Breastfeeding is universal, however the options for support are not. In the US an Osteopath has very different training than in Australia, where all Osteopaths are trained in Osteopathic Manual manipulation (OMM) unlike in the US where it's difficult to find an Osteopath with any manual training at all. In Australia there's also no prescribing from an Osteopath. Kirsten Hannah is not only an IBCLC but also an Osteopath supporting families in the AU with her immense knowledge. Listen as Kirsten Hannah and Katie Oshita discuss biological norms, root cause support and tongue tie in the US and AU.Podcast Guest: Kirsten Hannan is an Australian trained and registered Osteopath with 20 years of clinical practice experience, with a particular interest in pregnancy and postpartum care and working with babies and children of all ages. She has experience in treating babies for a variety of issues, including latching and feeding difficulties, birth trauma, neck tension, flat head syndrome and digestive issues. Kirsten uses a variety of osteopathic treatment methods, including cranial osteopathy. Her passion for education and helping children to develop in the best possible way led her to further her knowledge of breastfeeding and she qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2017. She enjoys integrating the very best of bodywork and evidence-based lactation care and support to help mums and their babies.Kirsten is a speaker, an author and reviewer for the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine, a member of Osteopathy Australia and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).Podcast Host: Katie Oshita, RN, BSN, IBCLC has over 25 years of experience working in Maternal-Infant Medicine. While Katie sees clients locally in western WA, Katie is also a telehealth lactation consultant believing that clients anywhere in the world deserve the best care possible for their needs. Being an expert on TOTs, Katie helps families everywhere navigate breastfeeding struggles, especially when related to tongue tie or low supply. Katie is also passionate about finding the root cause of symptoms, using Functional Medicine practices to help client not just survive, but truly thrive. In this final episode of the I AM podcast series Jonny speaks to Osteopath of the year Feed Roscop who combines a passion to learn and his technical excellence with an incredible gift to tap into energetic, electromagnetic field around and inside his patients. All of this allows him to assist people towards establishing deeply powerful foundations of wellness and wellbeing. During the conversation Fred explains what these foundations are and what they mean and he lays out how the osteopathic process of “find it, fix it and leave it alone” works and does it's magic. What's even more inspiring than this is hearing the possibilities that can actually arise from simply exploring and cleansing ourselves of the traumas, injuries, toxins and microorganisms that anchor themselves in our bodies and begin to decide our life for us. Fred's message is clear; that when we begin functioning well on a microscopic and macroscopic levels we give ourselves a chance to connect to our own purpose and our own journey as well as the guidance we need to develop to execute it. We grow, evolve and tune into the creative forces of the universe and open to receiving the upgrades it is constantly offering us.Health and wellness suddenly take on much bigger meaning when you understand it from the depth that Fred can offer. Breastfeeding is universal and lactation support is needed everywhere. Katie Oshita and Kyrie Hickey discuss pumps, providers and paid time off in Australia and how those things differ with what's offered in the US. Listen here for more.Pocast Guest: Kyrie Hickey is an RN, RM and IBCLC from Brisbane, Australia. How can being highly sensitive be a gift rather than a burden, and how do we learn to embrace and navigate that sensitivity in our lives and work?In this episode, we dive into the world of bodywork and healing. Jo is an experienced Osteopath whose journey has taken her beyond physical health and into the realms of emotional and spiritual. We explored how we can create a safe space for ourselves - and our patients - to surrender, trust and come home to our bodies. Jo shared how she navigated and still navigates her path as a highly sensitive being and it can be a gateway for deep transformation. If you're someone who identifies as highly sensitive or if you're curious about how shamanic practices can be integrated into modern therapeutic work, this episode is for you. Tune in to hear Jo's powerful insights and learn how you can navigate your own healing journey with more softness, trust, and confidence - and meet the fear of being “weird” or “witchy”! Read more about Jo: Jo initially earned a degree in Fine Art before retraining as an Osteopath, inspired by her own positive experience with osteopathic treatment for back pain. She has been a practicing Osteopath for over 17 years. In addition to her clinical work, Jo lectures at the European School of Osteopathy and serves as a personal tutor and student mentor.Jo's specialist interest lies in working with the effects of trauma and stress, whether stemming from physical or emotional causes. During her exploration of trauma responses, she encountered the shamanic concept of "soul loss," which sparked her interest in shamanism and indigenous healing practices. Since 2019, Jo has been training in psycho-spiritual and therapeutic shamanism, focusing on integrating shamanic techniques into modern therapeutic settings.Jo is also deeply committed to supporting her fellow osteopathic colleagues in leading happy and fulfilling professional lives. She is currently training to become a supervisor, aiming to guide osteopaths towards a more confident, joyful, and fulfilling practice. In this conversation we talked about: * Jo's journey from Fine Art to Osteopathy: How her personal experience with back pain led her to explore the healing arts — and why understanding that sensitivity doesn't equal shyness has been key. * Exploring sensitivity as a strength: Jo shares her own healing journey as a sensitive person, coming to understand her emotional and physical sensitivity as a powerful tool rather than something to be "fixed."* How Jo meets trauma and stress in her clinical practice: Jo introduces shamanic practices and explains how she integrates these ancient techniques with Osteopathic treatment to address trauma and emotional blockages.