The answer isn't always the truth. Today we're talking about two different but very deceptive thought patterns that keep people from creating change in their lives. One is the mindset of "I know", where you dismiss information, strategies and tools you're already familiar with instead of grabbing the opportunity presented by the reminder to take action on them. It really doesn't matter if you "you know", what matters is whether or not you're doing those things. The second is the mindset of "I don't know" - a pattern of letting yourself off the hook and letting uncertainty be a stopping point. It should be a starting point. If there is a gap between when you know and what you do, this episode is one you can't miss! Hey Weight Loss Nation! Today is a 5 Minute Snack Day! I have a very healthy snack for you! It's Banana, Dark Chocolate Cookies! That's Right! Another delicious, healthy snack. Let's make them! BANANA DARK CHOCOLATE COOKIES Should Make About 8 Cookies Ingredients 1/2 cup coconut flour, sifted. I used Bob Red Mill Organic Coconut – in most supermarkets. 1/2 cup mashed banana (about 2 medium ones) 1/4 cup almond butter (use whatever nut butter you want)* As I’ve said in prior episodes, I use Artisana Raw Organic Almond Butter. One of the least processed and healthiest almond butter. Go to http://www.artisanaorganics.com to purchase almond butter or you can find Artisana almond butter in your nearest Health Food Store, Whole Foods, Sprouts etc. 1/4 cup raw, unfiltered honey (Buy LOCAL Raw, Unfiltered Honey. That’s the best for you. If you live near Savannah, GA you wouldn’t want to buy Raw, Unfiltered Honey from Oregon, because the honey from Oregon contains local pollen & nutrients from that area. If you live in Oregon, check out Raw Oregon Honey at www.raworegonhoney.com If you live near Savannah, GA you want raw, local honey that contains the local pollen & nutrients from your neighborhood. check out HL Franklin Honey at www.FranklinFoodsLLC.com 1.5 oz Dark Chocolate - I use Taza “Wicked Dark” Chocolate bar. Taza has one of the least processed Dark Chocolate in the friggin world. With the “Wicked Dark,” containing 95% Dark Chocolate, SWEET is NO longer in the equation. We’re talking HEALTHY HERE! You’ll use ½ of the “Wicked Dark” Chocolate Bar for this recipe. Go to www.tazachocolate.com to purchase “Wicked Dark” Chocolate Bars. Instructions Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a cooking sheet with baking paper and set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine the coconut flour and banana and mix well. The batter should be very crumbly. In a microwave safe bowl or stovetop, melt the almond butter and pour into the dry mixture. Add the honey. Mix until a thick batter is formed. Break up the Dark Chocolate into small pieces & add to the batter. Form into balls and transfer "8" balls to the lined cookie sheet. Press firmly into a flat, cookie shape and bake for 12-15 minutes. Stick a knife in the cookie to see if it's done. If the knife comes out dry....the cookies are done! If the knife is still wet, put it back into the oven for a minute or two. Remove and allow to sit for 10 minutes until they firm up slightly. These cookies can be kept at room temperature covered for up to 3 days. These are delicious refrigerated and can also be frozen too. NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION Serving Size - ONE Cookie Calories – 130 Fat – 4gms Carbs – 20gms Fiber – 4gms Protein – 3.5 gms Sugar – 8gms Primarily from the honey! So you’re talking about organic, natural sugar. NOT Processed Sugars. We’re talking Glucose & Fructose in honey. WANT MORE INFO ON WLN? Use coupon code “SUPSLEEP” for 10% off! Reasons you should check out Somnifix: Mouth breathing is highly inefficient. Besides leading to dry mouth, sore throat, and nasal congestion, it can cause snores, lowered blood oxygen saturation, and worsened immunity. These have serious consequences for health, fitness, and sleep. The simple solution to all of these issues is breathing through the nose. It’s easy to be cognizant of breathing during the day, but mouth breathing during sleep is widespread because we are paralyzed for certain parts of our sleep. This paralysis, called atonia, particularly affects the muscles around the mouth and neck. A great way to ensure proper breathing is by using SomniFix Mouth Strips. They are fully hypoallergenic–we’ve done extensive biocompatibility testing to ensure that users won’t experience allergic reactions or irritated skin. Our adhesive was specially-engineered for the lips. That means no pain or difficulty removing it, and no sticky residue left behind. It also releases just with the force of opening the mouth (another safety feature). We included the mesh-covered breathing vent to ensure limited mouth breathing is possible if necessary. We conducted clinical trials with our device in partnership with researchers from Harvard Medical School, and we saw that our strips are effective in reducing ‘mouth’ snores and in improving breathing efficiency. All contents of our box (box, pouches, strips, branded liner) are recyclable. Remember, the nose is for breathing and the mouth is for eating Use “SUPSLEEP” for 10% off and tag us with your mouth tape on Instagram! 17:00 - ARTISANA GIVEAWAY!!! I’m on the couch in a position that’s going to put my back into pain later on, with a dog who is sitting between my legs near my calves. Dead asleep snoring at times, so you’ll hear that, per usual. Just getting back to the gist. Getting back to normal here in Colorado. I just landed. I need to take a sip of water. I just landed in Colorado from Cabo yesterday. So, that’s my first time in Cabo, and I have to say, it is amazing. Cabo is freaking awesome. I get why people travel there all the time. Because it’s freaking awesome. And I always hear people say; oh, Cabo is so Americanized. It’s so touristy now. But number one; I did not get sick in Cabo. And number two, I found f*cking awesome brands, like Eating Evolved, and Artisana, and some of my favorite paleo brands, I was able to find in Cabo. So I think that was great. So just backtrack for a second, in case you didn’t listen to one of my recent podcasts. I went to Tulum three weeks ago. I was in Tulum for my best friend’s 30th birthday, and I got incredibly bad food poisoning. The worst pain I’ve ever been in. And this is coming from a person who is allergic to gluten and grew up in a hospital because I was in so much physical in. This was the worst pain. It was f*cking awful. It was so awful. So I was very nervous about going to Cabo back to back, after I had just gotten better from that terrible experience. Turns out, Cabo was a totally different experience. So here’s a little info about our trip.
