Big Idea: Growing your relationship with Jesus will also grow every other relationship. 1 Corinthians 7:1-9I. Sex can't take the place of Jesus 1 Corinthians 7:1-2Now in response to the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because sexual immorality is so common, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman should have sexual relations with her own husband.II. A spouse can't replace Jesus1 Corinthians 7:3-5A husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise a wife to her husband. A wife does not have the right over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband does not have the right over his own body, but his wife does. Do not deprive one another—except when you agree for a time, to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again; otherwise, Satan may tempt you because of your lack of self-control.III. Singleness is a gift from Jesus1 Corinthians 7:6-7I say this as a concession, not as a command. I wish that all people were as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one person has this gift, another has that.IV. Self-control is only possible through Jesus 1 Corinthians 7:8-9I say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am. But if they do not have self-control, they should marry, since it is better to marry than to burn with desire.Next Steps: Believe: I surrender my life to Jesus today.Become: I surrender my relationships to Jesus today.Be Sent: I will help someone develop a relationship with Jesus this week. Discussion Questions: What is your most important relationship right now? Why? Do your most important relationships always come easily? Has Jesus ever radically changed one of your relationships? If so, explain.Do you view single people as missing something in their lives? If singleness is a gift from God, can marriage also be a gift from God?Where do you need relationship self-control today?Surrender control of all your relationships to the Holy Spirit this week
Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso, presented by our friends at Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. It's rivalry weekend in MLS, and it's kind of fitting that Atlanta hosts Philadelphia on Saturday night. Not sure if the league truly sees it as a rivalry, but it's felt that way on the field over the past few years. Philly won 3-0 earlier this season and Atlanta will be trying to build on their draw in Austin from Wednesday night. Philly came back to win 3-2 on a late goal from Tai Baribo against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday. Georgia HS state champions have been crowned the and the season will come to a close tonight in Duluth and in Macon. It's the 2A state championships in Macon, our friend Matteen Rad will be on the call for the NFHS Network there as Drew Charter's boys face Shaw while Pike County's girls play Savannah Arts. Madison Crews and I will be in Duluth for 5A as Roswell's girls try to finish the season unbeaten as they play Northgate while Sprayberry's boys try to knock off top ranked River Ridge. Join us on the NFHS Network starting at 5pm.Barcelona won their 28th La Liga title against their rivals Espanyol as Lamine Yamal scored another brilliant goal. It's a treble year for the Blaugrana as they added to their previously won SuperCopa and Copa del Rey. However, it wouldn't be Barcelona if there were stories about financial silliness. They're trying to get the VIP ticket sale completed that somehow allowed them to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor done in order to help their accounts and salary limit for next season. Watch the video as I try to make sense of it all (probably failing to do so). Be on the lookout on our social media accounts (@SoccerDownHere) for clips from Jude Bellingham today as he spoke to FIFA this week about Real Madrid's ambitions for the upcoming Club World Cup. It's a big opportunity for them to start the Xabi Alonso era off right. They're also trying to add CB Dean Huijsen and LB Alvaro Fernandez ahead of the tournament. Inter is trying to add Marseille winger Luis Henrique as well as 3-4 other players for the tournament. They're also trying to win Serie A and the Champions League before that. They host 5th place Lazio this weekend while league leaders Napoli travel to relegation threatened Parma. A win for Napoli combined with a loss for Inter would send the trophy south to Naples. Anything else sees it come down to the final weekend. More in the video and podcast, Morning Espresso will be back on Monday morning to recap the weekend.Have a great weekend y'all!

Big Idea: Now Hiring:1 Corinthians 4:1-13I. Stewards to struggle against prejudice…1 Corinthians 4:1-5A person should think of us in this way: as servants of Christ and managers of the mysteries of God. In this regard, it is required that managers be found faithful. It is of little importance to me that I should be judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I don't even judge myself. For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me. So don't judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.III. …to be slandered for faithful service…1 Corinthians 4:6-7Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying: “Nothing beyond what is written.” The purpose is that none of you will be arrogant, favoring one person over another. For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you didn't receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as if you hadn't received it?III. …and to suffer like the scum of the earth!1 Corinthians 4:8-13You are already full! You are already rich! You have begun to reign as kings without us—and I wish you did reign, so that we could also reign with you! For I think God has displayed us, the apostles, in last place, like men condemned to die: We have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to people. We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored! Up to the present hour we are both hungry and thirsty; we are poorly clothed, roughly treated, homeless; we labor, working with our own hands. When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we respond graciously. Even now, we are like the scum of the earth, like everyone's garbage.Next Steps: Believe: I need Jesus to replace my selfish heart today.Become: Sign me up! I'm willing to suffer as King Jesus did for me.Be Sent: I will be a spectacle to someone far from Jesus this week.Discussion Questions: What is your #1 trait for a great leader? Explain your answer. What resources has God given you stewardship?Give an example of how to display humility without calling attention to yourself. Do you have a weakness that God wants to use for his glory? How did you respond the last time you were mistreated? Is there any reward that would make a life of suffering worthwhile? Explain your answer.Pray for the Holy Spirit to make you a spectacle to someone who needs Jesus this week.
