The book, Signals & Levers, gives software engineers a practical vocabulary and toolkit for that examination. A core insight is that most organizational dysfunction isn't caused by bad people or bad intentions, but by systems that produce bad outcomes predictably and structurally. The named archetypes in the book — over 20 of them, covering patterns like escalating technical debt, the "fixes that fail" loop, and the boiling frog — give teams a shared language to recognize and reason about those patterns without having to discover them from scratch.The most practically actionable section of the conversation covers signals versus levers: understanding the difference between information (a signal) and an intervention point (a lever) is the foundation for making changes that actually work rather than changes that feel productive and achieve nothing. On AI, both authors are cautious in the right ways: Elisabeth uses it daily as a thinking partner but keeps herself firmly at the steering wheel. Joel's warning is starker — AI amplifies whatever is already true about your organization, including dysfunction, and if it lets you ship faster than you can learn, the consequences may be severe. We talk through what “superabundance” really looks like in modern scale modeling: a flood of high-quality plastic model kits, aftermarket decals, 3D printed parts, and specialized paint and weathering products that would've felt impossible a couple decades ago. Using examples like the suddenly crowded field of 1/72 P-40B kits, we dig into why the golden age of modeling is real, and how it can still leave you stuck staring at options instead of making progress. We also share listener-driven updates and community news as the IPMS Nationals get closer, including travel plans, meetups, and the behind-the-scenes effort it takes to host fellow modelers while your house and hobby room are mid-remodel. Shibari poslední roky zažívá solidní rozmach. Stačí pár minut na internetu a během chvíle najdete stovky návodů, tisíce fotografií a videí, podle kterých se může zdát, že stačí koupit první jutové provazy a začít vázat. Jenže právě tady i podle nás vzniká největší omyl.V novém dílu Lascivního podcastu se podíváme na vzdělávací kurz Bound Bodies Architect, který místo rychlých návodů staví na bezpečnosti, komunikaci a hlubším pochopení toho, co vlastně shibari je. Petr tentokrát nevyrazil jako novinář ani jako rigger (oproti dřívějšímu workshopu a jamům od NMRV - via díly 143, 113 a 106), ale jako rope bunny. Neboli model, který si celý několikaměsíční kurz prošel z opačné strany provazu. Aly na kurzu nebyla, a tak se tentokrát ujímá role zvídavé moderátorky a pokládá otázky, které napadnou většinu lidí, kteří o podobném kurzu uvažují.Jaké to je strávit několik měsíců (i tohle matoucí pojmenování si vysvětlíme - a Aly ho xkrát vypíchne zas a znovu :)) v prostředí, kde se neučí jen uzly, ale především práce s lidským tělem? Co všechno se během kurzu řeší, proč je body manipulation (a chybně a opakovaně Petrem zmíněné bodymodulace!)stejně důležitá jako samotné vázání a proč dobrý rigger musí rozumět těžišti, pohybu, psychice i neverbální komunikaci? Bavíme se o tom, proč každý úvaz vypráví trochu jiný příběh a proč je mnohem důležitější pochopit partnera než se naučit další efektní techniku.Velkou část rozhovoru věnujeme bezpečnosti. Právě ta je podle nás největší přidanou hodnotou celého programu. Místo otázky „Jak uvázat?“ totiž přichází mnohem důležitější otázka: „Kdy raději nevázat?“ Povídáme si o nervových zraněních, první pomoci při shibari, prevenci krizových situací i o tom, proč nestačí sledovat videa na YouTube. Ta vás možná naučí uzel, ale nenaučí vás rozpoznat, že partner přestává cítit prsty, že je ve stresu nebo že jeho tělo vysílá varovné signály.Překvapilo nás také, jak pestrý tým odborníků za kurzem stojí. Vedle zkušeného lektora shibari Alive Jirky (a jeho modelky Myu_blay) se na výuce podílí fyzioterapeutka Aniya, psycholožka Radzuka (via díl 122), záchranář i český výrobce provazů Janek (Janeksrope). Právě propojení různých oborů dává celému programu rozměr, který jsme na české scéně zatím příliš neviděli.Společně řešíme i otázku, jestli má certifikace v oblasti shibari smysl, komu je podobný kurz určený a zda se dá kvalitní shibari naučit pouze z internetu. Vracíme se ke svým vlastním začátkům, mluvíme o chybách, které jsme udělali, i o tom, co bychom dnes udělali jinak.Nakonec jsme se oba shodli na jedné věci. Největší hodnotou Bound Bodies Architect nejsou nové uzly ani složitější závěsy. Je to změna způsobu přemýšlení. Protože kvalitní shibari nezačíná u provazu. Shiggi loves BJJ and thinks that it can build and change communities in Africa, and is on a mission to open a community dojo in Kenya aimed at empowering girls aged 12 to 18.  Shiggi is a BJJ practioner with a background in Shotokan karate, Taekwondo, Capoeira, and working the door as a bouncer in UK night clubs. Her ambitious goal is to establish a community dojo in Kenya that not only teaches Jiu-Jitsu but also provides a safe space for girls to learn self-defense and life skills to counteract some of the societal issues affecting young girls in Africa, such as child marriages, domestic violence, and lack of educational opportunities. The community dojo will be situated in Kenya and serve as a retreat space where tourists can engage in Jiu-Jitsu camps and go on safaris to see lions, elephants and giraffes. Camp attendees will generate funds to support the dojo and its programs. This model not only benefits the local economy but also provides an enriching experience for visitors.
