Cleveland Guardians at Texas Rangers by Tony T. The Pick: Cleveland is batting .218 against right-handed starters with a .366 slugging percentage. Rangers bat .218 at home with a .350 slugging percentage. Cantillo in his five-day games has an ERA of 2.39. deGrom at home carries an ERA of 1.52. Guardians' bullpen performs well at home with the Rangers pen good at home. Texas is 20-9-2 to the under at home. Cleveland is 8-4 to the under on the road facing a team with a bullpen WHIP of 1.35 or lower. Play Cleveland and Texas under 7.5.
Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Monday. It is June 1, 2026, and Munaf Manji and Uncle Diamond Dave Essler are back at the start of a new month with the full MLB Monday slate on the table and a perfect 2-0 best bet record from Thursday to carry into the week. The guys open with a quick but meaningful conversation about handicapping discipline, with Munaf explaining why he took Sunday off from posting plays rather than force something that was not there, and Dave backing the decision by making the case that this kind of restraint is exactly what winning long-term looks like and what clients are actually paying for when they subscribe. From there the full card gets the full treatment. Detroit heads to Tampa Bay with Ty Madden activated off the injured list to start or handle a bulk role against Griffin Jax, who has reinvented himself as a legitimate starter for the Rays with a 1.42 ERA in his recent stretch, and both hosts weigh a fade of the IL return against the case for the Tigers plus one and a half on the run line in a game the total projects for around eight. The Marlins take Sandy Alcántara to Washington, where Cade Cavalli gets the ball for the Nationals and both bullpens are identified as over-pushing threats in a park that has hit the over at nearly 68 percent in home games this season, leading Dave to his best bet of the episode, the Marlins team total over three and a half. In Milwaukee, Landen Roupp faces an opener-led Brewers lineup with Shane Drohan starting and Chad Patrick handling the bulk of the workload, and both hosts land on the under and the Giants run line in a low-total game where paying a big price on a three-inning pitcher does not make sense. David Sandlin faces the same Minnesota Twins club he dominated in his MLB debut five days earlier, retiring 18 straight after a leadoff homer, while Joe Ryan brings a solid recent stretch but a 4.42 home ERA into a spot where the White Sox first-five plus a half run gets the call. Jacob deGrom and Michael McGreevy headline the pitcher's duel of the night in St. Louis, where deGrom's 8.44 career ERA at Busch Stadium and McGreevy's 1.93 home ERA combine with both teams' shaky bullpens to make Munaf's official best bet an easy call: first-five-innings under four at minus-115, take the two starters and get out before the relief corps get involved. Kyle Freeland's ugly season numbers run into Freeland's strong career record against the Angels, while the market has already knocked the price down nearly 20 cents from its opening on José Soriano, with Munaf leaning Rockies plus one and a half and Dave going Angels team total over rather than lay the big number. Chase Burns has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in 2026, and his Cy Young-caliber season continues against Kansas City, where Luinder Avila is being asked to handle a starting role out of the bullpen and the sharp money that moved the price nearly 20 cents makes the Royals plus one and a half a reasonable market-following play. Eduardo Rodríguez is 5-1 with a 2.31 ERA but owns a troubling split against the Dodgers specifically at home in Arizona, where Emmet Sheehan brings the better underlying metrics despite a higher ERA, and both hosts elect patience, watching the early innings for a live entry rather than committing pre-game. The night closes in Seattle with Emerson Hancock against an Austin Warren opener for the Mets, where uncertainty about the Mets bullpen depth earns the game Munaf's official pass of the day and Dave identifies the first-five under as the cleanest available angle. Dave closes with a market call: home favorites went 11-1 on Sunday, and that kind of lopsided result historically corrects itself, making Monday a dog-day card where the plus-money side of the ledger deserves attention. New subscribers can get to pregame.com and use promo code NERD50 to take $50 off the all-access package, bringing the price to $199 through the MLB All-Star break and covering every pick Dave Essler, Munaf Manji, and the full Pregame Pros roster put out in every sport. Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Wednesday. Munaf Manji and Uncle Diamond Dave Essler are back on the Straight Outta Vegas AM feed for a loaded Wednesday baseball card on Cash That Ticket, dated May 27, 2026, with the NBA on pause after the New York Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers out of the Eastern Conference Finals and left no playoff action on the schedule. Six MLB games get the full treatment, game by game, pitcher by pitcher, with best bets locked in at the end of the episode. The guys open with a quick Tuesday recap, noting the Brewers three-star loss after Milwaukee scored five of six runs in the wrong inning and the Yankees rocking chair win where the offense exploded for 24 hits and somewhere around 13 or 14 runs, with Munaf cashing his run line and Dave's first five surviving on the back of that first inning. Oklahoma City beat San Antonio 127 to 114, covered the number, and went over the total, now