A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by another student Wednesday morning at a high school track meet in Frisco. Authorities were dispatched about 10 a.m. to the David Kuykendall Stadium where the District 11-5A track meet was taking place. In other news, Texas homeschool parents soon could face a choice: $2,000 in taxpayer money or maintain independence from government reach into their children's education; President Donald Trump's new tariffs are here, and North Texas won't be able to hide; Economist Ray Perryman, president and CEO of The Perryman Group said “Texas has more at stake in tariffs than any other state. And consequently, it's an area that's going to be hard hit; and after actors Sydney Sweeney, Glen Powell and John Stamos were spotted dining in Dallas in late March, Tex-Mex restaurant Joe Leo is making the most of it. Three new menu items on Joe Leo's menu are now named for the three famous folks who ordered them. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
What if I told you that the oldest known biotic association of arthropods is a piece of Lebanese amber from the Cretaceous period? At the same time that flowering plants were diversifying, astigmatid mites were finding a very convenient way to get around: on the backs of termites. Can mites and termites be friends? How does one identify a tiny mite specimen without damaging its equally-important host? Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (NIV) 1. Jesus never promised you would not get weary and burdened John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (NIV) 2. Come to Jesus 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (ESV) 3. Allow Jesus to give you rest 3A. Jesus can take away your struggles Philippians 4:6–7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (NKJV) 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (NIV) 4. Stay yoked with Jesus 5. Learn from Jesus 5A. Pick your people Mark 14:32-34 They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. 34 “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.” (NIV) 5B. This week's EYE ON NPI is a Texas-two-steppin' motion controller that takes your 2-axis motion control to the next level: it's ADI/Maxim/Trinamic's TMC5272 Dual-Axis Stepper Motor Controller and Driver IC. We've been checking out many of Trinamic's great stepper motor driver chips lately and this one is the latest generation, with 2 drivers, plus motion control, for advanced usage even on boards that don't need real-time GPIO toggling for steps. Trinamic is definitely not a group that 'rests on their laurels': every year they are coming out with even more improvements to their awesome stepper motor drivers. This chip has 250 pages of datasheet and each page details yet another improvement or setting that will make your mechatronics fast, silent, and efficient. What sets the TMC5272 (https://www.digikey.com/short/0mq250r7) apart? Well, the first big thing is you get double the fun with two full stepper drivers for X and Y axis support. The voltage range is 2-20V, so good for low to medium voltage motors. The tradeoff is you can only get 1.5A max peak current, 1.1A sine wave, but for most users that don't have massive steppers that is perfectly fine. There's also a lot more 'smarts' in this stepper than the ones even from a couple years ago: 8-point motion control, no-loss/no-sense-resistor current management, 2D trajectory management over two axes, encoder or reference switch inputs, sensorless standstill motion detection. Of course all the fixin's you expect from the previous generations are there: silent stepping, UART and SPI and step/dir interface, stallguard, 1 to 256 microstepping, and diagnostic output But, it's in a 3x3mm WLCSP package: this means you'll need at least a 4 layer board and plugged vias. It also means heat dissipation might be more challenging than the drivers with the big ground pads. However, a nice tradeoff is that there is internal 'lossless' current sensing, so no chunky resistors are required. The upside of a WLCSP is that we have lots more pins for tons of interfaces. Each driver can run one bipolar stepper motor, and has multiple interfaces for control. As usual there's the STEP/DIR interface. This is great for usage with older designs that expect to toggle GPIO on each step. However, the S/D pins are shared with some of the cool sensors/encoders/switches. Plus all the really cool things the chip can do are too complex to adjust with just a few GPIO, so to really get the most use you'll need to use one of the packetized interfaces: UART or SPI. UART is great if you happen to only have USB for your computer: you can always just use a USB-serial converter, and the controller can be daisy-chained for multiple drivers per UART. If you have extra GPIO and/or a dedicated SPI port, we would recommend that since it's much faster and you can easily add more chips with one chip-select per. Some of the cool things you can do via the interface include a 8-point ramp controller: instead of stepping each motor and dynamically adjusting the micro-steps for speed/precision, the TMC5272 can do it all on its own. It can also handle knowing 'where' it is on an axis bar, by using the built in homing support. Homing can be done either by using the sensorless 'StallGuard' (https://www.analog.com/en/lp/001/building-better-stepper-motor-system.html) or with reference switches. You can wire the switches directly to the TMC5272 - good if you want to have slow motion homing