We're doing it folks. We've finally read one of the bugbears in the MMM canon: 'Castaway in Dimension Z' aka the first ten issues of Rick Remender's 2012 "Captain America" run. We do a recap on all things Remender, JRJR, and Cap once more before talking about this very divisive arc. Will Elias admit it's not as good as he thought it was? Will Jaina find more worth in it (and in the art?) Listen on, true believers! And for a bit of a fun time capsule, read Elias' review off issue #1 from our "Now That's What I Call Marvel" 2020 spectacular.Next time, it's time for "The End." Which end? A lot of them, apparently.
Last year, Jaina and Elias once again attempted to become a precog and figure out what Marvel was going to get up to in 2023. 10 items each. 11 if you count the Secret Invasion holdover. 10 chances to find out who would win and subject the other to a comic with art they think is bad, bad, bad. Elias is competing to make them read "Major X," the "modern" Liefeld return to Marvel that was, uh, very, very odd. Jaina wants Elias to reevaluate his love of 'Castaway in Dimension Z,' the first arc of Rick Remender's 2012 "Captain America" run with art by John Romita Jr.They were shocked by how much they got right and unsurprised by how much they got wrong. But who won? Well, that would ruin the fun of listening if I told you now, wouldn't it?Next time, we thwip our way through the original 'Spider-verse' as the countdown to the end commences. If you want to read along, we're reading "Superior Spider-Man" #32-33, "Edge of Spider-Verse" (Vol. 1) #1-5 and "Amazing Spider-Man" (2014) #7-15. For completeness's sake, we'll also read "Spider-Verse" #1-2, "Spider-Verse Team-Up" #1-3, and if you really wanna roll deep "Scarlet Spiders" #1-3, "Spider Woman" (2014) #1-4, "Spider-Man 2099" (2014) #6-8, and "Free Comic Book Day: Guardians of the Galaxy" (2014) #1. Don't ask for a reading order. It's all kind of a mess.Shout off in the comment section below and get the conversation started or share them on the burning hell site formerly known as Twitter using the hashtag #MakeMineMultiversity. Maybe skeet it on BlueSky! Or toot it on Mastodon. Or do something EXTRA funky over on Tumblr. We're exploring our options.
We want our Cap TV! Leia and Josh take special guest Michael Garrity through one of the strangest Captain America stories on Leia's shelf - Captain America: Castaway in Dimension Z! We like this comic like we like our orange juice - brimming with pulp!

2023 is here and that means it's time for Elias and Jaina to litigate their 2022 predictions for Marvel. Who will win? Will there be another tie? And how disappointed with this make them? Oh, and we announced what the stakes are for our 2023 predictions. If Elias wins, we're forced to read "Major X" by Rob Liefeld and if Jaina wins, we'll be forced to read the "Captain America" arc 'Castaway in Dimension Z' by Rick Remender & John Romita Jr.Next time, however, we've got more Eternals in a VERY weird set of books: "Heroes for Hire" (Vol. 1) #4-7 (from November 1997 - January 1998) and "The New Eternals: Apocalypse Now" (also known as Eternals: The New Breed) #1 (from February 2000.) You can find these issues collected in "Eternals: The Complete Saga Omnibus" and "Luke Cage, Iron Fist & the Heroes For Hire Vol. 1." It may be easier to read on Marvel Unlimited though, if that is something you have access too. The episode should be accessible even if you don't read the issues!

