This week, Mike Steph gives his "Salty Thoughts" on the following: The NBA playoffs are in full swing. The Ny Knicks lead the Cleveland Cavs 3-1 in the first round of the eastern conference playoffs behind a spectacular 29pt performance from Jalen Brunson and a career high 26pt game from the resurrgant RJ Barrett. Meanwhile Donovan Mitchell and the rest of the Cleveland Cavs have come up small and are now on the verge of elimination. Mike Steph gets you up to speed on this first round matchup. The Golden State Warriors have rallied from an 0-2 deficit to tie the series with the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the western conference playoffs due to a 36pt outburst by the one and only Steph Curry. Will the Kings be able to recapture their momentum from earlier in the series? Has the Warriors championship pedigree finally taken control of this series? Also included are thoughts on the other matchups in the first round of the playoffs: Heat-Bucks, Celtics-Hawks, Sixers-Nets, Suns-Clippers, Nuggets-Twolves, Lakers-Grizzlies All that and more! In this episode, we draft each playoff series from most intriguing to least. Spoilers: Plenty more Kings/Warriors and Suns/Clippers talk than Celtics/Hawks and Sixers/Nets.
Hour 1: Boomer was very impressed with the Rangers win over the Devils last night. He said it was very satisfying as everything seems to be working. Gio said you have to be super confident at this point that you're moving on if you're a Rangers fan. The Islanders have their first home playoff game at UBS tonight. Boomer said Spike came into his office to tell him the Knicks are done and will lose this series. Spike comes into the studio to defend himself, but it turns out, he did go into Boomer's office to say the Knicks are done. Gio has never seen Boomer more confident in his Rangers team than right now. Peter Schwartz is in for Jerry but first we talk about Earth Day and what's your ‘one thing'. Peter is going to the Islanders game tonight using a press pass. Pete Alonso hit a HR in San Francisco in the Mets win. Max Scherzer got a 10 game suspension. The Yankees beat the Angels and Jose Trevino had a bases-clearing double early. The Rangers beat the Devils 5-1 and now lead the series 2-0. We also talked about Max Scherzer's suspension for sticky stuff. Boomer has a theory on what Scherzer did to get the suspension. The alcohol and rosin is what caused the sticky stuff. In the final segment of the hour, Joel Embiid kicked Nic Claxton in the groin during last night's Sixers/Nets game. He was not thrown out of the game, most likely because it was the first quarter of a playoff game. Later in the game, James Harden got thrown out for something far less egregious, trying to push off Royce O'Neale and making contact with the groin. This seemed to be a clear make up call from Embiid earlier. Hour 2: Max Scherzer has been suspended 10 games by MLB. Boomer said the issue was he used alcohol to wash his hands and when you combine alcohol and rosin it becomes very sticky. Scherzer also thought he was done being checked, but he was checked a third time and that's where the problem was. Scherzer's tenure here has not been good. Gio is not impressed with what he's seen so far. Peter returned for an update and we talked about his size. His combined height and weight. We also talked about his son who is a long snapper. The Rangers beat the Devils 5-1 and take a 2-0 series lead heading to MSG. Tom Brady was asked about the Dolphins and he gave a weird answer. In the final segment of the hour, there is a fake Gregg Giannotti on Facebook trying to get people to join some type of fake contest. It is not him and it has been reported. A caller thanks Boomer for a kind gesture he did for him 24 years ago today. Hour 3: First it was Craig Carton and now it's Tiki Barber saying there are rumblings of Aaron Rodgers going to the 49'ers. Boomer is sticking to what he's been saying for months now, that Aaron Rodgers will be on the Jets. Peter returns for an update but fist Gio gives us an update on the dog he wanted to adopt. It went through and they got him, so everybody is happy. Gio wanted Peter to give us his Aaron Rodgers trade take that he had when he hosted overnights the other day. The Rangers beat the Devils again taking a commanding 2-0 series lead. The Mets beat the Giants in San Francisco to open up that series. Gio said the Giants fan base must be livid based on their offseason and start to the season. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls about movie spoilers and a James Dolan sighting at the Garden. Hour 4: Our Program Director Spike Eskin made AI generated pics of himself as a hot OnlyFans model. Tiki Barber is in the studio to talk about his Aaron Rodgers' take that the 49'ers are in the mix. He ultimately believes Rodgers will be on the Jets. We also talked about the various marathons he's run. We also talked about Saquon Barkley and the Giants and how RBs just don't make that kind of money anymore. Peter returns for an update and for some reason Gio and Peter Schwartz sing ‘Tomorrow' from Annie. Peter doesn't want to play kickball because he thinks he's so good the ball will go too far. The Rangers beat the Devils last night to take a 2-0 series lead. Pete Alonso hit another HR, his ninth of the season. The Yankees beat the Angels and Anthony Rizzo is happy the shift is gone. The Nets lost again and are now down 0-3 in the series against the Sixers. There were multiple groin shots last night in the game resulting in James Harden getting ejected. We also talked about NFL players not wearing cups. Boomer didn't wear one and Tiki didn't wear one. In the final segment of the week, we kick off the weekend with some feel good Friday calls about the playoff weekend for the locals.

Draymond Green: what an absolute, dead-set goose... The show opens with the guys thoughts on another Phillies loss, this time in Cincinnati to the Reds (0:05-17:23). Should the first 3 picks of the Eagles draft all be defense? (17:23-39:06). The Sixers are hugely favored against the Brooklyn Nets (39:06-1:00:21). The Phillies have an early season hole to dig themselves out of (1:00:21-1:26:17). Something about Rob Thomson annoyed Pat yesterday (1:26:17-1:48:01). Jamie Lynch's NFL Mock Draft 4.0 (1:48:01-2:11:44). Did Adam Schefter tip the Eagles' draft plans off? (2:11:44-2:39:11).
