What's the prime time for Wrestling Tracks? Lee Houston is tossing around ideas: Morning Crew or Night Crew – we want YOUR take! Hit us up at wrestlingtracks@gmail.com with the subject line "Time For Wrestling" and let us know where you stand. Now, let's get down to business. This episode, Lee shares some initial thoughts on the reported WWE releases of Ron "R-Truth" Killings and Carlito. R-Truth, a veteran who's been with the company since its (sometimes controversial) World Wrestling Federation days (now WWE, of course!), is a fan favorite. But Lee's main problem isn't the releases themselves – it's the complaints. While many are understandably upset, Lee asks: what are fans really going to do about it beyond being keyboard warriors? He's not holding back on this one!In the full episode, we'll talk about: Tune in for our deeper discussion on these topics Thursday at 9pm OR Friday at 10pm (immediately following Smackdown!):More on the R-Truth and Carlito releases. How you can legitimately invest in WWE through Cash App (only invest what you're comfortable with!)."

Kurt Angle is an American retired professional wrestler and Olympic gold medalist renowned for his exceptional wrestling career. He achieved international acclaim by winning a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympics, notably competing with a broken neck. Transitioning to professional wrestling, Kurt joined the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in 1998, where he became a multi-time world champion and was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017. Beyond wrestling, he has pursued acting and launched the Kurt Angle Brand, extending his influence beyond the ring. In this episode… Many high performers push through pain in pursuit of greatness — physically, mentally, and emotionally — but how much is too much? What happens when dedication turns into addiction, or when a lifelong dream is achieved and suddenly there's no plan for what's next? These moments can leave even the toughest champions searching for identity, purpose, and healing. Olympic gold medalist and professional wrestling icon Kurt Angle shares his raw, behind-the-scenes journey from dominating the mat to battling personal demons. He reveals how mindset shifts helped him overcome repeated failure and physical setbacks — including wrestling with a broken neck. Kurt also offers insight on managing addiction, finding purpose after peak success, and the importance of support systems, humility, and continual growth inside and outside the ring. In this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast, co-hosts Dr. Jeremy Weisz and Andrew Gottlieb interview Kurt Angle, Olympic gold medalist and Founder of Kurt Angle Brand, about the highs and lows of his legendary career. Kurt dives into his physical and emotional challenges, discusses lessons from WWE and Olympic wrestling, and opens up about his recovery journey.

Recorded October 2020. (Episode 256) Join Vaughn Johnson and Nick Piccone for this classic episode as they dive deep into WWF In Your House: Buried Alive! It was the 11th In Your House pay-per-view offering from the revolutionary force in sports entertainment, and it took place on October 20, 1996 at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1996, the World Wrestling Federation was trying some new things, especially with the nWo angle in World Championship Wrestling beginning to take off in popularity. This Buried Alive Match was one of those things, and simply put, the winner would have to bury his opponent alive. We take a deep dive, no pun intended, into the pay-per-view, where many parts were moving: Jim Ross was a heel, the show opened with a heel vs. heel match, Owen Hart/British Bulldog and the Smoking Gunns having another terrible ending to their second straight pay-per-view match, Marc Mero blew out his knee, Goldust threatened to stick his tongue down everyone's throats, Sid being super over at this time, the entrance gate, and just how much "buried alive" is buried alive? -- Follow us on Twitter/X [@_piccone] [@VaughnMJohnson] [@ShootersRadio] You can subscribe to The Straight Shooters on the following platforms: [Apple Podcasts] [Spotify] [iHeartRadio] [Amazon] [Audacy] [TuneIn Radio] [Pandora] and wherever else you get your podcasts! shooterspod.com Exclusive Patreon content: [patreon.com/shootersradio] Facebook: [The Straight Shooters] --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shootersradio/support

