Acefield Retro & Chad are your hosts for Episode 115 of Wrestling Tonight, breaking down an eventful week in pro wrestling that reshaped the landscape across AEW, WWE, and beyond. AEW Revolution delivered a night filled with high-stakes matches, career-defining performances, and major title implications. Jon Moxley retained his AEW World Championship in a hard-fought battle, but the night truly belonged to Toni Storm and Mariah May. Their Falls Count Anywhere match, billed as The Hollywood Ending, lived up to its name—an emotional, brutal, and visually stunning war that left the AEW Women's Division forever changed. Kenny Omega, in only his fourth match back from injury, reclaimed gold in a must-see battle with Konosuke Takeshita, while Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher turned their deeply personal rivalry into an all-time great steel cage match. Swerve Strickland cemented himself as the next World Title challenger after a grueling victory over Ricochet, setting the stage for what could be AEW's next marquee feud. The fallout from Revolution will no doubt define the company's direction in the months ahead. Meanwhile, WWE saw multiple title changes and a dramatic escalation on the road to WrestleMania 41. IYO SKY ended Rhea Ripley's dominant reign to capture the WWE Women's World Championship in a result that stunned fans. LA Knight recaptured the United States Title in a hard-hitting rematch against Shinsuke Nakamura, while Shawn Spears shocked NXT by seizing the North American Championship from Tony D'Angelo, taking advantage of a lingering injury. But the most talked-about moment came at Elimination Chamber, where John Cena's long-teased heel turn became reality. After aligning with The Rock, Cena left Cody Rhodes battered and bloodied in a post-match attack—but it was rapper Travis Scott who delivered the most unexpected blow. A stiff slap to Rhodes ruptured his eardrum, raising questions about whether Cody will be at full strength heading into his WrestleMania 41 title defense. Over on SmackDown, another long-running mystery was finally solved. Jade Cargill made her return and confronted Naomi, revealing her as the one who had attacked her months ago. With the truth finally out, Jade wasted no time in seeking revenge, setting the stage for an intensely personal showdown in the near future. Elsewhere, the WrestleMania 41 build continues to take shape. CM Punk and Seth Rollins are set to collide in a steel cage match, The Rock's presence looms large over the title picture, and AJ Styles is ready to call out Logan Paul in what promises to be a heated confrontation at Madison Square Garden. Beyond WWE and AEW, the wrestling world remains in motion. TNA is making moves with the return of Chavo Guerrero Jr., the exit of Alex Hammerstone, and Eddie & Alisha Edwards committing to long-term deals. Cora Jade is set to challenge Masha Slamovich for the Knockouts Title at Sacrifice, while NJPW's championship landscape continues to evolve with Yuji Nagata stepping into a rare IWGP World Heavyweight Title match. Meanwhile, Zack Sabre Jr. is gearing up for a loaded WrestleMania weekend schedule, making multiple high-profile GCW appearances. And as for Travis Scott—was Elimination Chamber a one-off cameo, or is WWE positioning him for something bigger? His unexpected role in Cody Rhodes' brutal beatdown has sparked speculation that his involvement in WWE may not be over just yet. With AEW's Revolution reshaping the company's landscape, WWE's WrestleMania build reaching new levels of intensity, and TNA and NJPW making key moves, this is a week packed with major developments. Join us as we break it all down. Follow us @TurnbuckleTavern and join the Patreon for just $2.99 a month to get exclusive content and support the show!