- And so much more … :-) Receive my free mini course: From body shame and disconnect to joy and into the fullness of your creative power: - www.flurinathali.com/ ---The Soft Rebellion Podcast is created and hosted by Flurina Dominique Thali. I started getting osteopathy treatments in the early years of motherhood and it helped me so much. My body was rather misaligned and in pain after two pregnancies, carrying babies for hours every day and not taking proper care of myself. Osteopathy was one of the modalities that helped me so much on my journey back to prioritizing myself and having my health and energy back. I only wish I had known of osteopathy and its benefits before I had my children. I had no idea that it could have helped with having a more easeful birth and supported my baby and myself with the many common newborn challenges. How good is that? In the most recent episode of The Wild and Well Podcast, I chat with Osteopath Tessa Lang-Larson about how we can use osteopathy to our benefit during pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. Tessa and I chat about: What osteopathy is How osteopathy can support fertility The benefits of osteopathy for pregnancy and birth The importance of proper alignment for birth Doable strategies to support a more easeful birth Why early intervention is optimal but that it is never too late to make positive changes How we can help our children with their anxiety, emotional regulation, and postural development Tessa is a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner. She is a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. She graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in 2021 and obtained her specialization in Infant Osteopathy in 2023. Tessa is a mom of three. She is also one of the founders of The Well Body Group in the Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. This centre offers a holistic approach to health and offers osteopathy, massage, pediatric physiotherapy, counselling and several other health modalities. Tessa's interest in supporting women and their babies to have optimal health during pregnancy and postpartum began after birthing her first two children. Using osteopathy, Tessa helps moms with pregnancy-related issues such as aches and pains and proper pelvic alignment for an optimal birth. She also helps with many common issues for infants, including lactation and latching, tongue ties, colic and other digestive concerns, and sleep challenges. Frédéric Roscop is no regular #Osteopath. Last year, he was awarded Osteopath of the year and Wellbeing start-up of the year at the Forttuna Global Excellence Awards® Most importantly, Fred is a wizard when it comes to holistic approach of care, focusing on Body, Mind and Energy. He is a researcher in #QantumBiology and has integrated his discoveries in his brand AEQUIL. A few things about Fred:
I'm a medical intuitive, once upon a time osteopath, western medical acupuncturist and herbalist that stepped out of that world to speak about the real issues, root cause and most importantly process emotions. My name is Jin Ong and today I want to share with you how I got into this line of work- and it was through my own pain experience. I founded the Release Process ® a verbal dialogue process that I facilitate in a 1:1 setting with clients (mainly those on a cancer journey or complex health issues) or teach you with guidance and support in my 6 week release course that only runs twice a year. To join the waitlist for Feb & August openings https://theartoflisteningtoyourbody.com/release-course It's not something you can learn on your own because your human will do the sneaky bypasses when it gets hard, which means you won't truly process your emotions or receive the message. This level of emotional work is definitely not for everyone. I work with people with complex health conditions that have tried it all conventional, alternative, surgery and other emotional modalities. You've got to be someone who is ready to step into your power and take radical responsibility for where you're at and where you're going.

I knew from an early age that I was different. Always curious about the rationales behind decisions, stumped at why do most people go right when my intuition tells me to go left. Throughout my 11 year nursing career, I focused on oncology and hospice and education; but, lost faith in the medical system knowing that pharmaceutical medicine was only a quarter of the puzzle. I dove into personal development through the work of transformation in 2019, nervous system regulation teaching, death doula work, and alternative cancer treatment all as my gifts and life's work. Today I continue serving as a certified Mastery of Transformation coach, death doula, and coaching sales expert. Alongside a dash of singer/songwriter, painter, and poet. In this episode, I'm joined by MJ Renshaw, the founder of The Being Method, a course on the science of spirituality. She believes healing can be fun, love is a superpower, and the power of being in the present moment. We discuss how MJ left her career of being an Osteopath to chase after her dreams. Following the principles in The Being Method helped her start her business, accumulate passive income so she could mother and travel while still earning, meet and keep the man of her dreams, end generational trauma to raise healthy babies, and live a truly abundant life. MJ believes everyone is here to live their authentic lives and in this episode she shares her story on how she was able to accomplish this for herself through regulating her nervous system and prioritizing mindset. “Learning about your emotions and learning how to express and feel them is life changing. A lot of us are not taught what they are or how to self-regulate. Learning to accept and surrender to those emotions starts to feel good. In the intense grief, is love.” Rate, review, and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, or on your favorite podcast platform. Today we spoke with one of our new dear friends, who was kind enough to share time with us today as our first guest in Panama. Andrea is from Bolzano, Italy, and lived there most of his life before embarking on a journey to this new country a few years ago. He and his family braved the unforeseen change ahead and have found new strength and meaning in their lives. We appreciate making such a meaningful friendship with our families, and his wealth of knowledge goes deep into the physical, mental, existential, and beyond. His more than 24 year career as an Osteopath led him to find even more ways to heal with a holistic approach as opposed to a compartmentalized one, and therefore created his own path to work with others. Below are his links and also I am adding the new found ways I use to now learn from our many friends suggestions and information that is in many languages, and these tools help me just like Google Translate does all the time. Don't let a language online be a barrier from reading and listening to others around the globe.Just living here exposes us to what's happening in many countries by speaking directly with our friends, and helps us get a pulse on global actions happening that otherwise we would have no true idea how to form an opinion. Nick Hounsfield was introduced to surfing by his father Brian in the mid 1970s on his regular visits to Cornwall in the United Kingdom. He has been an avid surfer ever since.Nick became an Osteopath by trade and founded a successful family business with this wife. But as time wore on and when Nick's father passed away in the late 2000's, he started to think about the world a little differently. He began to think about open spaces in nature and the healing aspects of engaging and being in nature. He started to realize that a lot of people's poor health was due to a number of things such as not exercising, not eating well, lack of connection to others, lack of nature connectedness and so on…He set about trying to pull these different factors together and look at how he could solve some of these issues through one holistic vision. By chance this was around the same time that Wavegarden released a video of their first technology which would bring waves inland, for the first time.Nick had a eureka moment. And this was the start of his mythological quest to bring his concept of The Wave to the United Kingdom.