since you don't have to whack into the end of the axis - and then let the chip manage where it is. Then you can tell it you want to move and when you want to get there, and the TMC will take care of the rest. For ultra-accurate motion control, you can connect an external optical or magnetic encoder to the motor shaft that will tell you exactly when a step has occurred. There's also a neat back-EMF sensor that can tell when the motor has moved while 'disabled' - good to know when you will need to do another homing step after re-enabling the motor. There's also an TMC5272-EVAL-KIT eval board that you can plug-n-play for instant stepper motor usage (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/analog-devices-inc-maxim-integrated/TMC5272-EVAL-KIT/22107596), it works instantly with the TMCL IDE for trying out the various programmable settings (https://www.analog.com/en/resources/evaluation-hardware-and-software/motor-motion-control-software/tmcl-ide.html) and turn the motor via the TMCL IDE which sends UART/SPI commands over their USB driver board, so it's perfect for verifying the performance with your desired motors. If you want double the pleasure, double the fun of double-motor driving, you can pick up the ADI/Maxim/Trinamic's TMC5272 Dual-Axis Stepper Motor Controller and Driver IC (https://www.digikey.com/short/0mq250r7) from DigiKey today - it's in stock & ready to ship immediately! Place your order now & by tomorrow morning you can be step-step-stepping to the most advanced 2-axis motor controller design you've ever seen.

We're rounding the corner with testing our Sparkle Motion (https://www.adafruit.com/product/6100) WLED-compatible board. This time, we're doing the fuse test. we got a lot of requests to include a 5A fuse onboard. Of course, we need to verify that it works as expected. With a chonky 12V 25A power supply and my trusty electronic load, we dial up one amp at a time... note that all PTC fuses have a 'hold' of 5A and a higher trip current of ~2x that, so we actually open at 10A. Once it heats up a bit, that trip current can drop a bit, but it will always be over 5A and under 10A. Good test equipment makes this job nice and easy. The board is complete - time to book it up, just in time for the New Year. This chonky neopixel tube is a treat with full, smooth color all the way around - but it's also a real pain to drive, given it requires 24V power. Or at least it would be if we didn't have this Sparkle Motion (https://www.adafruit.com/product/6100) board we are testing! With USB PD support, it's easy to plug the board into a USB C laptop power supply that can provide 20V at up to 5A - even though it's under 24V, we've found the LEDs are just as bright. Looks great, we're going to keep testing and get these boards ordered, hopefully before the year's end! The Board of Commissioners approved a resolution for this, seeking a November 2025 ballot inclusion. The proposed HOST would allocate 75% of proceeds to reduce property taxes and 25% for capital projects, primarily roads. A 10-year sunset clause is suggested, allowing voters to decide on its continuation. The initiative aims to benefit both residents and visitors, with a quick implementation if approved. Michael Sims, who led the program for 17 years. Ice, also a former Explorer, brings extensive experience and passion to her new role, aiming to maintain high standards while introducing new initiatives. Sims will continue to support the program as Committee Chair, ensuring its continued success. The development, by David Pearson Communities, will feature owner-occupied townhomes with two-car garages, a pool, and a clubhouse. The project includes 2.25 acres of open space for a pedestrian path. Initially proposed at 102 units, the plan was revised to 85 units after density concerns. The development will have a density of 7.97 units per acre, aligning with county standards. Despite some local opposition, the project was seen as a responsible use of the property. STORY 7: Cherokee County School Board Appoints New Chief Academic Officer The Cherokee County school board appointed Joshua Heath as the new chief academic officer on December 12. Heath, who joined the district in July as the executive director for accountability, succeeds the previous officer who retired earlier this year. With 12 years of educational experience, Heath is also a CCSD parent and spouse of a district teacher. During the board's work session, he presented reports on student performance in AP, SAT, and ACT exams, as well as the district's performance on the state's CCRPI. In our WLED design, we want to have two (or maybe three?) DC power inputs, where each can be up to 24V, and supply up to 5A of current into the LED strands. In our typical designs, like the Metro or Feather series, we don't really go above 1A or 2A and 20V. Let's take a look at what is available: we want to have the lowest possible forward drop because, at 5V, we want to have no less than 4.5V going into the LEDs, but we also want to minimize the reverse current which can start to get non-trivial at these capacities. Also, should we go with an 'ideal' diode chip or with a Schottky diode? Episode 232 - we are talking football, Pro, College and PA High School. We talk about the Saquan and The Birds, Penn State and the college football playoffs, PA 6A, 5A and 4A all being dominated by no boundary schools, Biz takes on an Army, and more of the usual fun. We are live as Michigan takes down Ohio State. Enjoy the ride!
