Sean and Amber bemoan longwindedness at The Moth. They also get into why the revival of the ASSSCAT show at UCB Theater should be called "6 foot 7 foot 8 foot bunch," or perhaps "Beetlejuice," the horrible traffic in remote parts of Mexico, and why they're skipping (or at least postponing) this week's La Brea-kdown. Rachel Dratch recently had her Broadway debut in POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, a play by Selina Fillinger. With three decades of experience in the business, Rachel recalls her SNL days where she worked for seven years and compares the pressure that came along with it and how it differs from doing Broadway. She speaks candidly about her love for comedy, particularly improv and sketch, and whether she'll ever try drama on stage or in movies. Rachel also shares why she prefers sticking to the script and rarely improvises on a film, why she decided to leave SNL, and why you should have fun when you're in a "dip". Rachel Dratch is an actress, comedian, and writer, whose latest stage credits include POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, her Broadway debut. She was a cast member on Saturday Night Live for seven years, where she had memorable characters like Debbie Downer, Boston teen Denise, and the "Lovers" professors with Will Ferrell. She was an alumna of the Second City Theater in Chicago, where she performed in four revues on the main stage, two of which she received the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Actress in a Revue. Some of her live comedy credits include ASSSCAT 3000 at the UCB Theater in New York, "Dratch and Fey". Her TV credits include "Frasier," "Ugly Betty," "30 Rock," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," and "Shameless," and some of her film credits include "Wine Country," "Click," and "Just Go with It." This week's episode is awesome because we have one of NYC's best comedy bookers, the funny and charming Patrick Cotnoir (The George Lucas Talk Show, The Chris Gethard Show). Patrick and Anna talk all about how this episode happened, because it was through a DM that Patrick sent Anna when he was recently laid off from a job. (REMINDER: While we love to talk to people about their job history we in no way want you to lose jobs! Keep your benefits!) Patrick has been a booker in NYC for a while and booked one of the most popular shows in the New York improv scene, Assscat at UCB (now Raaatscraps). Anna tells Patrick how it rocked her world to get booked as the monologist on this show there before the pandemic. We take it back to Patrick's early jobs and internships which were alllll over map, one of which was picking tobacco as a teenager on a farm. Not your first thought when you hear he's from Connecticut! But then he interned at Sesame Street, so that's a fun change. Also Anna and Patrick manifest their next jobs, which are both to work for Drew Barrymore. Check out all of the incredible shows he books!! And make sure to follow him on Twitter @PatrickCotnoir so he can reach his goal of having more followers than NBC's The Blacklist: Redemption. Don't forget to rate, review, and spread the love (Patreon) for this podcast! And if you want to call in, we love that - give us a call or email us!

We'd love to introduce Santina Muha but you likely already know about her from shows like the impossible to spell Spontaneanation, the strangely punctuated Comedy Bang! Bang!, the slightly difficult to spell and slightly strangely punctuated Assscat! and the easy to spell and punctuate One Day At A Time. Santina walks us through her early life in New Jersey, her college career studying sociology and her early jobs before moving to LA (including her time reporting for Tiger Beat Magazine). When she got to LA, she went straight to UCB to try her hand at comedy and hasn't looked back since. From hosting her own shows (the always well-photographed Rollin' With My Homies and Aunt Tina & Deena Celebrate) to stand-up to one-woman shows to this very podcast, Santina brings a singular wall-of-energy aesthetic to everything she creates. Does that include the show Pretty that is currently in development over at CBS? Well, you're going to have to listen to find out. As always, thanks for tuning in!NOTESSeason 03 Episode 05Comedy: From The Jersey Shore To The Stages At UCB with Santina MuhaRecorded on January 15, 2020Released on February 11, 2020Episode Duration: 01:11:28Santina Muha can be found on Twitter & Instagram @SantinaMuha.Jesse can be found on Instagram @jjkoester and on the web at www.sunshinepicturesllc.com.Swinky can be found on Twitter & Instagram @swinkymusic and on the web at www.swinkymusic.com.Hollywood Fishbowl can be found on Instagram and Twitter @HWFishbowl and at www.hollywoodfishbowl.com.