In 2005, Brad Balukjian left his position as a magazine fact-checker to pursue a dream job: partner with his childhood hero, The Iron Sheik (whose real name was Khosrow Vaziri), to write his biography. Things quickly went south, culminating in the Sheik threatening Balukjian's life. Now seventeen years later, Balukjian returns to the road in search of not only a reunion with the Sheik, but something much bigger: truth in a world built on illusion. Balukjian seeks out six of the Sheik's contemporaries, fellow witnesses to the World Wrestling Federation's (WWF) explosion in the mid-‘80s, to unearth their true identities. As Balukjian drives 12,525 miles around the country, we revisit the heady days when these avatars of strength, villainy, and heroism first found fame and see where their journeys took them. From working out with Tony Atlas (Tony White) to visiting Hulk Hogan's (Terry Bollea) karaoke bar, we see where these men are now and how they have navigated the cliffs of fame. The Six Pack: On the Open Road in Search of Wrestlemania (Hachette, 2024) combines the spirit of a fan with the rigor of an investigative reporter, tracking down former WWF employees, childhood friends, and mutually curious archivists. Wrestling is perceived as a subculture without a cultural home, somewhere between sport and theater—often dismissed as silly and low‑brow. But what makes this book so compelling is the humanity beneath each wrestler. The Iron Sheik, Hulk Hogan, and the rest of the cast were not characters in a comic book movie. They were real people, with families and feelings and bodies that could break. Most of them did, in fact, break; some have been repaired, but none of them will ever be the same. Paul Knepper covered the New York Knicks for Bleacher Report. His first book was The Knicks of the Nineties: Ewing, Oakley, Starks and the Brawlers That Almost Won. The Whiskey Rebellion is back baby! This iteration brings back host Mark Radulich with new Co-Host Pat Mullin! Tonight's topics include our Old School 1970s Pro Wrestling Discussion. We'll discuss legends like legends like Dusty Rhodes and Bruno Sammartino.Virgil Riley Runnels Jr. (October 12, 1945 – June 11, 2015), better known as "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, was an American professional wrestler, booker, and trainer who worked for the National Wrestling Alliance and the World Wrestling Federation, later known as WWE. Rhodes was considered a star wrestler and presented the persona of an American everyman, the American Dream personified. Rhodes is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.Bruno Leopoldo Francesco Sammartino (October 6, 1935 – April 18, 2018) was an Italian-American professional wrestler. He is best known for his time with the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE). Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Sammartino's 2,803-day reign as WWF World Heavyweight Champion is the longest in the championship's history as well as the longest world title reign in WWE history. The Universal Wrestling Federation was a 1986 re-branding of wrestler-turned-owner Bill Watts' Mid-South Wrestling promotion. Watts' goal was to elevate his promotion from a relatively smaller, regional-level business, to a national-level rival of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now known as WWE). However, Watts' business strategy quickly swung from "overnight" success to catastrophic failure, resulting in the 1987 sale of the UWF to another rival: Jim Crockett Promotions (owner of Mid-Atlantic Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA)'s most important championships, and the predecessor of World Championship Wrestling). The promotion began as an NWA territory, NWA Tri-State, founded by Leroy McGuirk in the 1950s. Tri-State/Mid-South/UWF promoted in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi until 1987.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

I'd had a couple failed runs then Kane came along,” said Jacobs who often gets confused as Undertaker's real life brother. “A lot of people think we're brothers outside the ring because we look alike. We're virtually the same size.” His iconic career spanned several decades in WWE but an image that could not have been more opposite from how he began was shown 21 years later. Recorded July 2021. The WWF in 1997 had some very, very good things, and some very, very bad things. Their July pay-per-view offering in Calgary, Alberta, Canada was one of the best events they produced that year. With a very dynamic and non-traditional babyface Hart Foundation in Canada vs. those American jerks of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Goldust, Ken Shamrock and the Legion of Doom, the roles would be reversed if you just crossed the border into the United States. Looking back, it may be one of the best angles in wrestling history. The Calgary Stampede is a staple event each year, so the World Wrestling Federation decided to piggyback off that and dive deep into the western Cowboy scene on this pay-per-view weekend. Nick and Vaughn discuss everything surrounding the event, where they were in life, and what they thought about each and every moment of this pay-per-view, and even the world of wrestling during this time period. -- Follow us on Twitter/X [@_piccone] [@VaughnMJohnson] [@ShootersRadio] You can subscribe to The Straight Shooters on the following platforms: [Apple Podcasts] [Spotify] [iHeartRadio] [Amazon] [Audacy] [TuneIn Radio] [Pandora] and wherever else you get your podcasts! shooterspod.com Exclusive Patreon content: [patreon.com/shootersradio] Facebook: [The Straight Shooters] --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shootersradio/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shootersradio/support

WCW/nWo Revenge is a professional wrestling video game released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64 game console. It is the sequel to 1997's WCW vs. nWo: World Tour. Like its predecessor, Revenge features AKI's revolutionary grappling system as well as heavily improved graphics, a championship mode, and a large roster of wrestlers (real and fictional). Revenge gained critical praise and tremendous commercial success. According to a 1999 article by IGN, Revenge was the best-selling wrestling game for the N64 console,[1] and at the time, was the top selling third-party Nintendo game ever.[2] Revenge was the last AKI-developed WCW game for the Nintendo 64. The next AKI wrestling game released for the console, WWF WrestleMania 2000, sported THQ's newly acquired World Wrestling Federation license. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wvuncommonplace/message