sitting one win away from back to back NBA Finals appearances. First game up is Tampa Bay at Baltimore, where Stephen Matz gets a bit of long overdue respect from the crew and both men land on the Rays team total over given Trey Gibson's limited major league track record and the uncertainty around his pitch count in what is essentially a spot start. The Angels and Tigers follow, and Munaf delivers Jose Soriano's road splits, which are hard to dismiss at a 1.14 ERA this season on the road and a career 2.86 ERA across 32 road starts. Detroit is one and nine in their last ten and carrying a minus 29 run differential, and the lean is first five Angels with an alternate run line as a bonus. Chicago heads to Pittsburgh for a Jameson Taillon and Bubba Chandler matchup, and Dave makes the contrarian call for the Cubs at plus odds, pointing to Chandler's 99-pitch, five-inning outing last start and a season ERA sitting near five as reasons the Pirates may not be the slam dunk many bettors will assume. Bryce Elder and Connelly Early face off at Fenway in a game the guys expect to produce runs, with Elder's 1.97 road ERA and Early's 4.43 ERA at home pointing toward the Braves team total over as the primary play. Gerrit Cole makes his second start since coming back from Tommy John surgery against Noah Cameron in Kansas City, and Munaf makes a data-driven case for the Yankees team total over four and a half at minus 130 based on Cameron's history against New York, where the Royals lefty has surrendered eleven earned runs and five home runs in fewer than nine career innings against this lineup. Jacob deGrom and Mike Burrows square off in Arlington for a Rangers and Astros matchup that Dave calls as the game total over seven and a half, with Burrows allowing eleven earned runs in his last two starts and deGrom pricing oddly low for a home favorite. The nightcap belongs to Shohei Ohtani on the mound for the Dodgers against Tomoyuki Sugano and Colorado, with Ohtani confirmed to pitch after exiting Tuesday's blowout win as a precaution following a hit by pitch on his right hand. Neither man wants to lay minus 411, and the Rockies first five innings under one and a half at minus 165 is the only angle worth touching at this price. Best bets close the show: Dave goes over seven and a half in Arlington, Munaf goes Yankees team total over four and a half minus 130. Pregame.com listeners can access Munaf's all access picks through the MLB All Star break for one hundred ninety nine dollars using promo code NERD50, which saves fifty dollars off the standard price and delivers forty nine days of every pick in every sport including games of the week, month, and year, with the offer good through June 8. Jacob deGrom experienced some knee discomfort but still hit 99 mph and looked sharp on the mound, giving the Texas Rangers confidence early in the season. With a history that includes multiple injuries and surgeries, Texas is taking a cautious approach by limiting pitch counts and innings as he builds up. The Rangers are prioritizing long-term health over early-season workload, aiming to keep deGrom available deep into the 2026 season. If he can stay on the mound consistently, his impact on the rotation could be a major factor in Texas' success. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Welcome to Episode 150 of Tablesetters, where we continue our division preview series by turning our attention to the American League West heading into the 2026 season. For nearly a decade, the AL West belonged to the Houston Astros. From 2017 through 2024, Houston captured seven full-season division titles and established one of the most sustained competitive runs in modern baseball. That streak finally paused in 2025. The Seattle Mariners broke through with a 90–72 season to capture the division, edging Houston by three games and advancing all the way to the American League Championship Series before falling in seven games. Now Seattle enters 2026 with momentum, elite pitching, and legitimate postseason expectations. But the division remains wide open. Houston still features an experienced core led by Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and Yordan Alvarez, though questions remain about the starting rotation after the departure of Framber Valdez. Texas returns one of the most intriguing pitching staffs in the league behind Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi but must rebound offensively after finishing near the bottom of the league in several categories last year. Meanwhile, the Athletics appear to be emerging from their rebuild with a promising young lineup built around Rookie of the Year Nick Kurtz and shortstop Jacob Wilson, while the Los Angeles Angels continue searching for stability after another difficult season. Several individual players could ultimately determine how the division unfolds. Dominic Canzone's breakout bat could help deepen Seattle's lineup behind Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez. Houston will be watching closely to see whether new arrival Tatsuya Imai can stabilize the rotation. Texas may hinge on the health of Nathan Eovaldi alongside deGrom, while A's pitching outlook could depend heavily on the continued development of Jacob Lopez. For the Angels, the return of Grayson Rodriguez from injury carries significant implications for a rotation that struggled throughout 2025. With Seattle attempting to defend its title and multiple challengers trying to reclaim the division, the AL West once again looks like a race that could remain competitive deep into the season.
