, Marc Roche back to the fold this week to run through their full MLB season preview. The boys give their predictions for each division and how they will shape out, who will win the World Series, MVPs, Rookies of the Year, and their favorite futures bets as well. Thank you all for rocking with us each week, and a special thank you to everyone who joined our March Madness bracket challenge! We'll see y'all next week. Cheers fam!

The boys are back on this week's episode following the first official week with no football, and it went about exactly as you think it may have. To kick off the show, just as everyone expected, Josh and Dante start by giving their thoughts on the NBA all star weekend, why the dunk contest sucks, and why Caitlin Clark and Women's college basketball are absolutely AWESOME right now. Additionally, the Sabrina vs. Steph 3-point shootout was a great event and the NBA should continue to do things like that. Moving into the sports and teams that our boys do actually follow closely, they kick off the Ravens talk this week addressing (after forgetting last week) the fact that Lamar Jackson won his second NFL MVP and was one vote away from earning the honor unanimously. The boys basically reiterate everything they've said since Christmas on why Lamar winning the award isn't a surprise, and also issue an earnest “thank you” to Lamar for what he's done this season and for Ravens fans as a whole. In other Ravens news, the team announced this week that they've extended receiver Nelson Agholor on a one year deal. Josh and Dante both agree that this is a great signing for the ball club and what they should do moving forward with the now unlikely reunion of guard Kevin Zeitler, who was not extended before Monday's deadline as many anticipated he would. Following some housekeeping around the Ravens, notable Baltimore sports social media figure Zach Bollinger joins the show in a GREAT talk to discuss all things Ravens and Orioles. From how he got his start in sports media, to the infamous “Johnny” tweet, breaking down football with ESPN's Mina Kimes, to his Baltimore Orioles hair power rankings, Zach chops it up with the boys. Hope y'all enjoy this one. We are so thankful for each and every one of you. Cheers to another incredible week of life.