While waiting for the turkey to finish brining, we're designing a board for using WLED – and we want to make like the bestest board in the whole world. Our resident mermaid, firepixie, makes a lot of projects with WLED, and she loves it! So, how can we make something that will be powerful but not too bulky? Here are some things we're thinking about as the design starts to congeal like cranberry sauce: Power via USB Type C PD with a slide switch that selects between 5, 12, and 20V (24V pixels can usually run fine at 20V) OR via a 2.1mm DC jack. With ideal diodes, it's good for up to 5A from either. ESP32-Mini module with built-in or optional wFL antenna port. The classic '32 has broad support, even if we'd prefer the ‘S2 or ‘S3. There are three output signal terminal block sets, with power and ground for each. They'll be level-shifted to 5V. Built in I2S microphone (we're still pondering this one). Stemma QT I2C port to connect external sensors/OLEDs/etc.; separate analog/digital input JST port. 1.3″x1.75″ / 33mm x 45mm size with mounting holes. Anything we're missing, anything that's extraneous? ============================ Visit the Adafruit shop online - http://www.adafruit.com ----------------------------------------- LIVE CHAT IS HERE! http://adafru.it/discord Subscribe to Adafruit on YouTube: http://adafru.it/subscribe New tutorials on the Adafruit Learning System: http://learn.adafruit.com/ ----------------------------------------- #wled #led #diy

He's one of just over 30 players who can say he played for the Broncos twice. Corey Nelson grew up in Dallas and was the 5A player of the year in high school as well as a 5-star recruit by Scout.com. He had numerous colleges offering scholarships and chose Oklahoma because of the connection he felt with the linebacker's coach. Corey started playing as a true freshman and gathered accolades as both an athlete and student. His senior season started strong with a pick-6 and a plethora of tackles… until he tore his pec muscle and required surgery. At that point, Corey wasn't sure if he had a future in the NFL, so he picked up more classes and wrapped up his degree in four years. Turns out he did have an NFL future and in 2014, the Broncos drafted him in the 7th round. He worked his way on to the roster through special teams and became a Super Bowl Champion. Then another injury came and the Broncos didn't sign him back in the offseason. Corey then traveled from team to team trying out for any openings. The Broncos brought him back in 2019, but in October that year, another injury put him out for the season and eventually out of the league. These days he's a husband, dad and business owner in Texas. Listen to Corey's story and conversation with @susiewargin on the Cut Traded Fired Retired Podcast. Links to listen on your favorite podcast platforms in the @ctfrpodcast bio!

(1:21:31-1:25:37) – Hour number two concludes with Jimmy and Eddie discussing the statements that Shane Steichen made regarding whether he met with Anthony Richardson or not and if Richardson has been doing everything he should be as an NFL quarterback. (1:25:37-1:49:10) – James Boyd from The Athletic joins Jimmy Cook on Query & Company to provide clarity as to whether he knows when Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard met with Anthony Richardson. James evaluates the likelihood of the Colts utilizing Anthony Richardson in select packages considering his mobility versus Joe Flacco, assesses if the Colts will make any moves prior to next week's trade deadline if they are in fact in a win now mode, and provides an update on the Colts health entering the weekend.
