Morning sermon from 29th April 2026. Preacher Tom Cox
This message centers on Pilate's question—“Which Jesus do you want?”—challenging us to examine the versions of Jesus we often create to fit our own desires, whether for power, success, comfort, or control. It reveals how, like the crowd, we can be influenced by self-interest and distorted faith, yet reminds us of the stunning truth: Jesus took our place in a great exchange of love, dying for us while we were still sinners and rising again so we could live transformed. In response, we're invited to trust the real Jesus, receive His sacrificial love, and follow His way by choosing to love others beyond every divide.

On this episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, hosts Rachael Culpepper and Natalie Ambrose invite families to prepare their hearts for the joy of Easter by reflecting on the powerful story at the center of the Christian faith. Together, they discuss the journey of Holy Week—from Jesus' suffering and sacrifice to the glorious victory of His resurrection—and the deep reason Christians call Good Friday "good." Because through Christ's finished work on the Cross, the chasm between humanity and God has been bridged and the promise of eternal life has been secured. Listeners will also hear a meaningful Raising Godly Girls Minute from Patti Garibay that challenges families to live in "Easter joy" all year long. Rather than letting the celebration end with the holiday weekend, Patti encourages parents to intentionally revisit the joy of Christ's resurrection throughout the year—perhaps even letting your daughter plan a surprise Easter celebration when the family least expects it. Rachael and Natalie also share several creative, faith-filled ideas for celebrating Easter with your daughter. From a playful "Jesus search" that points to the empty tomb, to beginning your family meal with a hymn of praise, to writing a gratitude poem to God together, these simple traditions can help anchor your celebration in the true meaning of the season. As families gather this Easter, this episode reminds listeners that the resurrection is not only a moment in history—it is the living hope that shapes how we worship, celebrate, and raise our daughters in faith every day of the year. Three Things to Consider: Turn the Easter egg hunt into a "Jesus search." Celebrate in song. Express gratitude to God together. This week we focus on the holiness of God, the problem of sin, Jesus' fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies, and the significance of belief and repentance. The message emphasizes that despite past disobedience, anyone can say yes to God and be accepted, illustrated through the parable of the two sons and the story of the criminals crucified with Jesus.

04/20/25 Easter Celebration - Sermon Only:"The Transformative Power of Jesus' Resurrection"John 20:1-18Senior Pastor, Stephen StreettMisty Creek Community Church
Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ” portrayed the death of Christ in one of the most accurate ways ever seen by man, except for those who saw it firsthand. I saw the movie once. I have never seen it again. It is one thing to imagine the death of Christ; it is altogether different to see it portrayed in such a realistic way. In our Good Friday services, we will look at another portrayal of Christ’s suffering in Isaiah 53. Isaiah describes the suffering of Christ with detail and perfection, but unlike Mel Gibson, he pens his description over 700 years in advance of it actually happening. Only God can talk about future events as if they were yesterday’s news. Then in our Easter Celebration services, we will turn our attention to another resurrection in Scripture. A resurrection that anticipates the resurrection of Christ and our own resurrection. A resurrection in which Christ’s claim is tested and gives us proof-positive that He is the resurrection and the life! Only in Christ can we find hope for the future and life for today. I pray that you will join us for all our Easter weekend activities. Make the decision now to attend and invite a friend. Is the Empty Tomb a fictional story or a historic event? Is there evidence that Jesus rose from the grave, and if so, what difference does it make in our lives? Come investigate the evidence, experience the joy, and check out the Forgiveness opened to everyone at the empty tomb at Easter.
Quote of The Day: Jesus taught his disciples to ‘always pray and not give up' (v.1). You can talk to God not just in church or in set times of prayer, but anywhere and at anytime. I was taught very early in my Christian life to ‘talk as you walk' through the day. Never give up praying and pray hardest when it is hardest to pray. Host: TOLA Omoniyi