The Texas Rangers rotation features Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi, two elite pitchers anchoring the staff as the team heads into MLB Spring Training 2026. Fans and analysts are debating how these aces compare in durability, strikeout ability, and impact on Texas Rangers' chances this season. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Dan Fox and Frank Knight return for Episode 48, the Jacob deGrom episode, to talk baseball struggles, football predictions, and plenty of controversy. With Allen “Action” Jackson absent, the guys still keep it rolling alongside Rich Vassallo. The show kicks off with reminders about the Sports Fellowship Survivor Pool (entries due by Sept. 4 at noon), before diving into baseball's dog days. LeBron James has opted into his Lakers contract, but his agent Rich Paul's statement suggests a desire for a trade, possibly campaigning for Giannis to join the Lakers. This has led to speculation about what the Knicks would offer for LeBron, with one caller even suggesting he become a player/coach. In other news, Aaron Judge hit two homers as the Yankees beat the A's, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. had a home run and a triple. The Mets suffered their most lopsided series defeat in history. As NBA free agency begins, LeBron's future is a hot topic, while callers debated the Mets bringing back Syndergaard and deGrom, and if LeBron would force Bronny on the Knicks if he joined.
Hour 1 The Mets suffered a devastating sweep by the Pirates, prompting Boomer to remark on the team's poor performance and the ineffectiveness of a players-only meeting and Carlos Mendoza's ejection. Given the high payroll and dismal run production, Boomer stressed the need for accountability, while Jerry's update highlighted the Mets' struggles and included sound bites from Mendoza, Lindor, and Frankie Montas, alongside news of the Yankees' victory over the A's. Separately, the Knicks are reportedly considering Dawn Staley as a head coach, a prospect Gio dismissed as unlikely, and Malik Beasley is under federal investigation for unusual betting activity in the 2023-24 season. Hour 2 LeBron James has opted into his Lakers contract, but his agent Rich Paul's statement suggests a desire for a trade, possibly campaigning for Giannis to join the Lakers. Both discussed their weekend family entertainment, with Gio attending a dance recital and Boomer's grandchildren seeing the Wiggles. Jerry's update focused on the Mets' continued losses to the Pirates, prompting Steve Cohen to post about the team's state on X, while the Yankees easily defeated the A's with a Cody Bellinger homer. The segment concluded with a discussion of Tom Brady dancing with Sydney Sweeney at a wedding and Gio's dissatisfaction with a thank you from a makeup artist he helped on Fire Island. Former MLB Pitcher Josh Towers and Scott Seidenberg break down the MLB slate of games for Memorial Day This special Memorial Day episode of The Inside Pitch features Scott Seidenberg and former MLB pitcher Josh Towers providing a comprehensive breakdown of the upcoming Monday baseball slate. The podcast focuses on travel dynamics, pitcher performances, betting angles, and how team momentum and logistics influence game outcomes. Central to the discussion is the “Sunday Night Fade”—a strategy of betting against teams that play Sunday night games and must travel before playing again on Monday. Scott cites a 6-1 record with this approach, spotlighting the Dodgers' travel from New York to Cleveland. Josh outlines how travel delays, postgame treatment, and media responsibilities—especially for players like Shohei Otani—can exhaust players, making them vulnerable in early Monday games. Josh and Scott discuss Otani's homer against Kodai Senga, noting it was the first Senga allowed since Opening Day. They analyze the Dodgers-Guardians matchup: Gavin Williams has a strong home record (3-1, 3.40 ERA), but struggles at night (5.09 ERA), while Yamamoto has a 1.00 ERA overall and has not yet pitched in a day game. Despite Yamamoto's strength, Josh is cautious, citing fatigue from travel as a factor. In Mets vs. White Sox, the Mets are favored. Hauser is unreliable (5.00 ERA in the minors), and the White Sox are 5-21 on the road. Clay Holmes has been strong for the Mets but is nearing workload limits. The duo leans Mets on the run line. Tarek Skubal's dominant performance (13 Ks in a 9-inning shutout) leads into Tigers-Giants. Keiter Montero's poor control (13 BB in 30 IP) makes backing the Giants appealing despite Hayden Birdsong's inexperience. Red Sox-Brewers is another key game. Boston's offense has faltered without Bregman, while Crochet has been elite. Chad Patrick has been solid at home. Josh and Scott prefer a first-five under wager, given offensive struggles. Cubs vs. Rockies is heavily skewed toward the Cubs, with Palmquist's disastrous starts (9 ER in 8 IP, 7 BB) making a run-line play likely. Eric Fedde (Cardinals) is steady, while Charlie Morton (Orioles) has had a volatile season. Despite recent rebound, Morton's early performances were poor, and the line favoring Baltimore is puzzling. In Rangers vs. Blue Jays, both deGrom and Gausman are top-tier arms. Toronto has scored just two runs in three games, and Texas' offense is struggling. Josh and Scott prefer the