Special guest Dan Condon (Luke and Russ's old man - see what I did there) joins us as we dive deep into the waters that are Year Of The Horse. We talk about the album and the film and the crazy differences between the two. We share Neil story's. Talk a little more Billy Joel. Dan tells how he got into Neil. Luke tells stories from the film. Mike tells more incorrect facts about the Hale Bop comet. (I know that's probably spelled wrong. I don't care.) What we're trying to say is - we smell the horse on this one baby. Quelques disques : Sinéad O'Connor – The Lion And The Cobra (1987) Sinéad O'Connor – I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got (1990) Sinéad O'Connor – Am I Not Your Girl (1992) (album de reprises jazz) Sinéad O'Connor – Universal Mother (1994) Sinéad O'Connor – Gospel Oak (1997) Sinéad O'Connor – Sean-Nos Nua (2002) (album de reprises folklore irlandais) Sinéad O'Connor – Throw Down Your Arms (2005) (album de reprises reggae) Sinéad O'Connor – Collaborations (2005) (Avec Asian Dub Foundation, The Blockhead, Peter Gabriel, Jah Wobble…) Massive Attack – 100th Window (2003) (trois morceaux avec Sinéad O'Connor) Et un chouette live : Year Of The Horse, live at Forest National, Brussels (1991) Retrouvez la playlist avec tous les morceaux utilisés pour l'épisode ici : https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5oRE3A8zXFQQNu0aNDVhcD?si=2a16a2ada8f54fbf facebook twitter Instagram

In December 2013 David Cameron took the largest ever delegation of British business people to China, signing over £6bn worth of deals for British businesses. The opportunities for British companies in China clearly remain significant, but there has also been considerable investment in the other direction in recent years too. However, all of this is set against a backdrop of slowing GDP growth, rising wages and regulatory challenges that have led some commentators to question whether investing in China is still as an attractive proposition for foreign companies as it once was. In this podcast, we debate the challenges and opportunities for UK companies investing in China; the size of the prize for Chinese companies investing in the UK; and the significance of David Cameron’s recent visit. We are joined by - Guy Dru-Drury, the chief CBI representative in China; - Daniella Goldman, the director of public policy and government relations at Huawei Technologies UK; - Ian Hunt, the Gabbitas education managing director; and - Duncan Innes-Ker, the Economist Joint Intelligence Unit's regional editor, Asia.

Brute Force in the Year of the Horse, 2014 Maybe it’s not fear that stops people from pushing through. As the cliche says, always trying to put a round peg in a square hole. Don’t most people that change the world do this? For most it’s an upset to the way things are suppose to be; the unfamilar, the usual, as a painter paints a painting that shocks the system into thinking about subjects in a new light. The “normal” in society tells us that we dont want to rock the boat, but to do what is expected of us, they may talk about us behind our back, call us names, or chastise us into getting back in line because we upset the natural rhythm of things. Often we don’t try something new because we may be wrong, or aleast it seems wrong from the point of view of “those in charge.” Follow me on twitter @changealready and @jillianmaasbackman.
