How do you grow in comics? Bryce Carlson joins us this week to talk about his growth in comics. From starting as an intern to grow into a top executive. Bryce breaks it all down from working with a major motion picture company to creating his own hit series: HIT.
For starters, Jerry, shoes and airports. He's had a good long run.Gene is still trying to get Jerry to do something 'remarkable', like Bryce Carlson, the guy who rowed (yes, in a rowboat) across the Atlantic Ocean in record time. This one's extra good, and extra easy. All Jerry needs to do is pay some Italians to haul his old ass to the top of El Capitan, the beautiful mountain in Yosemite National Park.Jerry has some thoughts about our newest Supreme Court Justice, and the process by which he was appointed. They're not happy thoughts.Music tonight by Harold Hensley. BIg sound for solo artist!http://www.magnaphonerecords.com/harold-hensley/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Megan is 'lost at sea' again this week. Speaking of which we were thrilled to have Bryce Carlson on this week's show.Bryce Carlson recently set the world record for rowing alone unsupported across the North Atlantic Ocean in 38 days (previous record was 53). That's right, he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a row boat, and did it faster than anyone ever has.Jerry will interview him about his momentous feat, since we talked to him via satellite phone when he was at the half way point.Jerry's rant: The senior white house official who wrote the op-ed story in the New York Times titled, "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration."Musical guest: Hickory Robot. In this week's episide, we talk about how previously interviewed Bryce Carlson set the world record for rowing across the Atlantic, and set the record by two weeks over the next fastest. He' going to be on our show soon. Foolish or courageous?Jene asks Jerry to sign an agreement that he will not mock him on the show. Jerry of course refused, as Jene's favorite pasttime is setting himself up for mockery. Jene asks Jerry how he'll survive flying commercial like the rest of us. Jerry doesn't seem to have worked through that yet. And Jerry's Take? Will Trump's lawyers allow him to be interviewed by special prosecutor Robert Mueller? Musical guest: John R. Miller. He's the real deal with his West Virginia roots... https://www.facebook.com/johnrmillerwv/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Bryce Carlson tells SmartHER News about the life lessons he learned rowing, solo, across the the North Atlantic.
Remember our interview with Bryce Carlson rowing across the North Atlantic? He's about to break the record for days it took to cross. Let's advance the story that we were with him spelling him on the oars the whole time. Let's put out a news release and start national TV show interviews before he's even done and can deny our claims in person. The other day my wife comes into Folk School when I'm not here, gets a coffee and puts it on my tab. Problem is, I don't have a tab at Folk School. So the owner, Catfish, a member of the Ludlow city council, puts out a warrant on me. JeezJerry's rant: Did Trump commit treason?Music by Tim Lancaster. The pride of West Virginia does a nice job of offering us a little Americana music. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Rocky is back! We're talking Men's health with Liz Bonis; covering the Urban Meyer situation; what's trending with Rachel; worst ways to get fired; Bryce Carlson from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean
Jene again suggests that Jerry, Megan and he should do something “remarkable” for society together. So he suggests having some guests who can show them the way. The show will soon feature Jerome Pilette, who is riding his bike from Quebec to the tip of Argentina, and Harvey Lewis, who is - as we speak - close to finishing a run of the Appalachian Trail in near-record time. Tonight, via satellite phone from his twenty-foot row boat in the middle of the stormy Atlantic Ocean, we'll talk for a few minutes with Bryce Carlson, a teacher from Cincinnati's Seven Hills School. He is their rowing coach and a former crew member at the University of Michigan. And boy, will he need everything he knows -- He's already lost his sea anchor, flooded his laptop and broke his boat's dagger board in several gales that caused him to capsize.Carlson is about 700 miles from Newfoundland, rowing alone to Penzance, England, trying to become the first American to make the trip. Should he finish in fewer than 55 days, it'd be a world record. Good thing we're stopping him to talk to us, right? Then, Jerry exposes Trump as a mouthpiece for Russian president Vladmir Putin. We will know the "why" one day- What Trump has done is against the security and interests in America.