Dave Penzer got his start in the wrestling business at Global Wrestling Alliance in South Florida first learning from Dean Malenko's father, Larry, and Bob Roop. He talks about his job finding and driving enhancement talent to matches, and how that inadvertently landed him at WCW. Penzer shares stories about his WCW days traveling with Jericho, Arn Anderson, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, and Chavo Guerrero Jr. including the big Arn Anderson and Eddie Guerrero fight over an apple pie, and the time Jericho stripped Dave Penzer of his clothes in a hotel bar & the footage ended up on the tabloid TV shows, Hard Copy & Inside Edition. He remembers what happened at a house show in Minnesota when Eric Bischoff overheard a conversation between Penzer and Jericho, and the night in Tupelo, Mississippi with Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Sting, and Randy Savage and the failed music cue. He talks about Vince Russo's detrimental impact on WCW, when Penzer knew the WCW ship was sinking, what that very last Nitro show was like for him, and the conversations he had with WWE after they bought WCW. Plus, he has a few tales about his initial TNA run, his return to Impact during the pandemic, and passing the TNA ring announcing mic to Jade Chung last December. Also, Masahiro Chono betrayed NJPW and joined the nWo and matches featuring Chris Jericho, the American Males, and a chaotic brawl between Kevin Sullivan and Chris Benoit. In professional wrestling, the Von Erich family was legendary. The patriarch of the family, Fritz, was a wrestler with his signature move “The Iron Claw.” He handed that down to his sons who took the wrestling world in Texas by storm. Everything was going so well until tragedy struck the Von Erich family. Unfortunately, fate would have it that one tragedy wouldn't be near enough. “The Iron Claw” tells this family's tale and doesn't flinch as it does. Is it worth jumping in the ring to check out? Tony, KJG & HK are back to bring you all things from the world of pro wrestling. The boys do some video game talk and catch up with each other before jumping into the wrestling world. Over the Top is a wild ride from WWE to Stardom and back to the NWA & MLW. Tony puts his degree to use and gives us a breakdown of the Rhaka Khan (Trenesha Biggers) Conspiracy Lawsuit. If you are not familiar with this one, hold on to your hats as the boys go over the list of names that she is suing & some old wild stuff from this crazy story. The boys are covering the Chavo Guerrero Jr. quote that dropped today about using the Guerrero name to get over and Chavo going after Rey. The boys have some feelings about this, especially KJG. The XPW is back and making noise as someone apparently set themselves on fire this weekend, and for some strange reason the boys talk about getting Snitsky at a wrestling convention to punt fake babies. At this point Matt joins the show and catches up with the boys before a quick break. Back from the break we are talking about AEW booking moments, TNT title, Wardlow, Goldberg and Tony has the picks punishment for Matt & Kevin. They also ponder if a wrestlers hair is the same all over the body. We roll out a new segment called Nailed it or Failed it, where we can a particular wrestler/wrestlers & talk about there call up, or change of promotion and if they Nailed it or Failed it. We talk Street Profits, Enzo/Cass, X Pac, Marc Mero & Raven. It's the go-home show for the first ever WCW Mayhem PPV and The Panel only gets to see one of the four WCW World Title Tournament finalist on Thunder: Chris Benoit. Chavo Guerrero Jr.'s out there on that #hustlelife grind, Disco Inferno's in deep with his gambling debt, the feud between The Filthy Animals and The Revolution continues to escalate, and Curt Henning continues to outsmart the Powers That Be in their quest to fire Henning for being old. The bromance is over between Sid Vicious and the DFG Rick Steiner as these two former buddies seek revenge all throughout the arena. Chavo Guerrero Jr. earned a big opportunity last week and The Panel gets to see what exactly that opportunity was. The Misfits have arrived in WCW and Jerry Only cuts a promo this week. Curt Henning must avoid early retirement yet again. La Parka speaks and, again, it's low-brow even for 1999. Follow us on Instagram @GetItAgainPodcast Got 2 (or more) words for us? Kris & David are back with yet another episode of Between the Sheets, a Patreon request submitted by Allan Paisner who wanted us to do the week that was August 24-30, 1994. We are also joined by one of our favorite guests, Joe Gagne (@JoeGagne), which is always a treat. We start off talking about WCW and one of the most watched wrestling matches in cable TV history, as Hulk Hogan faced off against Ric Flair at the Clash of the Champions in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We talk about the pre-match angle featuring Hulk Hogan getting his Nancy Kerrigan moment, as well as all the other hullabaloo surrounding that, plus the rest of the card, which was a helluva show all together. We also talk about the state of WCW at that time, as Hogan's power is growing fast and furious thanks to his business success, as well as the other WCW issues of the day.We then go to Japan talking about everything there, especially FMW, WAR, & AJW having major shows doing great business, before going to Mexico, where AAA is doing big things and CMLL debuts in Houston, Texas. We come back to the U.S. and go to ECW, where Shane Douglas threw down the NWA World Heavyweight Title belt after winning it in a tournament at the ECW Arena, proclaiming himself the new ECW WORLD Heavyweight Champion as Eastern Championship Wrestling became Extreme Championship Wrestling. We also have a big possible narrative shift taking place regarding this whole thing too, particularly how much of it was a double cross in the moment compared to later that week on TV. Then we talk about SMW, USWA, GWF, and other promotions, including some fun clips from SMW.We close with the WWF, where we go in depth talking about SummerSlam '94, featuring one amazing match, a terrible main event, and other assorted matches including Walter Payton having a blast with Razor Ramon. We also talk about Shawn Michaels & Diesel winning the tag titles the night before the PPV and having a great morning in NYC on Regis & Kathie Lee before flying back to the midwest for the big show, among all other SummerSlam fallout. This was a pretty great, slam-packed show, so you'd better listen!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WCW2:19:15 Eastern Hemisphere: AJPW, NJPW, FMW, Michinoku Pro, WAR, AJW, and Maharaj Promotions2:52:19 Classic Commercial Break2:56:30 Halftime3:25:07 Mexico: AAA, CMLL, Chavo Guerrero Jr. in Juarez, & UWA3:42:29 ECW4:48:37 Other USA: WCPW, SMW, CWA (IN), USWA, & GWF5:19:34 WWFTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron.
