Keith and Trevor dig deep into Bucks and Pistons from the Eastern Conference and then head West (or South, as it were) to check in on the new-look Pelicans.
We cover a full 1/6 of the league’s offseasons. First up, Golden State with one of the weirdest offseasons in recent memory. We go through all the scenarios, including keeping Kevin Durant, losing Kevin Durant, sign-and-trading him, and then how to keep their remaining players and build around their two remaining healthy stars. Then, Toronto. What do their options look like with the three main variables of Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green’s free agencies and Marc Gasol’s player option? We look at what the plan could be depending on whether Kawhi stays or not. Houston has been a subject of major turmoil, so we assess whether it makes sense to move one of their five core pieces or try to solidify around them for a run in a wide open West. Then some news, as we hit on the Bucks/Pistons trade of the number 30 pick and Tony Snell for Jon Leuer among other items. The Wizards have about $30 million to work with below the tax, but only have 6 healthy players for next year so far. How can they fill out the rest of their roster? Finally, we look at Atlanta’s options for their remaining $14m in cap space after their bevy of moves already this offseason. With host Nate Duncan (@NateDuncanNBA) and Danny Leroux (@DannyLeroux). We continue our in-season analysis. We share thoughts on the Eric Bledsoe trade and what might happen with Greg Monroe. We hand out our weekly awards and then get into team by team analysis. Why are the Bucks just a .500 team even though they have the most efficient offensive player in the league so far this season? What are the Pistons doing that is so fundamentally different from what they were doing last season? Are the Knicks doing sustainable things? Are the Hawks this bad? Are the Bulls doing right by Lauri Markannen? Is Brad Stephens into voodoo? What are the Wizards trying to be? Where did the Heat hunger go? Does it still exist? Then in our guest segment with Nat Kitaw we talk about positional gravity. Do big men that can shoot from three point range have more gravity than gaurds? The what to make of the Sixers roster decision as the date on which a Robert Covington renegotiation and extension can happen nears? All of this and more.
