From 'Rico Brogna' (subscribe here): The deeper game 7 of the NLCS went, the more nail biting it got for the fans. Specifically the 5th inning when Oliver Perez got into a jam, did we think it was time for Willie Randolph to get to the bullpen. Things didn't go as planned, but we did witness one of the most incredible post season plays of all time.Game 7 NLCS 2006 rewatch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRuQ0JvxS4YFor comments, questions or topic ideas email TheRicoB@gmail.com To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. 2-7-2023 Passed Ball Show. John opens up this show by wondering where was going to go with his Kyrie Irving trade take- not wanting to be repetitive. Among points John was able to make include 1. Kevin Durant (when healthy) has a chance to finally lead his own team. 2. 50/50 chance this deal works for Dallas/ it totally blows up in their face and why. 3. The Nets are NOT to blame for Kyrie not working out. Among the TDSH topics include John L. Sullivan, Joe DiMaggio, Nap Lajoie, Frank Robinson, Steve Nash, Endy Chavez, and why Dan Quisenberry belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
National League Town pencils in Endy Chavez, Edgardo Alfonzo and Eddie Kranepool for our final pre-Old Timers Day celebration because we'll never erase the indelible memories each of these three E-Mets provided. In the present, Greg and Jeff rationalize the bumpy road trip through Atlanta, Philadelphia and the Bronx as more or less just one of those things even a first-place team encounters (though it would be nice if a catcher would hit sometimes). Finally, when a bedroom wall needs painting, we learn what happens to the Captain of all Fatheads.

The big news in Kansas City wasn't another Royals acquisition but rather the Chiefs signing Andy Reid to be their next head coach. We briefly covered the biggest local story of the day before moving on to the Royals latest moves. We talked about the minor league free agent signings of the last week, including Miguel Tejada and Endy Chavez and our listener question this week dealt with those kinds of deals as well which allowed us to talk a bit about Dayton Moore, intangibles and the Royals approach to building a roster. Then we brought on Chris Kamler to talk about what's new in his world and to talk about a big pre-spring training event at the Screenland Armour in North Kansas City on February 10th at 4 p.m. We're looking forward to helping out with the event and seeing everyone out to watch a screening of Major League and to take part in other trivia and shenanigans.
