Foundation Cigar Company often themes its cigars around different cultures. Over the years, the branding of Foundation has paid homage to the cultures of Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Egypt, Jamaica, and England as well as Melillo's home state of Connecticut. That continued in 2023 as the owner Nicholas Melillo's company's new releases honored Nicaragua, Ethiopia, and Connecticut. A couple of the releases showcased this year were quite personal for Melillo, as there is a release honoring Melillo's grandfathers and one for a special honor that Melillo received from the country of Ethiopia. Foundation has worked with the Aganorsa and AJ Fernandez's factories to handle his production. This year, the focus was on the AJ Fernandez-produced brands. That's understandable because Aganorsa Leaf came into PCA 2023 with a strong lineup of brand and line extensions. Heading up the lineup is one big line extension. Earlier this year, Aganorsa Leaf released the new iteration of the Supreme Leaf.  They used the toro size they previously used in 2020, but this time, the cigar is round instead of a boxed press.  This is the first time they have used a round format instead of the box press. From the Aganorsa Leaf press release: “Demand for Supreme Leaf continues to grow and we are committed to releasing the same incredible blend in a new format with each release, ” says Terence Reilly, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Rolling the blend as a traditional parejo and not box pressing it gives the consumer the opportunity to compare how this vitola compares to previous releases. I'm excited for the feedback from consumers once this hits the market in February, especially since this release will mark the first time in over a year Supreme Leaf will be available and expectations are higher than ever.” Packaged in boxes of ten, Aganorsa Leaf Supreme Leaf Toro will consist of 2,750 boxes and will be available for order.