under, particularly a no-run first inning (Nerf-y) play. Royals vs. Reds also presents a Nerf-y opportunity: Lorenzen is 10-0 to the Nerf-y, and Chris Booback has a 1.45 ERA with 70 Ks in 68 innings. In Rays vs. Twins, Josh praises Tampa's momentum, especially with lineup depth like Chandler Simpson batting seventh. Paddock's 5.19 road ERA and vulnerability in early innings make Tampa appealing. However, Scott warns of fading the Rays later due to a back-loaded road-heavy schedule. Pirates-Diamondbacks features Heaney (8-2 Nerf-y) vs. Ryan Nelson, whose inconsistency and starter-reliever toggling limit trust. Another Nerf-y opportunity is noted. Padres-Marlins showcases Vasquez's steady performances against Weathers, who's shown flashes but is prone to walks and home runs. Yankees vs. Angels sees Yarbrough returning to form, while Kocanowicz has erratic command (20+ walks in 5 starts). Josh recommends betting Yankees and possibly on Kocanowicz's walk prop. The discussion shifts to the mound in Sacramento. Zach Wheeler complained about mound hardness affecting pitch delivery. Scott theorizes high elevation in pitches might stem from poor footing. Josh stresses that pros must adjust, though he criticizes coaches like Minnesota's, who lack firsthand pitching experience and can't offer adjustment strategies. The show ends with a promo code "DAY20" for 20% off at pregame.com and a reminder to enjoy the holiday with plenty of daytime baseball and solid betting opportunities. Former MLB Pitcher Josh Towers and Scott Seidenberg discuss the latest around Major League Baseball. Juan Soto's struggles, the Dodgers slump and futures bets to make right now! In this episode, Scott Seidenberg and Josh Towers dissect a range of MLB storylines, with a heavy focus on Juan Soto's troubled transition to the Mets. Soto's recent on-field behavior—particularly his lack of hustle on a hit off the Green Monster and only securing one hit across three games against the Yankees—sparked criticism. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza announced plans to speak with Soto about his effort. Towers emphasized how professional athletes are expected to hustle regardless of performance, especially when part of a new organization. He critiqued Soto's declining stats (.246 average in 2025, subpar defense) and called out the media narrative that built him up unrealistically since his 2020 breakout. He believes the $765 million valuation raised unsustainable expectations. Michael Kay, based on conversations with Mets and Yankees insiders, claimed Soto appears “glum” and without joy. Soto reportedly preferred to remain a Yankee, but his family urged him to accept the Mets' offer. Towers, who played for both franchises, praised the Yankees for their professionalism and structure, saying it fosters respect and accountability. In contrast, he noted that the Mets, while improving, still lack the Yankees' foundational stability. Scott and Josh then evaluated the NL East race. Seidenberg endorsed betting on the Phillies to win the division at +130, noting their strong veteran core (Harper, Schwarber, Wheeler) and manager Dave Dombrowski's history of bold moves. Josh echoed this but pointed out the Phillies' need for young talent infusion, something they've lacked in recent years. They also discussed the Braves' resurgence, who started 0-8 but have since gone 24-15, with key players like Max Fried returning. Shifting to the Dodgers, both hosts criticized Dave Roberts' pitching management. The team's constant injuries and overuse of bullpen arms have led to four consecutive home losses. Towers questioned the effectiveness of the organization's throwing programs and training strategies. Despite Yamamoto's reliability, the rest of the rotation, including Snell, Glasnow, and Kershaw, remains inconsistent or injured. Fried's Cy Young candidacy was explored in depth. With a 1.29 ERA and consistent dominance, Josh called him the clear front-runner. Other contenders like Robbie Ray, Hunter Brown, and Chris Bubik were noted, though Fried's consistency set him apart. On the offensive side, Pete Crow Armstrong's recent surge sparked MVP speculation, but Josh dismissed it due to his relatively weak OBP and limited consistency. Attention turned to the Texas Rangers, whose rotation (deGrom, Eovaldi, Mowley) and improving offense make them serious contenders. The coaching shift toward personalized, non-analytic-heavy hitting plans has improved their situational batting. They also discussed trade rumors including Bo Bichette, Kenley Jansen, and Sandy Alcantara potentially moving before the deadline. The Orioles and Rockies came under fire for poor development. The Rockies' minus-150 run differential led Scott to predict they might break the all-time worst record. Josh argued that both teams lack direction and accountability, especially with player growth and clubhouse culture. Lastly, home field advantage in 2025 has reached historic levels, with home teams winning 56.5% of games, the best rate since 2005. Betting trends show high returns for home favorites, and Seidenberg emphasized this is a year to follow such patterns. The hosts closed with MVP and Cy Young betting odds, a promo for Pregame.com, and a final note on the season's unpredictability and remaining opportunities. Learn more about your ad choices.