In this episode:Mike and Ed discuss a newly discovered dimension that exists alongside ours. This dimension has had the technology to observe us for thousands of years, and yet they do not yet have the secrets of atomic power. How rare is an understanding of atomic nuclear power among aliens and other-dimensional beings? Did humans advance in technology in some unusual way? Was it the discovery of atomic power that is causing all of these attacks on our planet? And is atomic power also why we are seeing so many super-powered people appear in such a short timeframe? Also, we welcome to the scene Giant-Man and take bets on which super hero team he will join.In this issue:Hank Pym decides to use his size formula in the opposite direction, and grow rather than shrink, becoming Giant-Man in the process. Meanwhile, the police are on the hunt for the Eraser, who is apparently erasing people from existence. The Eraser erases Hank Pym, who is actually transported to Dimension Z. It turns out the Eraser has been “erasing”, or transporting, human scientists to Dimension Z so that they can develop atomic power for them. Fortunately for Hank, the Wasp had shrunken and was “erased” with Hank too, unbeknownst to the Eraser. She helps free Hank, and the two of them free the scientists and bring them to Earth.Assumed before the next episode:People have not learned about Dimension Z, although they are grateful that their scientists are back. They're also wondering about this new hero Giant-Man.This episode takes place:After the scientists have been safely returned to Earth. This is a public episode. We talk with our minds on the internet...seee...we really see people like it says we don't talk in heaven right?? people are you still with me? Well Heaven and Hell are colliding right before our eyes WWIII started ever since the internet was introduced. I remember it well in the early 2000s it was great until they found that we eventually have gotten smart enough to the point in time, 2020, this security breach over ourselves from ourselves would sweep the internet causing a lot of confusion on what is security and these big corporations controlling our secured information on a cloud service that we will not be able to get a hold of ,the knowledge that is being taken. Higher intelligence in the shadows, just studying every single human being through every organization. Well it could have been made public in the late 1800s. These are kept secret though. Look at our weapon though and it's not lethal. The MR, XR (4th dimension) can extend us into after cloud computing is taken down the road, teleporting humans, by bits and pieces, through to the fourth. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Melody and Rachel host their last episode of 2019, discussing comic books as well as superhero-centric shows and movies. Rachel takes over the reins as Melody moves on: here's hoping things don't go totally off the rails! Check out what we talked about: "The Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes & Nocturnes" by Neil Gaiman with readalike "The Sandman Vol. 2: The Doll’s House" by the same author. Also, the BBC Radio full-cast dramatization of "Neverwhere" based on the book by Neil Gaiman. The comic book series "Preacher" by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon with readalikes "Hellblazer" by Jamie Delano and "Lucifer" by Mike Carey. Also, the AMC show "Preacher" and the FX show "Legion." (Rachel would also like to note that she misspoke during the recording: the character John Constantine was originally created by Alan Moore, not Neil Gaiman.) "Captain America Vol. 1: Castaway in Dimension Z" by Rick Remender and John Romita, Jr. with readalikes "Captain America Vol. 2: Castaway in Dimension Z" by the same team as well as "New Avengers: Everything Dies" by Jonathan Hickman. 2019 films "Joker" and "Avengers: Endgame" as well as Amazon Prime show "The Boys." Better late then never? After taking Tony Stank's advice, I've decide to stop stockpiling episodes. And speaking of Kel Conley, we start this episode off talking wrasslin! We review AEW and WWE as companies, as well as their current PPVs. From there we jump headfirst into Punisher: War Machine, and of course we pitch our Punisher movie as well as a Black Captain America/Bucky Barnes buddy cop movie. And we thought we wouldn't have enough time to do it, but Kel said do it, but we even squeaked in a Captain America TPB review! In which the Off-Panelists make it rain! Following a lengthy string of two-manned episodes, the terrible trio returns to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting listenership, as the Southerner leads the Scotsman and the Sloth in a recap of an eventful week in both the world of comics and their personal lives. Following their reactions to the new X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer, a brief early review of Thor: The Dark World from the release abroad, and impressions of Batman: Arkham Origins from the resident Bat-expert, the three dive into the week's books and recount yet another Saga-edition of Brian K. Vaughn's Saga, the long-awaited return of Neil Gaimain's opus in Sandman Overture, vengeance in the courtroom with the finale of The Punisher: Trial of the Punisher, and even a second review of an Image Comics release from last week, Pretty Deadly. Better late then never? After taking Tony Stank's advice, I've decide to stop stockpiling episodes. And speaking of Kel Conley, we start this episode off talking wrasslin! We review AEW and WWE as companies, as well as their current PPVs. From there we jump headfirst into Punisher: War Machine, and of course we pitch our Punisher movie as well as a Black Captain America/Bucky Barnes buddy cop movie. And we thought we wouldn't have enough time to do it, but Kel said do it, but we even squeaked in a Captain America TPB review!
